A/N: at one point I mention Poppy getting her memories back, that's just part of the dream and she doesn't actually remember anything (just thinks she does).

----------&----------

The TARDIS was silent save for a woman's giggling. The Doctor and Poppy were sat on the floor of the console room, just talking. They hadn't gone on a proper adventure in a while, they were just enjoying each other's company in the TARDIS, alone. Amy and Rory were gone and The Doctor had proposed, Poppy was just happy.

"I feel we should tell at least someone about, y'know," Poppy gestures to her ring

"Well, it's not like you can go tell River,"

"True, we don't know when we'll see her again," Poppy paused as she leaned on The Doctor's shoulder

"Amy and Rory?" The Doctor suggested and Poppy jumped up

"I'm driving!"

----------&----------

Now, The Doctor and Poppy wouldn't have to hop over some flowers and a garden wall if The Doctor had let Poppy drive without him interfering.

"Rory!" They both scream when they see him

"Poppy, Doctor," he greets less enthusiastically

"We've crushed your flowers,"

"You crushed their flowers," Poppy corrects

"Oh, Amy will kill you," Rory warns

"Where is she anyway?" Poppy asks

"She'll need a bit longer,"

"Whenever you're ready, Amy!" The Doctor shouts inside as Amy 'waddles' out

"Oh, way-hey! You've swallowed a planet!"

"I'm pregnant," she tells him and Poppy just stares, her mind half shutting off. Something felt wrong. She couldn't be pregnant. But why not? Her headaches had gone over time, since she had gotten her memories back, but now she was getting a banging one. The scene unfolds before her and she only zones back in when they're sat on a bench - how did they get there? She's pretty sure The Doctor guided her. Poppy's sat on the edge of the bench by Amy.

"Loads of people here live well into their nineties,"Amy explains Upper Leadwort

"Well, don't let that get you down!" The Doctor exclaims

"It's not getting me down,"

"Well, I wanted to see how you were. You know me, I don't just abandon people when they leave the TARDIS. This Time Lord's for life. You don't get rid of your old pal the Doctor so easily,"

"Hmm. You came here by mistake, didn't you?"

"Actually, we didn't," Poppy says

"We have news," The Doctor remembers

"Oh, news?" Amy looks up at Poppy, catching sight of something on her way "you're engaged?!"

Poppy smiles and waves

"So," The Doctor starts again "What do you do around here to stave off the, you know..."

"Boredom?" Amy guesses

"Self-harm,"

Poppy snorts and has to cover her mouth to stop the laughter.

"We relax," Rory starts and The Doctor mimics him to Poppy, causing her to laugh again "We live. We listen to the birds,"

"Yeah, see? Birds. Those are nice," Amy tries

"We didn't get time to listen to birdsong back in the TARDIS days, did we?" The birds start getting very loud

"Oh blimey, my head's a bit..." The Doctor trails off and Poppy gets what he's saying "Err, no, you're right, there wasn't a lot of time for birdsong back in the good old..."

-----&-----

The Doctor wakes up on the console floor, Poppy is on the jump seat, left hand hanging down with no ring and short haired Rory and non-pregnant Amy enter.

"Days... What? No, yes, sorry, what?" The Doctor stands up confused "Oh, you're okay. Oh, thank God. I had a terrible nightmare about you three. That was scary. Don't ask. You don't want to know. You're safe now," The Doctor hugs Poppy who was sat on the jump seat confused and then Amy who kept touching her stomach. Poppy looks at her left hand and stares at it.

"That's what counts. Blimey. Never dropped off like that before. Well, never, really. I'm getting on a bit, you see. Don't let the cool gear fool you," The Doctor turns his attention back to the TARDIS "Now, what's wrong with the console? Red flashing lights. I bet they mean something,"

"Err, Doctor, I also had a kind of dream thing," Rory says suddenly

"Yeah, so did I,"

"Same..." Poppy says gently

"Not a nightmare, though, just, err, we were married," Rory tells Amy

"Yeah. In a little village," Amy agrees

"A sweet little village, and you were pregnant,"

"Yes, I was huge. I was a boat,"

"So, you had the same dream, then? Exactly the same dream?"

"Are you calling me a boat?!"

"And Doctor, you were visiting," Rory changes the subject quickly "with Poppy,"

"Yeah, yeah, you came to our cottage,"

"And you and Poppy were engaged," Rory adds "How can we have the same dream? It doesn't make any sense,"

"And you had a nightmare about us. What happened to us in the nightmare?" Amy asks the Doctor and Poppy joins the two. The Doctor looks behind Rory for a ponytail, stares at Amy's stomach for a bump and gently holds up Poppy's left hand to look for a ring.

"It was a bit similar, in some aspects,"

"Which aspects?"

"Yeah, which ones did you count as the nightmare?" Poppy asks bitterly

"Well, all aspects were the same,"

"You had the same dream," Amy realises

"Basically,"

"You said it was a nightmare,"

"Did I say nightmare? No, more of a really good mare," The Doctor stares at Poppy and she realises her eyebrow at him "Look, it doesn't matter. We all had some kind of psychic episode. We probably jumped a time track or something. Forget it. We're back to reality now,"

The bird starts again

"Doctor? If we're back to reality, how come I can still hear birds?"

"The same awful birds," Poppy groans

"The same ones we heard in the..." Rory shuts up

-----&-----

"Dream..." He finishes "Oh! Sorry. Nodded off. Stupid. God, I must be overdoing it. I was dreaming we were back on the TARDIS. The four are back on the bench, but Poppy is lying over Amy, her head in The Doctor's lap. He stands abruptly and Amy quickly catches Poppy's head so it doesn't hit the bench.

"You two had the same dream, didn't you?"

"Yep," Poppy jumps up off Amy's lap.

"Weren't we just saying the same thing?"

"But we thought this was the dream, didn't we?"

"I think so. Why do dreams have to fade so quickly?"

"Doctor, what is going on?" Rory asks and Poppy helps Amy up

"Is this because of you? Is this some Time Lordy thing because you've shown up again?"

"Listen to me. Trust nothing. From now on, trust nothing you see, hear or feel," The Doctor warns them.

"But we're awake now," Rory says

"Yeah. You thought you were awake on the TARDIS, too," Poppy reminds him.

"But we're home," Amy tells them

"Yeah, you're home. You're also dreaming. Trouble is, Rory, Amy Poppy, which is which? Are we flashing forwards or backwards?" The Doctor grabs Poppy's hand and starts walking down the street "Hold on tight. This is going to be a tricky one," he smirks and Poppy holds back a laugh, they loved a challenge.
