THE FIFTH YEAR WAS LIKE ANY OTHER FOR BOBBIE, AND THAT'S HOW SHE ENJOYED IT. The first week was the same as always, she got her timetable, went to classes, and studied in the library. Nothing was different, nor were the other Slytherins, however, there was a slight change. Their attitude had changed, although they were cruel and cunning before, their attitude had become harsher, and not just to Bobbie, to everyone around them that they didn't agree with.

The sneers had increased, the glares and the mutterings had also. When Bobbie had met up in the Library with Lily, the ginger-haired girl had waved her off, telling her that was just how the Slytherins were and they were never going to change, but something seemed different to Bobbie. They no longer walked individually, they walked in groups, closely huddled together as if they were awaiting an attack. Bobbie was an observant person, she learned the skill to study everyone and everything at a young age, wanting to know more about a person by their body language, their looks, and the way they interacted with other people as she couldn't by their voice. She knew deep down, something had changed, but she didn't know what.

Like any other day, classes ran as usual, and potions was the first one of the day. Bobbie enjoyed potions, she was able to work without having to let people know she couldn't hear him. In other classes, such as charms or transfiguration, things were harder for Bobbie, in the first year Bobbie has specifically asked Albus Dumbledore to not have the teachers treat her any differently than any of the other students, she didn't want that, and the headmaster had agreed and the teachers understood. Just like that, Bobbie's routine was created, she sat in the class reading her textbook that wrote each word the teacher was speaking. The textbook had been given to Bobbie specifically, in a way that would not only help her but also create a way that would make her no different from any of the other students.

Sitting if the potions classroom, the class was to consist of both Slytherins and Gryffindors, and somewhere in the back of her mind, Bobbie was hoping she would see the face of a boy she had smiled at, and the one who had smiled back at her. But before she could think anymore about it, Lily Evans and Severus Snape walked in, sitting on the same desk as Bobbie.

Severus didn't look at Bobbie, in fact, he barely looked at anything apart from his hands on the wooden desk, while Lily just smiled widely at Bobbie, making the young girl confused as to why the girl looked like a Cheshire cat. "What?" Bobbie signed as Lily squirmed in her seat, almost bursting with excitement.

"Someone was asking about you at the feast last night," she told Bobbie, who just swallowed, not knowing whether she should be nervous or happy about what Lily had told her. "May I ask who?" Bobbie signed, as Lily's eyes moved towards the door, her smile growing even wider, as she just shrugged.

"The boy who just walked through the door," Bobbie turned her head and saw four boys walking in; James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin, the one she had seen on the train. Eyes growing wide, Bobbie put her head down, her hair covering her face, and turned her head away from the four boys. Lily just furrowed her eyebrows, "Bobbie he's looking for you, why do you look so scared?" She mouthed softly, as Bobbie just shook her head, writing in her notepad.

"Why does he want to know me? I don't know him," she wrote to Lily who just rolled her eyes. As much as Bobbie was feeling excited that Remus was looking at her, she couldn't help but feel a wave of anxiety wash over her. She didn't know what to do, if she looked back at him would he try and talk to her, and if he tried to talk to her would he accept that she wouldn't be able to talk back with her voice. Bobbie didn't want to take the chance of being rejected - she didn't know if she could handle it.

She would never be able to hear his voice, but Bobbie could only imagine what it sounded like, it would sound just as he looked, soft, comforting, and warm. Bobbie had never been too concerned that she would never hear someone's voice, in fact she had come to terms with it a long time ago, but sometimes when she thought of her future, her heart would clench, but she would store it away and forget about it.

Lily grabbed her hand, comforting the girl who looked in a state of nervousness and sadness. "Bobbie, what's wrong, was it something I said." Lily mouthed, looking concerned for her friend, who shook her head. Composing herself back together, Bobbie straightened her back, swallowing the large lump in her throat, smiling at Lily.

"No, nothing's wrong, I promise." Bobbie wrote down, but Lily knew her friend better than that, and she wasn't about to let it go anytime soon. "Bobbie, if something is worrying you, I want to help."

Bobbie just looked at Severus, who was watching Professor Slughorn being talking, but Bobbie didn't trust him as far as she could throw him. She shook her head at Lily, "just forget about it, please." She wrote, as Lily just sighed, knowing she wouldn't be getting anything out of Bobbie for the rest of the lesson. It wasn't Bobbie didn't want to tell Lily, she confided everything in Lily, they didn't have any secrets, and although Severus wouldn't hear her speak it directly, she was sure he would understand her in one way or another because the young boy was smart, she knew that for sure, but sometimes the smartest people are the ones that hide the most secrets.

Remus couldn't focus on potions, and it was so unlike him that he was frustrated with himself. All night, Lily's words had gone around in his head multiple times 'when someone is quiet we look past them.' So when he entered the potions classroom, knowing he was in class with the Slytherins, he searched the room, looking at each person, and Lily was right, we look past them.

Sitting next to Lily, Remus noticed her. She was sat with her head down, her hair shaping her face, covering her eyes only leaving a slight gap for her to see the professor talking. He saw Lily talk to her, looking concerned, every so often he noticed her eyes fell upon himself. He couldn't help but wonder whether they were talking about him, and if so, was she thinking the same way he was thinking about her?

"You're staring again," James said beside him, smirking as Remus huffed. "As If you're not staring at Lily either," he muttered back to James, now focusing on Professor Slughorn.

James just laughed, before Slughorn shushed him. "I always look at my Lily-flower, I mean c'mon, who wouldn't." He told Remus, who rolled his eyes. "You like the girl, huh? Bobbie was it? Seen her around with Lily before actually, but she's a Slytherin so just thought she was up to no good like slimy Snape."

Remus just shook his head at his friend, "just because she's a Slytherin means nothing, we know nothing about her." He told his friend, who stared at him."

"Do you like her though, Remus?" James' exterior had changed, seeing Remus's facial expression, knowing this was more to Remus than he had originally thought. Remus just shrugged, not knowing the answer himself.

"I'm just curious, there's something about her." He told him, as James bumped his shoulder, showing the only affection he could think of at the time, to show his friend he understood. "Then we'll help you find out, let's face it if a girl got your attention, she's got to be special."

Remus just smiled at him. Although his friends were jokesters and pranksters, they were always there for Remus when he needed them, and just like now, nothing had changed.
