Marinette's POV

Two weeks...

"Marinette! Can you come down here, please?" Mom called out.

"Okay, I'll be right there," I responded before walking downstairs into the living room.

Once I was downstairs, I saw my mom pat the spot next to her on the couch, so I sat down. "So what's up?"

"Well, as you know, Thanksgiving is in a few days."

"Yeah, and...?" I responded while furrowing my eyebrows.

"Well... you haven't exactly invited Adrien over for dinner, so I was thinking you could invite him and his father over for Thanksgiving!"

"Oh okay... Wait what?!"

"What's wrong?"

"O-oh, I...just... didn't know you wanted to invite Adrien's father too... that's all."

"Of course honey, it's Thanksgiving after all."

Does Adrien's father even spend Thanksgiving with him? There's no way that he...b-but he almost did that last Christmas. I sighed, "Alright, I'll go call Adrien and ask him."

She clasped her hands together and smiled, "That's great! Well, I have to go and help your father with the bakery so I'll see you later!"

"Okay, see you!" I replied before going back up to my bedroom. I paced my room thinking of how to invite my boyfriend and his father over for dinner.

"Hey, Marinette, the only thing you can do is just call and ask him." Tikki spoke.

"Yeah, you're right even if Adrien's father doesn't come, at least Adrien would be happy to come to spend a dinner with us." I responded.

"That's the spirit!" Tikki exclaimed.

I picked up my phone from my desk and dialed Adrien's number.

*Ring Ring*

"Hi, Princess."

"Hey, kitty."

"How are you doing on this lovely day?"

"I'm doing good. What about you?"

"I'm great, I was just about to call you, but you beat me to it."

I giggled, "It's like I read your mind."

"So it seems." He chuckled.

"I need to tell you something."

"What is it, Princess?"

"Well...we'd like to invite you and your father over for Thanksgiving. Of course if you don't already have plans! Then-"

"Oh! That sounds great! Though uh, I'm not sure my father will accept."

"Is something wrong?"I asked worriedly.

"The thing is...my father wasn't really ecstatic to hear about us being in a relationship."

I felt my stomach drop, "Oh I didn't think about that really...I'm sorry." Of course, his father doesn't accept our relationship...

"Tell you what- I'll try and see if I convince him, and I'll call you back to let you know how things went."

"Alright, I hope it goes well."

He sighed, "Me too."

"Good luck kitty."

"Thanks, Princess. Bye."

"Bye."

~Call Ended~

Adrien's POV

I placed my phone beside me. I rested my hands on my face and tried to think of ways to convince my father to have dinner with my girlfriend and her parents. It's now or never Adrien you can't let your father control your life forever. I stood up with as much confidence as I could muster and marched to my father's office. I may have no plan in mind, but that's never stopped me! I knocked on the door twice and waited for a response.

"Who is it?"

"It's me, father."

"You may enter." I opened the door slowly and made my way over to his desk. His eyes were directed towards me until I stood before him.

"What is it, Adrien?"

"U-Um." I stuttered.

"Spit it out, son. I don't have all day."

"Mari and her parents invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner." I rushed out.

"Who?" He asked while raising an eyebrow.

I really shouldn't be doing this but...it's my life. He'll have to accept this whether he likes it or not."My...girlfriend...Marinette."

"What?!" He yelled, "Didn't I tell you to break up with this girl!"

I scoffed, "And why would I take your advice on my love life?"

"I forbid you from going to that dinner! The only place you'll be having Thanksgiving is here. You are staying home for the remainder of your break, as I will be traveling tomorrow to London and unfortunately I won't be home for Thanksgiving so, I will have Natalie keep an eye on you"

"Of course. All you care about is work. Why am I not surprised that we're not spending another holiday together. Thanks a lot, father." I stormed out of his office and slammed the door shut.

"Adrien!"

I kept walking despite my father calling after me. I opened the door to my room and shut it silently behind me.

"Don't let your anger get the best of you kid," Plagg spoke softly.

"I know it's just...it's frustrating to know he never supports my own decisions."

"Yeah, it sucks kid, but one day hopefully he will."

I sighed, "I hope you're right Plagg...you know what..."

*Ring Ring*

"Hey!"

"Hi, Mari."

"How did it go?"

"It went great." My voice cracked slightly.

"Adrien, tell me the truth."

"My father doesn't like the whole dinner idea.... he grounded me too."

"I'm sorry, Adrien...I really wanted to have dinner with you..."

"But, he happened to mention that he was traveling to London tomorrow," I mentioned with a smirk.

"But, you're grounded...how are you-"

"I'll just have to bend the rules."

"Adrien..."

"Don't worry it'll be fine m'lady. Just tell your parents that I'll be there and I will take care of the rest."

She sighed, "Okay, I'll call you later."

"Alright bye, beautiful."

She giggled, "Bye handsome."

Hey. He might have grounded Adrien Agreste, but not Chat Noir...

~Thanksgiving Day~

Marinette's POV

Adrien will be over in a few hours, which should give me enough time to get ready. I took a quick shower since I still smelt like flour. Earlier, I helped Mom cook most of the dishes we would be eating tonight. After my quick shower, I grabbed a robe and sat down and styled my hair by curling it a bit. I browsed through my closet to find the perfect cute/casual outfit for tonight. My eyes lit up when I found the perfect thing to wear.

I plopped down on my computer chair, phone in hand.

          Alya: Happy Thanksgiving Day girl!

Marinette: Thanks Als! Same to you

Alya: Thanks! Enjoy dinner with loverboy 😉

       Marinette: Thanks 😀

    *Ding Dong*

"Marinette, can you get the door please!"

I quickly made my way downstairs until I was at the front door. I turned the handle on the door to reveal Adrien standing at the opening. Dressed in a light blue button-up shirt and black jeans, with his hair styled a bit differently. His eyes widened while glancing at I took a moment and let my gaze linger.

"Wow... you look...wow," Adrien spoke as though he was lost for words.

I blushed slightly, "Well, you look quite dashing yourself."

He smiled brightly, "Why thank you, Princess."

"Of course. Come in, dinner should be ready soon," I stepped aside so he was able to enter. I led him into the living room, "Mom, Dad, Adrien is here!" I called out.

A few seconds later, my parents stood before us with huge smiles on their faces.

"Hello Adrien, it's nice to see you again," Mom spoke.

"It's nice to see you both too, Mrs. and Mr. Dupain-Cheng and thank you for inviting me into your home on Thanksgiving."

"Oh you don't have to thank us, it's our pleasure to have our daughter's boyfriend over for dinner," Dad replied.

His cheeks tinted pink at that statement, "Well who's ready to eat? I know I am." I spoke whilst grabbing Adrien's hand and dragging him to the dining room.

We all sat down at the table, which was set with all the food, smelling the aroma of dishes.

"The food smells delicious, Mrs. Dupain-Cheng." Adrien complimented.

"Why thank you Adrien, Marinette helped out too." She replied happily.

"Oh that's great, Marinette cooked for me once and it tasted amazing!"

I blushed slightly at the compliment and I glanced slightly at Adrien. I saw my parents give each other knowing looks as they looked between Adrien and I.

"So when exactly did our Mari cook for you?" My dad asked.

Adrien's eyes widened, "O-Oh uh, a few weeks ago..."

"Hmm...okay." My dad responded not pushing the subject further.

We started to pass around the food before we went around the table to say what we're grateful for.

Mom spoke, "Adrien. Why don't you start since you're our guest." She gestured towards Adrien.

"Alright, well I'm thankful for my family, friends, food, for having a roof over my head," He leaned next to my ear and gently held my hand, "and for having such a caring, amazing and beautiful girlfriend."

I smiled brightly at his last statement.

"Aww, that's so sweet." Mom gushed, "Your turn honey."

"I'm thankful for the life I have currently and just for what everyday brings. Like Adrien said, I'm thankful for friends, family, but I'm also thankful for him because he's been nothing, but amazing to me which I'm so grateful for."

Everyone sat silently taking in my words and the biggest smiles spread onto their faces. I felt Adrien squeeze my hand and rub his thumb against my knuckles.

"Well, your father and I are thankful for family, friends, the bakery, and having such an amazing daughter to call our own."

I quickly got up from my seat and gave them a hug. "I love you guys."

"We love you too." My parents answered simultaneously.

I went back to my seat and before I sat down, I pecked Adrien's cheek.

After, we all dug into our food and chatted in between.

"So, when did you two start dating?" Mom asked.

"Uh well... during the trip in California, Adrien and I grew closer and we started dating."

"That's nice. You could have told us sooner instead of having us figure it out for ourselves." She replied back.

"You're right sorry, my mind was just occupied I guess."

"It's alright honey, why don't you and Adrien hangout for a bit before he goes home." My dad suggested.

"That's a great idea!" I exclaimed. Adrien and I stood up hand in hand and I suggested we go up to the balcony. Once we got up there we sat in the foldable chairs I had set up out there.

For a few moments, we sat in silence just enjoying each other's company. I gazed up at the sky just enjoying the cool autumn breeze and the sunset.

"Today was amazing." Adrien spoke.

"Yeah it was." I replied while smiling slightly.

I felt his gaze on me and I turned towards him slightly, "W-Why are you looking at me like that?" I questioned curiously.

"Cause you're a beautiful sight, Marinette Dupain-Cheng." He answered with a genuine tone.

"T-Thank you." I blushed pink, surprised by the compliment.

"Anytime." He leaned in gently pressing his lips to mine. I immediately responded by just savoring the feel of his lips against mine.

*Ring Ring*

We pulled apart quickly, startled by the sudden noise.

"Sorry. It's my phone," He took a glance at his phone and his eyes gradually widened.

"Who is it kitty?" I asked worriedly.

"I-It's m-my father."
