BEFORE STARTING THE NEW YEAR, THE SCHOOL WOULD HAVE THE WELCOMING FEAST, WITH ALL THE FIRST years being placed into their house. Normally, Remus would watch the young children being placed, and join in on the cheers that erupted when someone was placed in Gryffindor. But this year was different, Remus's mind couldn't seem to focus on anything, but the Slytherin table.

The young boy turned his head from left to right trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of the girl's face again but with half of the Slytherin table had their backs turned against him. His friends had noticed his staring and tried to find the direction he was looking in, "whatcha looking at Moony?"

James asked, breaking Remus out of his trance. "Huh? I'm not looking at anything," Remus told them, shaking his head. Peter raised an eyebrow, fidgeting in his seat, anxiously waiting for the food to appear on the table. "Actually for the last ten minutes he's been trailing his eyes up and down the table," he told them, as Remus just huffed knowing he wasn't able to keep anything to himself.

"Why are you looking at the Slytherins? Planning our next pranks?" Sirius asked, elbowing James who was staring at Lily, as Sirius just smirked at Remus, hoping he had come up with a plan. Remus just rolled his eyes, "that is the least of my worries." He muttered, breaking his eyes away from the table, and instead of looking at the headmaster, Dumbledore, who had finally finished his speech, announcing the feast was to begin.

Food appeared on the table and immediately the school began eating, grabbing anything and everything, especially Peter, who seemed to grab everything in sight. But once again, Remus couldn't focus, he wanted to know, he needed to know, there was just something about the girl that seemed different to him.

He turned his head to Sirius, who was arguing with James over who got what food. "Hey Sirius, do you know that girl who was on the train with Lily and Alice?" He asked, as Sirius just furrowed his eyebrows, thinking deeply. "I don't remember seeing her, but I most likely asked her out at some point." He shrugged, waving his hand in dismissal.

Remus just huffed, knowing he wasn't going to get anything else out of his friend, but Sirius was a curious boy, who wouldn't stop asking until he found out the answer. "Why do you ask Moony? Fancying yourself a date?" He asked, as Remus just shook his head, going back to eating his food.

"Just wanted to know, forget about it." He muttered quietly, as Sirius just smirked, knowing he would find out soon enough.

The first night in the common room back at Hogwarts was always enjoyable to everyone. The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and laughter. The older kids showed the first years around, telling them stories of Godric Gryffindor and the times of fun and laughter they would have in their seven years here.

This year, the first night at Hogwarts was a time of curiosity for Remus. He had decided the only way to figure out who this girl was, was to talk to the people he knew would tell him; Lily Evans and Alice Smith. Remus was the only marauder that the two girls talked to, in fact Lily often sat next to Remus in the library when the two studied, but of course the young boy would never tell James that.

"Hey Lily," he said, trying to catch the girl's attention, who immediately turned her head. "You know that girl you were sat with on the train, who was she?" He asked politely, as Lily looked at Alice and then back at Remus, smirking.

Lily just shrugged, "why do you ask?" She questioned him, though already knew the answer. Remus flushed slightly, shrugging his shoulders, staring down at his plate. "Just wanted to know, never seen her around before."

"She's the fifth year, like us, in Slytherin, her name's Bobbie Clyde." She told him, smiling slightly. Remus just furrowed his eyebrows, becoming more confused than ever. If the girl he had seen on the train for the first time was in fifth year, just like him, why hadn't he seen her? Surely he would have seen her in classes that consisted of both Gryffindor's and Slytherins or even just in the corridor.

This time it was Sirius's turn to place himself into the conversation he had been listening in to. "We have never seen this girl in our lives, is she a transfer? And most importantly, is she single?" Sirius was smacked in the back of the head, and Lily smirked at Remus who was now telling the black-haired boy to shut up.

Folding her arms, Lily lent forward on the table. "Number one, no she is not a transfer, she has been here for the last five years, just like us. Number two, Sirius you're a pig and number three the reason you haven't seen her for the past five years is because when you look past people, you tend not to notice them." Sirius opened his mouth, looking offended, ready to stand up for himself but Lily cut him off before he could try.

"When someone tends not to stand out in a crowd, people look past them. When people stay quiet and get on with stuff, you look past them too and all Bobbie wants to do is focus, so as I said, you look past her. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, Bobbie enjoys being alone with her thoughts and she doesn't like to be the center of attention, but sometimes the quietest people are the nicest and most interesting." She looked at Remus, smiling softly. "You of all people should know that in the first year you didn't say a word, but these loud morons became your friend and saw past your quietness, and that's what we did with Bobbie." She told him, knowing Remus would be more intrigued about her friend than ever.

And she was correct.

Remus sat in deep thought as Lily and Sirius continued on their conversation where Sirius insisted she took back her comment while the others looked on entertained by the scene. But Remus couldn't get her words out of his head, had he looked passed someone that was right in front of him all this time. He knew she must have been with Lily and Alice daily and almost every day he saw the two girls, he was always there when James was talking to Lily but not once had the girl caught his eye.

But now she would, she would be in his mind always until he finally figured her out, and he was determined to do just that.
