You didn't know how Wanda could sometimes think so lowly of herself. There was no way that you could possibly change her thoughts of herself, however you could try to help her see what you thought of her which was the complete opposite of how she thought.

Some days were far worse than others. She was generally relatively chipper, but other days she couldn't bear the fact that people actually cared for her which confused you immensely.

When she didn't turn up for your training session you knew that she would be cooped up in her room. You knocked on her door but she didn't respond, so you simply let yourself into the room to see her lying on her bed holding one of her pillows.

"Upsy daisy Wanda," you said softly approaching her bed.

She shook her head but didn't say a word.

"Do you want to talk about what's up?" You offered taking a seat on the edge of her bed, resting a hand against her arm to show that you cared.

Once again she shook her head.

"Please Wanda tell me what's wrong. I cannot attempt to help if you don't tell me what's wrong. We are friends, aren't we?" You said trying to keep a reassuring smile on your face and not let your concern escape through your expression and tone.

"Why?" She crooked.

You raised an eyebrow at her. "Why what?"

She sat up slightly so that her teary eyes could look into your own.

"Why would you want a friendship with me? I am a monster," she said in a raised tone, sounding completely pained by the whole ordeal.

You knew that Wanda had done bad things and made terrible choices, but everyone had. There was nothing she had done that you or one of the other avengers hadn't also done worse or of equal, it just came with the territory. Although you knew this, you also knew that it pained her that she had done such things before.

"Don't be daft Wanda. You aren't a monster. Yes, you picked a dark path to get you here, but you're using your powers for good, and that is all that matters," you smiled, every word being the truth.

"But I am the reason so many innocent people are dead," she stated with her voice breaking.

"So am I. There is pretty much always collateral damage but it doesn't make you bad. Even if you meant to kill them, as long as you embrace that that was a wrong decision and you are doing everything in your power to do what is right, it can make up for it. Look at Natasha she was one of the world's best and most feared assassins but she is now equally feared and amazing at her job but she has changed to fight for what is right. You can't just give up on the battle no matter how hard it is. Knowing that what you did was wrong is the first sign to the fact that you are good."

A tear rolled down her cheek as she moved her hand to cover yours that was resting on her arm.

"Thank you for being my friend," she whispered.

"Thank you for being my friend also."
