'Fear. If you haven't experienced it once in your life. You haven't truly lived. Babies have two fears: loud noises and falling. And I can tell you now, I still have those fears. Loud noises remind me off my mother's screams. Falling, well... You know that feeling when everything's out of control and you feel like no one can hear you? That's what falling feels like to me. Even Uma has fears, Mal has fears, Ben has fears, Evie has fears, Jay does, Carlos does, everyone has at least one fear. But you can't let that control you. What good does that do? I let fear consume me and I ran away from it, but it caught up. And yes, everything turned out okay. But I have a feeling deep down. A fear. That this isn't the end of the story just yet.'

Rain shuts the book. Well, it was no longer just a book, it was her spell book. Not her mother's old one, hers. She already wrote out all the spells she could remember and spells she wanted to try were stuck in with post-it notes. She'd told Ben this time; he wasn't fully on bored but once Rain explained it was harmless and half of them don't even work, he agreed to not mention it. Rain admits that she may have lied slightly though as she signs off.
