When I woke up, it was night. I sat up, still a bit weak, and I looked around for any sign of life. I got out of bed and went into the main entrance and looked over to the pedestal. The mannequin was still at its post. I sighed.

Next, I went to Icess's room to check up on her. I poked my head in, and Icess looked over. She smiled.

"Glad to see you're up, Black Mist," she said cheerily. She patted the space by her, and I reluctantly went over.

"Was there a new victim while I was out?" I asked to steer away from the subject of Vector.

"Nah. No one was being stupid today," Icess answered. She looked over at me. "How are you? It's only been a few hours. You need more time to recover."

I snorted. "You clearly don't know how my body functions. I don't need so much time to recover." This was partially true. I definitely needed more than a few hours of rest.

Icess looked at me. "Why are you lying to me? I can see right through that lie. Go back to bed."

"Are you telling me what to do?" I asked indignantly.

"Look, I just want you to heal faster." Icess grabbed my left arm and led me back to my room. "Come on, we don't know if he's gonna come back."

I looked over to Icess, which proved to be a mistake. I started feeling drowsy. Icess caught me before I fell completely.

"Go to sleep now, Black Mist," she whispered into my ear. "I'll take care of the Manor while you're resting."

***********

I woke up back in bed. The sun was already high in the sky. I slept from night to noon. When I tried to move, my limbs refused to move. I sighed and layed still.

A creaking sound was heard in the main entrance, and a boom that shook the house, and fire erupted from the floor. I knew that the statue was at work. I looked over to the hidden floor, and a woman scurried out. That was a surprise. That was the first girl to explore Kraven Manor.

"L-leave me alone!" the frightened girl shouted. She ran into the closet thw moment she found out the door was locked. They always did that.

The bronze mannequin's thoughts echoed to those who could read minds, "Come back here, human!"

"You just have to overdo it, don't you?" I muttered under my breath. I watched, unseen by anyone, as an explosion happened in the closet. "Destroy the Manor again, why don't you?" I tried to move again, and I could finally move. I strained to get out of bed, which I eventually did.

I floated to the door and escaped through the wall next to it, knowing exactly what I would find there. As expected, the entire place was on fire with those stupid spheres flying around. Honestly, if the statue wanted victims so badly, why couldn't it just capture them when they turned their backs to it? That could have been much simpler.

The two raced out, and the battle began. To those of you who played the game or watched someone play it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's quite a scene, actually. So much fire and destruction. I couldn't help but giggle at the humans' futile attempts to get rid of the statue.

Icess came into the entrance hall. "This is going on again?" she wondered.

"Oh, yes," I answered from my perch. "All the fucking time." I patted the spot next to me. "The view's better from here."

Happily, Icess floated up to me. I stare at her.

"I had no idea you could do that..." I muttered.

Sitting next to me, Icess giggled. "I have your DNA in me, remember? That also means I can do this." She summoned one tentacle and wriggled it around.

I chuckled. "You call that a skill?" I summoned a bunch of my tentacles and smirked.

Icess pouted. "No fair," she pouted. "It's not like I've been training to do that."

"Honey," I started in a ghetto voice, "there ain't no training that builds instinct." We laughed as the door flew open and landed on the girl's head. We went to the unconscious body and took her down to the white room.
