Before school the next morning, Ricky showed up at the old rickety house yet again, this time with a drill in his hand, and two small bolts in his pocket. And this time, he was smart enough to bring one of the face masks from his father's in-home laboratory, to help him deal with the smell a bit better. Sure, the scent had subsided a little bit once Ricky had attached all the parts of the body together, but of course, that smell of rotting corpse still lingered, because a majority of the body had already begun to rot away.

Of course, that was a part of the reason Ricky was in such a hurry to get this whole thing done. If the entirety of the corpse ended up rotting away, which it would within just a matter of days, the entire thing would just be pointless. Ricky knew he had to act fast, and he had plans this afternoon to actually attempt to bring the body back to life. The sooner it was taken care of, the better.

Once Ricky got up to the room the corpse had been kept in, he got straight to work. He wouldn't particularly want to be late for school, so he had woken up a bit earlier, and made it to the house after a quick breakfast.

However, Ricky was beginning to regret that quick breakfast as he began to drill the first hole into the right side of the corpse's neck. The sound of a drill piercing the flesh of a human body was something he very quickly decided he would rather never hear again.

Once the first hole was taken care of, Ricky carefully twisted the first bolt into it, making sure that it wouldn't simply fall out after being left where it was. Then me moved on to the left side of the neck, repeating the process, and before he knew it, he was finished for the morning. And he was pretty thankful for that, too, because even with the mask on, the scent of rotting corpse was starting to get to him once he started drilling the holes.

That same day, after school, Ricky was back at the house again. He was determined to bring this guy to life as soon as possible, and the only step of preparation he had left was to make that weird concoction.

He had already grabbed vinegar and a candle from home, and he already had a lighter in his pocket. He figured the sunflower petal would be easy to get as well, seeing as they were a more common flower. It was the butterfly wings that Ricky knew would be difficult.

After a moment of thought, Ricky decided that Balz might be the best bet to ask for some help. After all, he and his girlfriend did like to collect some strange things, and he wouldn't be surprised if he found a handful of dead butterflies somewhere in the mix. To Ricky, that would be better than harming one that was still alive.

"Hey, uh, Balz?" Ricky said as he called the number.

"What is it?" Balz groaned. "Did something go wrong with the body or something? Because if so, I don't think I want any part in it."

"No, that's not it," Ricky replied. "I still have another preparation step to do. But, uh, I kinda need butterfly wings to complete it."

"What the hell could you possibly need butterfly wings for?" Balz questioned.

"Some weird concoction thing, I need it to, like, lubricate the bolts or some shit," Ricky responded.

"Okay then," Balz chuckled. "I'll see what Ryan-Ashley and I can do. But after this, I don't think I want any other involvement with this little project of yours. You gotta do everything else yourself."

"Hey, I've done all the attachments for the body, I've screwed bolts into his neck, and I'm gonna take care of the concoction," Ricky defended. "I'm gonna be the one to bring him to life, too. I just need a tad bit of help with this one little piece."

------------------------------------------

It was finally time. All Ricky had left to do was mix together those few ingredients, rub it onto the bolts, and then he would be able to give the poor guy on the table his life back.

He poured the vinegar into the small bowl first. Then came the butterfly wings, then the sunflower petal. Finally, he picked up the already-lit candle, and was able to get a drop of the wax into the mixture.

Ricky grinned as he stirred the contents of the bowl, knowing how close he was to possibly making a miracle happen. Once the mixture in the bowl was in a liquidized state, Ricky stood up, and carried it over to the table.

"This is your lucky day, man," Ricky chuckled.

He dipped his fingers into the bowl, then carefully rubbed the liquid onto both of the bolts, taking a deep breath afterwards. He had hooked some jumper cables up to a spare car battery he had borrowed from his dad, and now all he had left to do was latch those cables onto the bolts. From there, the electric currents would make their way to the heart of the body, charging it up. Basically, the reverse effect of getting electrocuted while still alive would be taking place.

Excitedly, Ricky grabbed the cables, and attached them to both of the dripping bolts, waiting for the magic to happen. The bolts began to spark after only a mere moment, and before Ricky knew it, the eyes of the body shot open, sparks of electricity popping out from the sockets

"I... I did it," Ricky said to himself, his eyes widening.

The man sat up slowly, looking around for a moment, before his eyes landed on Ricky.

"You're alive!" Ricky told him.

Ricky began to walk towards the boy, who, in return, tried to back himself away.

"No, no, hey, it's okay," Ricky tried to assure him. "I'm not here to hurt you at all, okay? I'm just gonna help... Take care of you, I guess."

The man still couldn't muster a reply. He attempted to move his mouth to speak, but no words were formed. Ricky realized after a moment that he was having difficulty speaking. Of course, he should've been expecting something like this, because the boy's brain wouldn't be working the same way that it had when he was first alive.

Ricky stepped even closer to the boy, gently setting his hand on his knee. The boy nervously glanced at Ricky's hand momentarily, but after realizing he wasn't in any danger, he relaxed, looking back at Ricky's face.

"Alright, I think our first step here is to teach you how to speak again," Ricky said.

The boy simply nodded, ready for his "lesson" to begin. It wasn't like he had anything better, anyway. After all, he had just come to life. He had quite a bit to learn.
