It had been a normal day at work until people entered the building with guns and turned everything upside down. Although you knew to comply with what the armed robbers wanted, to let them take what they wanted to keep yourself alive, but your husband was also an avenger, and you weren't about to become a damsel in distress. Where you needed to, you sat quiet but when the assailants weren't watching you did your best to help your colleagues get out and to safety.

Maybe it hadn't been the smartest idea, but you had gotten several people out of danger before your actions had been noticed and a bullet entered your shoulder. With the sound of gunfire, police rushed in, having been waiting for the best moment to seize the gunmen.

You had explained everything to the police when your husband arrived on the scene, rushing to the ambulance that you were sat on the back of.

"Are you okay?" Clint questioned rushing over to you.

"It's just a little bullet wound," you shrugged, doing your best to not move your injured shoulder as a paramedic did their best to patch it up, as you refused to leave the scene until your husband arrived.

He gave you a warning glare, but it quickly faltered as he pulled you into a tight embrace, only loosening his grip when you called out in pain.

"I'm glad that you're alive," he stated. "But you could have died!"

You rolled your eyes at him. "But I didn't."

He ran a hand through his hair, sighing at your retort.

"It was stupid, brave but very stupid," he frowned.

"You've done far worse than that. I wasn't just going to sit there and let innocent people die."

"I'm an avenger, it's my job to do stupid shit and save people," he said. "You shouldn't have to do stuff like that. You shouldn't do things like that."

You reached out your uninjured arm to grasp your husband's hand in your own. You had spent so many days worrying if he was going to live or die, you understood the pain and stress he was currently under as you had to face it more often than you wished you had to.

"You've taught me better than to sit by and accept whatever shit is thrown at me," you assured him. "I'm always going to stand up for those that need it."
