Marinette's POV

I woke up the next morning to my alarm blaring in my ear. I groaned picking up my phone turning off the alarm. I laid in bed debating whether I should get up or not. Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice in the matter.

"Marinette! Start getting ready for school!" Mama yelled.

I rolled out of bed and headed to my bathroom. I grabbed my toothbrush along with toothpaste and started brushing my teeth. Ugghhh...I wish it was Friday. I know I shouldn't be complaining since we had a few days off before resuming school. The events of what happened right after school yesterday are still vivid in mind. It was shocking yet, what was James' motive? The evil glint in his eyes showed that he wasn't backing down anytime soon. One thing for sure is I'm not going let him push me around. I'm not his little puppet to play around with, I wouldn't go out with him ever. Hopefully, he'll stop bothering me soon, because honestly, I don't want a repeat of yesterday or worse...

Once I finished brushing my teeth, I hopped into the shower. Once I was done I went to pick out my outfit. I decided to wear a light pink sweater dress with black knee-high boots. I kept my hair down curling the tips of it and putting on a bit of mascara. I looked at myself in the mirror before heading into my room.

I went towards my bed picking up a sleeping Tikki. I placed her gently into my purse and grabbed my things heading downstairs.

I put my stuff down near the front door and headed to the kitchen. The scent of cinnamon roamed around the kitchen and living room area. I walked into the kitchen and sat on the stool near the counter. "Morning Mama, it smells amazing!" I complimented.

She turned away from the stove, "Good morning honey! And thank you." She smiled. "I made cinnamon french toast, want some?" She asked.

"Yes please!" I replied happily. She set down the plate of cinnamon french toast with berries on top. I kissed her cheek, "Thanks, Mama."

She smiled warmly, "You're welcome, I'm going to help your father in the bakery. Have fun at school." She hugged me quickly before heading towards the door of the bakery's kitchen.

"I'll try, see you later," I replied.

Once she left I ate my breakfast savoring the flavor of each bite. When I finished breakfast, I put my dishes in the sink. I checked the time and I had 12 minutes before school started. I grabbed my backpack and purse, on my way out of the house. I walked across the street reaching school in no time. I walked up the steps, opening the door entering the school. I strolled towards my locker hoping for the time to pass quicker. I stopped mid-step when I felt a pair of soft, warm hands cover my eyes.

"Guess who?" A familiar soothing voice whispered in my ear.

I put my hands on top of the person's hands, "Hmm...I don't know, can I get a hint?" I asked in a teasing tone.

"Well...I'm probably the person on your mind 24/7." He whispered.

"Shawn Mendes!" I replied cheerfully.

He laughed, "No." He dropped his hands from my eyes and grabbed me by the waist, turning me towards him. The moment our eyes locked I could see the gleam of happiness in his emerald eyes. His gaze was warm and soothing, his hands softly caressed my waist. He continued to look at me studying my facial features. I felt my face burn up when his gaze lingered on my lips.

"You look amazing as always." He smiled. I love his smile.

He quickly pecked my lips, "I love your smile too Princess."

My eyes widened in shock, "...I said that out loud didn't I?"

He chuckled, "Yes you did." He removed his hands from my waist and took his hand into mine. We walked to my locker hand in hand, having a few minutes before class begins.

"So...Shawn Mendes?" He raised an eyebrow questionably.

"I like his songs, not to mention he's easy on the eyes." I teased.

He gave a fake pained look, "Oh you wound me, Princess." He sighed dramatically.

I giggled, "I was joking! I love his songs, but you're more handsome."

"Hmm...are you sure?" He smirked.

"Y-Yes." I stammered. I felt a blush forming on my cheeks.

"Why did you stuttered?" His smirk widened.

"Why are smirking?" I remarked.

"I asked you first Princess." His eyes gleaming with mischief.

I huffed playfully, "When you smirk like that, how else do you expect me to respond?"

He smiled brightly, "You're so adorable when your mad m'la-, I mean Mari." He averted his gaze away from me.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, "Are you...okay?" I asked hesitantly.

"I'm great!" He answered, overly enthusiastically.

"If you say so..." I replied, still confused. We walked to my locker in silence, when we reached my locker I collected my books for my classes. When I lifted my gaze towards him, he avoided it by staring at the ground. I didn't know what to say because I'm the awkwardest person ever! Thankfully he broke the silence.

"I'm sorry, I got weird all of sudden. A lot of stuff just happened last night..." He lifted his gaze from the floor to my face, he seemed to look anxious, worried, and guilty...?

I lifted my hand and softly caressed his cheek, "Hey it's ok, I'm here if you need to talk about anything." I spoke softly. He brought his hand up to my hand resting on his cheek.

He sighed, "I know...when I left your house yesterday my father..." His gaze lowered to the ground.

I lifted his chin up to meet my eyes, "Hey, I won't force you to talk about it if you're not ready." I spoke gently, giving him a reassuring smile. He smiled at me slightly, as I continued to softly caress his cheek.

He kissed my nose, "I love you."

I smiled warmly, "I love you too."

"We should probably head to class soon." He spoke.

"Do we have to?" I whined.

He laughed, "Yes, I don't want to go as much as you do."

"Can we just stay here for 1 more minute?" I asked.

"Of course Princess." He replied.

We stayed like that well...until the bell rang. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer towards him.

We walked to class in a peaceful silence up until we entered the classroom. I tugged on Adrien's sleeve, he turned his attention towards me. "Can I sit with you today?" I whispered in his ear.

"I was about to suggest that, I don't want you anywhere near him." He growled lowly, looking straight ahead.

I followed his line of vision realizing James was staring directly at us. He had a smug look on his face and the same evil glint in his eyes. Adrien tightened his grip on my waist, giving him the death glare. If looks could kill James would be dead the second he made eye contact with Adrien.

"Hey girl, what's going on...?" Alya asked curiously.

I turned to right realizing Alya had arrived to class. "Oh, hey Als! It's a long story...also I'm sitting with Adrien today," I responded.

She sighed, "Ok, but you got a lot of explaining to do in study hall, Mari."

I giggled, "I know." I turned my head back towards Adrien who was still glaring at James. I poked his arm gaining his attention, "Let's go sit down silly."

A blush appeared on his cheeks, "Right."

We walked towards his desk both sitting in the seats. Nino appeared in the classroom giving us a confused look on the seating arrangements. I saw Alya rolled her eyes grabbing his arm dragging him to our desk. Mrs. Bustier was running a bit late so, everyone was chatting amongst themselves.

"Did we have homework yesterday?" Nino asked.

"I don't think so," Adrien replied.

"So what did you do yesterday after school Mari?" Alya questioned.

I sighed, "Let's just say it was...eventful."

"Eventful how?" She asked narrowing her eyes.

"Well..."

The classroom door opened revealing that Mrs. Bustier had arrived. "I'll tell you later," I spoke, before turning my head back to the front. Adrien interlaced our hands, rubbing his thumb on my knuckles soothingly. I smiled a bit turning my gaze towards him. He was zoned out not realizing we were holding hands. I giggled before turning my attention to Mrs. Bustier.

"Good Morning class! Sorry I was running a bit little late, still trying to fix my sleeping schedule. Anyway, today we'll be reading Romeo and Juliet! And has anyone seen Chloe today?" She asked her eyes scanning the classroom.

Just then the classroom door creaked open and there stood a flustered Chloe, but she looked...different. Her hair wasn't styled in her usual ponytail and her sunglasses weren't on top of her head. Also, she wasn't wearing her usual outfit. Instead, her honey blonde hair flowed down past her shoulders and she was wearing a black sweater with blue jeans and converses. She wasn't wearing as much makeup as she did on daily basis. Instead, she only had on mascara and pink lipgloss. I wonder why she changed her appearance all of sudden?

"I'm sorry that I'm late Mrs. Bustier." She spoke softly.

"It's alright Chloe, just go take a seat." Mrs. Bustier instructed.

She nodded her head walking past her regular seat with Sabrina and sat at the back of the classroom with...Nathaniel?! Hmm...that's strange. I wonder what happened between her and Sabrina?

"Now that everyone is here we can continue today's lesson..."

Nathaniel's POV

I was continuing a drawing I started yesterday, so far I really wasn't sure what I was drawing. All I knew was it was a girl. The door opened, I looked up seeing Mrs. Bustier had arrived. I continued to draw as she explained today's lesson.

"And has anyone seen Chloe today?" She asked.

That's strange Chloe is always on time to cla-. The classroom door creaked open and there stood Chloe. She looked beautiful with her honey-colored hair flowing gently down her shoulders and a natural face of makeup. I felt a sudden flutter in my stomach. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Huh, that's weird I only had this feeling when I had a crush on Marinette. Wait...does that mean I have a crush on Chloe?!?! No, no it's probably a stomach ache that's it. Besides Chole likes Adrien, not me.

I felt movement in the seat next to me, I looked to my right and there sat the gorgeous Chloe Bourgeois. Did I just say gorgeous?...What's up with me this morning?! I averted my gaze back to my drawing. My eyes widened in shock when I saw the result of my sketch. It was a picture of Chloe, not just any picture, but when we were younger. She was smiling with her cute dimples hugging her teddy bear she used to bring to preschool every day. I felt a smile curve on my lips looking down at the drawing. Those were the simpler days when we could be carefree and not worry about life. I sighed still confused about why I drew this. I decided to close my sketchbook and started to pay attention to the lesson.

Marinette's POV

~A few classes later

I was walking with Alya to the library because we had study hall this period. I knew the second we sat down she'll throw questions at me left and right. Once we found a table near the back of the library we sat down next to each other. I put my backpack and purse gently on the ground. I turned my gaze to Alya and she was staring directly at me.

"So what happened yesterday that was so eventful?" She asked.

I sighed, "After school when I was going home, I was stopped by James. Well more like he pinned me to the wall, anyway he tried to threaten me by saying I should break up with Adrien. Obviously, I said no and tightened his grip on my arms and now there are red marks on wrists. I was lucky Nathaniel was near, so he distracted him while I escaped and kicked his knee. Adrien came over when he found out so we just hung out for a bit. And now parents want me to invite Adrien over for dinner so yeah." I rambled. Her eyes widened in shock, when she processed my words, I swear I saw a fire lit inside her eyes.

"That son of bi-" I cut her off.

"Alya language!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry Mari, when I get my hands on that boy he'll wish he never laid a hand on you." She answered angrily.

"I would've told you this yesterday, but it slipped my mind I'm sorry," I spoke softly.

Her eyes soften at my words, "It's ok, as you said it was an eventful day. So to make today less eventful I'll walk you home."

I smiled, "Thanks, Alya, that would be great."

"So, dinner with your parents and lover boy." She smirked.

"Yeah I haven't told him yet, but what if my parents embarrass me or what if they don't like him? Or worse what if-" She cut me off.

"Girl calm down." She chuckled.

"But..."

"But, nothing it'll be fine, your parents are the nicest people ever. Plus they wouldn't invite him over to dinner if they didn't like him." She reassured me.

"Yeah you're right, I need stop overthinking situations." I sighed.

She smiled, "Yeah you do, but hey you always have me whenever you need advice."

"Thanks, Als, I love ya."

Her smile widens,"I love ya too girl. Anyway, what do you think happened between Chloe and Sabrina?"

"I'm not sure, plus she changed her appearance so suddenly," I replied.

"True...at least she's not bothering you or Adrien." She replied back.

"Yeah, I'm glad about that," I responded.

"So what class do you have next?" She asked.

"I have Art. What about you?" I replied.

"I have History." She groaned.

I laughed, "That sucks, at least Nino is in your class." I responded wiggling my eyebrows. She playfully pushed my shoulder.

"Shut up." She muttered.

"How is your relationship going?" I asked curiously.

A smile immediately formed on her face, "It's great he's so sweet, kind, caring and I think I might be falling for him." Her eyes filling with emotion.

I gushed, "That's amazing Alya! I'm happy for you!"

Her cheeks flushed, "Thanks, girl wanna give me more details on you and Adrien's relationship?" Her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

I blushed a deep shade of red, "Well it's amazing just being near him puts a smile on my face. He's funny, adorable, romantic and so much more and...I love him."

She squealed, "Oh my gosh, you guys are like couple goals. You guys are meant for each other after all."

I smiled at that statement. I guess we are meant to be.

After that conversation, We began to just chat about school, classes, and the upcoming of Thanksgiving. I felt someone tap on my shoulder and turned around to face...
