A/N: This is unedited and not proof-read, Sorry! I just wanted to get something out.

----------&----------

"How'd you do that?" The Doctor asks and Poppy just shrugs.

"All right, Restac, you've made your point," The scientist from earlier tells her

"This is now a military tribunal. Go back to your laboratory, Malohkeh," They hiss at each other and Poppy mutters a quite 'damn'.

"This isn't the way," he starts to leave

"Prepare them for execution," at her orders, the five are shacked to rings in a pair of columns. Poppy is put on the same one as The Doctor and a woman she hadn't seen before.

"Okay, sorry. As rescues go, didn't live up to its potential," Amy half-shouts over to The Doctor

"I'm glad you tore okay," The Doctor says instead

"Me too. Lizard men, though,"

"Homo Reptilia. They occupied the planet before humans. Now they want it back,"

"After they've wiped out the human race," The women on Poppy's column tells them

"Right. Preferred it when I didn't know, to be honest,"

"Yeah," Poppy agrees

"Why are they waiting? What do you think they're going to do with us?"

----------&----------

"Who is the ape leader?" Restac asks into the green screen "Who speaks for the apes?" she repeats when she's left with no response.

"I speak for the humans. Some of us, anyway," Rory steps forward

"Do you understand who we are?"

"Sort of. A bit. Not really,"

"We have ape hostages."

"Poppy!" he shouts when he sees the group "Doctor! Amy!"

"Mo! Mo, are you okay?" Ambrose exclaims when she sees her husband

"I'm fine, love. I've found Elliot. I'm bringing him home,"

"Amy, I thought I'd lost you," Rory mutters

"What, because I was sucked into the ground? You're so clingy,"

"Tony Mack!" The woman shouts as well

"Having fun down there?"

"Not to interrupt, but just a quick reminder to stay calm," The Doctor adds admits the shouts of relief

"Show me Alaya. Show me, and release her immediately unharmed, or we kill your friends, one by one," Restac threatens

"No!" Ambrose runs forward

"Steady now, everyone," The Doctor reminds them

"Ambrose, stop it," her father tries to stop her

"Get off me, Dad! We didn't start this!" she shouts at the screen.

"Let Rory deal with this, Ambrose, eh?"

"We are not doing what you say any more. Now, give me back my family," There's a few moments of silence

"No," Restac then spins "Execute the girl with the yellow hair,"

"What?!" Poppy gets unchained and The Doctor, Roy and Amy scream protests along with her. It's chaos, then the screen in front of Poppy turns blank, she prepares herself for the shot.

"Fire!"

"Stop!" A new voice booms and everyone stops, Poppy slowly opens her eyes "You want to start a war while the rest of us sleep, Restac?"

"The apes are attacking us," she tells the new man, in pope like attire.

"You're our protector, not our commander, Restac. Unchain them,"

"I do not recognise your authority at this time, Eldane,"

"Well then, you must shoot me," he says cockily. Knowing she would never

The scientist and her bicker for a bit before the new man stops them

"Shush now, Restac. Go and play soldiers. I'll let you know if I need you,"

"You'll need me, then we'll see," she storms off

----------&---------

The screen turns on again and The Doctor stands in front of it, Rory appears "Rory. Hello,"

"Is Poppy okay? Where's Amy?" he asks quickly

"They're fine. Look," he gestures behind them and both women smirk and wave in a similar manner.

"Keeping you on your toes," Amy jokes

"No time to chat," the women nod and go join the others off screen "Listen, you need to get down here. Go to the drill storeroom. There's a large patch of earth in the middle of the floor. The Silurians are going to send up transport discs to bring you back down using geothermal energy and gravity bubble technology. It's how they travel and frankly, it's pretty cool. Bring Alaya. We hand her over; we can land this after all. All going to work, promise. Got to dash. Hurry up," The transition ends and The Doctor somehow gets the three women sat opposite Eldane.

"I'd say you've got a fair bit to talk about,"

"How so?"

"You both want the planet. You both have a genuine claim to it,"

"Are you authorised to negotiate on behalf of humanity?"

"Me? No. But they are," he points to the three women who look shocked.

"What?"

"No, we're not,"

"No way in hell,"

"Course you are. Poppy Watcher, Amy Pond and Nasreen Chaudhry, speaking for the planet? Humanity couldn't have better ambassadors," he pats them all on the shoulders "Come on, who has more fun than us?" Poppy and Amy snort before standing up to talk to The Doctor privately.

"Is this what happens, in the future?" Poppy asks

"The planet gets shared? Is that what we need to do?" Amy continues

"Er, what are you talking about?" Nasreen stands

"Oh Nasreen, sorry. Probably worth mentioning at this stage, Poppy, Amy and I travel in time a bit,"

"Anything else?"

"There are fixed points through time where things must always stay the way they are. This is not one of them. This is an opportunity. A temporal tipping point. Whatever happens today, will change future events, create its own timeline, its own reality. The future pivots around you, here, now. So, do good, for humanity, and for Earth,"

"Right. No pressure there, then,"

"None at all," Poppy adds sarcastically and sits down with Amy.

"We can't share the planet. Nobody on the surface is going to go for this idea. It is just too big a leap," Nasreen tells The Doctor

"Come on. Be extraordinary," Nasreen seems reluctant then sighs and sits down on the other side of Poppy.

"Okay. Bringing things to order. The first meeting of representatives of the human race and Homo Reptilia is now in session. Ha! Never said that before. That's fab,"

"Fab?" Poppy asks, laughing slightly "please never say that again dear,"

"No promises," he winks "Carry on. Now, Mo. Let's go and get your son!" he walks out muttering "Oh, you know, humans, and their predecessors shooting the breeze. Never thought I'd see it,"

The discussions start and five minutes in, Both Poppy and Amy look fed up and rest their heads on the table.

"We lived on the surface of the planet long before you did. Our sole purpose has been to return to our rightful place,"

"And we've got a planet that can't already sustain the people who live there. And you want to add a whole other species to drain resources," Nasreen keeps going on about how it won't work, and the discussions continue.

"What about the areas that aren't habitable to us?" Poppy suggests quietly and Amy jumps up in excitement, she moves the globe around

"Australian outback, Sahara Desert, Nevada plains. They're all deserted," she suggests, then sits down

"Yes, fine, but what happens when their population grows and breeds and spreads? And anyway, what benefit does humanity get, and how will we ever sell this to people on the surface?" Nasreen continues to be pessimistic.

"If I could get a word in, maybe I could tell you," The three women turn to Eldane "You give us space, we can bring new sources of energy, new methods of water supply, new medicines, scientific advances. We were a great civilisation. You provide a place for us on the surface, we'll give you knowledge and technology beyond humanity's dreams. If we work together, this planet could achieve greatness,"

"Okay. Now I'm starting to see it,"

Amy slams her hands on the table and Poppy does one loud clap, smiling. They had finally come to some common ground.

Clapping starts and they turn to where The Doctor has entered "Not bad for a first session. More similarities than differences,"

A strange noise rings out "The transport has returned. Your friends are here,"

------------&-----------

They wait for a while, Amy and Poppy leaning on the Table, then Rory appears in the doorway, followed by Ambrose, then Mack carrying something large, wrapped in a blanket.

"Something's wrong," The Doctor realises after Elliot runs to his mother and Amy and Poppy wave at Rory.

"Doctor, what's he carrying?" Poppy asks quietly, hoping to god that it's not the Lizard-creature that was meant to come down, alive.

"No. Don't do this. Tell me you didn't do this.," The Doctor steps forward as Mack storms forward and lays the blanket on the floor. The Doctor crouches down and flips open the blanket, when he sees her, he covers sheer face again "What did you do?"

"It was me. I did it," Ambrose admits and her son turns around in her arms.

"Mum?"

"I just wanted you back," Eliot detaches himself and walks over to his father.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know. You have to believe me, they're better than this," The Doctor tells Eldane.

"This is our planet!" Ambrose shouts

"We had a chance here," The Doctor turns to face her

"Leave us alone!"

"In future, when you talk about this, you tell people there was a chance but you were so much less than the best of humanity,"

Restac and her troops march in, surrounding them all.

"My sister," Restac walks forward and opens up the blanket. When she sees her sister dead, she starts making crying noises "Oh. And you want us to trust these apes, Doctor?"

"One woman. She was scared for her family. She is not typical,"

"I think she is," Restac stands in anger and faces Ambrose

"One person let us down, but there is a whole race of dazzling, peaceful human beings up there. You were building something here. Come on. An alliance could work," The Doctor tries

"It's too late for that, Doctor," Ambrose says quietly.

"Why?"

"Our drill is set to start burrowing again in..." she takes out a stopwatch "fifteen minutes,"

"What?!" Nasreen turns to Mack

"What choice did I have? They had Elliot,"

"Don't do this. Don't call their bluff,"

"Let us go back. And you promise to never come to the surface ever again. We'll walk away, leave you alone,"

"Execute her," Restac orders

"No!" The Doctor grabs Ambrose and they run all run "Everybody, back to the lab. Run!" They all head for that direction.

"Execute all the apes!"
