Heathers The Musical One Shot

You didn't enjoy the cliques that seemed to form within a high school environment. You didn't fit into any box that the other students wanted to put everyone in. It wasn't how you wanted to spend your teenage years as being trapped in a stereotype didn't sound appealing. You embraced what others deemed was weird and even the unpopular kids had formed their own group, you'd rather not have any friends than have to live by a stereotype.

As you did every day, you sat alone at lunch, eating your food whilst either reading or doing some homework, today picking to read a random book from the library, wishing to have something interesting to read and running low in your personal library. Letting yourself learn about the world or delve into a fictional land was how you enjoyed spending your lunch times but today it didn't seem like you were going to get the chance. The chair next to you was pulled out, a guy who had been in your literature class sat beside you. He was new to the school and you hadn't spoken to him, nor did you have any plans to. You weren't even sure of his name but just looking at him gave you chills; him having a creepy appearance, like someone who was willing to test the levels of human psychosis.

"Wouldn't it be nice to see the populars gone?" He sighed, acting as though the conversation was calming and normal. "Everyone could just be happy together."

"Even without the Heathers, there would still be separation. People don't like the unknown," you stated, not looking up from the page you were reading, hoping he'd realise that you didn't want to be in the conversation.

"It certainly wouldn't harm it though. Maybe then people wouldn't be scared to step out of their comfort zones," he shrugged.

You peered over your book to see an evil grin on his face. Although for most people, you'd assume this was a purely hypothetical conversation, you weren't sure of that with him. The look on his face sent fear through you as you knew pain and torture would soon break through.

Not wishing to be sucked into his psychosis and expected to assist in whatever illegal activity that swirled around his head, you decided to rise from your seat to go and hide out in the ladies' room until next class started.

"You cannot blame others for the pain you cause yourself. They may not be good people but that's on them, how you react is your problem."

With that you walked away from him, leaving him confused at the lunch table.
