The following day was cloudy. If I would have known how things would go, I would have stayed in the hotel. But then I wouldn't have found a place to call a temporary home.

On that day I decided to go out for a walk. I just didn't want to spend the rest of the day in a hotel room. Especially, since it was on the fourth floor. Somehow it made me feel uneasy. Back then I wasn't sure why, but I didn't realize, it will come clear to me, a long time later.

I was waiting for the elevator, till I heard a door open. I didn't put much attention to it, since the elevator came. The doors were about to close, till another guest came in. She was a young schoolgirl with blond hair. I wasn't sure why, but I could sense something was off with her. Shouldn't she be at school? Why is she here? Those were my first thoughts, till we arrived down. I came out first and walked to the main doors. Outside the hotel, I checked my purse, which had my pencil and some money left.

Right then, someone stumbled on me and took my purse. It was that girl. She started to run away. I, of course, went after her, shouting at her to stop, but nothing. I don't know how far we ran, but we soon arrived at one dark alley.

"Stop! Give it back!" I yelled.

Realizing that she was surrounded, the girl did stop, but I could tell she wasn't going to give up my purse. For some reason, she had this look in her eyes that she has an upper hand in this situation. I soon learned that this world wasn't normal when fire appeared in her hand and she threw it at me. Well, she was into a surprise.

As soon as that fire came close to me, I grabbed it like fruit and squeezed it till it disappeared. Yeah, I expected to see that shocking look on her face. I bet she thought to be the only one with firepower. I could tell since she tried to blast me more, but I consumed all of them. However, that's when my left eye changed to different and my hair color changed to red.

"Are you an Evolver?" she asked.

A what?

Right, then, I felt something strange. as I tried to look forward, the entire view was getting blurry. I didn't know what was going on, but I still tried to get my purse back. So I ran at the girl to grab my purse back, but she wasn't going to give it up either, so she threw more fire at me, till she vanished along with the scenery.

Before I knew it, I stood in a different dark alley now. It was more spacious than the last one and the clouds started to make it look darker. As I looked around, I realized that I was teleported elsewhere, away from that girl. Who stole my purse and... my pen. My only way to get back home was taken from me and I was now stuck in this unknown world.

The more I realized what had happened, the more I started to ignore what was going on around me. Out of the shadows, someone tried to strike with a knife, but since I was shocked, the fire I collected started to spill out like a wave. I wasn't paying attention, but I did hear some yelling as someone got burned. Then more appeared and tried to attack me. I didn't get to see how, because right then the rain started. All that fire I collected started to turn to smoke and mist, covering the entire alley. That's when I snapped out and ran out from there. While running I got hit by something sharp and bump into something big. I didn't have time to see what it was as I finally got out to the street, while it rained a lot. It was pouring. There were no people outside, just me. I started to run away from there. I tried to find that same alley again. I know it sounds stupid excuse, but my mind kept saying me so, although I also wanted to get out from there.

I don't know how long I had run, but I knew I was far away from that dark alley, and at the same time, I knew I have dropped low. I had no money, nor my pen. Even the hotel key was in that stolen purse. I had nothing but the clothes I wore, which had gone wet by rain.

I wasn't sure where I was anymore and I started to get cold. I found a beautiful looking building and I noticed there was a small space to the door. Since I was cold and tired I decided to go there to wait till the rain stops. That's when I noticed how I looked. I had got a bruise on my left leg and a helm of my dress got thorned up a bit. Not to mention bruises on my wrists and ankle. I was so tired that I had to sit down on the ground. I started to wish whoever owned this place wouldn't be mean and ask me to go away. I was already having a bad day and I feared it was getting worse when I started to feel dizzy. I wasn't only robbed, wet and cold, I was getting sick too. I was feeling hopeless when I could sense someone coming to this building. Is it the owner? I couldn't tell, because I was already losing my consciousness. The last thing I saw was two purple eyes and a serious voice asking "Are you alright?"

I don't know how long I was out, but I did notice that I was resting in a soft bed in an unknown room. It was so fancy looking. It was way fancier than in the hotel. I tried to look around to figure out where I was. And I was sure I was in someone's room. Who's? I didn't know...

Then someone enters the room. A tall man came in. He had raven black side-parted hair that lightly brushes past his sharp arched eyebrows that frame his narrow purple eyes. Purple... Right then I realized he must be the owner of that building, where I stayed from the rain. He looked serious and unapproachable. But my parents told me not to go to conclusions too quickly. And something told me not to do it on him. How else, I am resting here?

"Where am I?" I asked him.

"In my home," he answered calmly, but cold seriously. "You passed out in front of my building. The doctor checked you, you have caught a cold and a big-time fever."

"How...how long I was out?"

"Three and a half hours," he answered.

Right then, my stomach growled. Considering what I have been through, I wasn't surprised. He gave me some black clothes, which felt to be his nightclothes.

"There's a bathroom connected to this room. You may take shower and change your clothes before I bring you some soup," he said to me calmly.

"Thank you, sir," I said to him.
