Heathers The Musical One Shot

The weekend was supposed to be one to go down in Westerburg history, and it would be remembered forever just not for the reasons that it was first thought. On Saturday night, Ram Sweeney had thrown the largest party known to Westerburg High, everyone was invited, and it was a scene of enjoyment. However, the fun was interrupted when the Heathers attempted to humiliate Martha Dumstock, luckily ruined by Veronica Sawyer.

It seemed that Heather Chandler was at the top of her game, kicking Veronica from her newly formed podium and had grown in her rule of the student body. However, when you got to school Monday morning, you were told through the assembly that Heather Chandler had taken her own life. It didn't seem right. She seemed to have everything anyone could have wanted but as her suicided note revealed she was missing a lot on an emotional level. In life Heather may have been a mythic bitch but you'd never have wished ill upon her. No tears came from your eyes though. You felt bad that she had suffered so, however you hoped maybe in the face of her death everyone would be far nicer.

School had been cancelled due to the loss, but before you headed back to your car you headed to the girl's bathroom. You planned to quickly use the toilet and head home to catch up with your homework, but your plans changed once you reached the restroom.

By the sinks, Heather McNamara stood hunched onto the ceramic bowl. Her blond hair fell around her face as she shook with each sob. Her yellow blazer was thrown onto the counter, her matching scrunchie strewn on top. The Heathers always looked immaculate; it was odd to see one of them in a state.

"Heather?" You said softly, not wanting to startle her.

She snapped her head towards you, her teary eyes peering through her light hair. Although a member of the Heathers, Heather McNamara was far nicer than Chandler of Duke. She had always been nicer to you when away from the other two, only joining in because of them.

"Y/N, right?" She whispered attempting to wipe away her tears but as she did more begun to fall.

"Yeah, are you okay?" You questioned.

"Yes," she whispered but with a cock of your eyebrow, she begun to violently shake her head.

You weren't sure what to do but hesitantly went to hug her. Once your arms were wrapped around her, she threw her arms around you too, letting herself to sob uncontrollably onto your shoulder.

You did your best to console her, gently rubbing her back and assuring her that it would all be okay. As the sobbing relented, she raised her head to look you in the eyes.

"I don't know what to do anymore. Heather was my best friend, and now she is gone forever. I don't know how to live without her," she whispered, her pain laced throughout her words.

"It's going to be okay. It won't be the same without her and that is going to be hard to cope with. However, I know you're strong and I know you want to get her back. Even if you cannot get her back, you can help change the world so no one else feels as though they have to end their lives like she did."

A small but weak smile crawled onto her lips.

"Thank you, Y/N. I really needed to hear that. Thank you so much."
