I'm sorry, it's bad, but it's the longest one I've ever done... so yay?

Pale and dead
The king is gone
In his place stood a cat
Proud and tall
He lifts the crown (with his tail)
And puts it on
Why did he bother with this at all?

The minstrels are shocked,
The advisors muse,
Cats come from corners
Not shocked or amused
They bow down their heads,
All show respect.
The cat on the throne then lifts his head
Even the knights
Cannot comprehend

They look at him and wonder,
"What is he thinking?"
They ponder and ponder
And start to speak
Should they run?
Or bow down at his feet?

Their king is a cat?
What monstrosity is this?
What would the neighbouring kingdoms think?
They'll laugh and joke
And never stop
So they take off their armour
And off with the robes

The king of cats
Watches amused
The guards and staff
Run all bare
Till they reach the kingdom borders
They cautiously walk
Treading lightly
Making no noise
Not even talking

The cats are all meowing (I know they don't actually meow at each other, but just pretend)
Congratulating the cat on the throne
The king then stretches his back
The crown now on the floor
There are cats galore
The raids the pantry,
They take the poultry.

Free to do what they wish
Free from the burden of man
But the next few days,
They start to starve
The king of cats might have to eat them all.
Like the human king who had once stood before them,
This cat king gave nothing at all!

Done and done
Tell me whatcha think
