Star Sapphire is a rare Star Gem 'born' among the stars from an era long forgotten. She's ancient and wise yet far from knowing the world well. She wears a rather fancy dress that pretty frilly and the two stars on it seem to sparkle like a real one. She once was on another planet, but was kidnapped and managed to escape into a pod ending up on Earth far from her actual home. She misses her home dearly, but has yet to find a way back.

Star Sapphire's future vision only works during the night when the stars shine. With the power of the celestial universe, she can foresee what the future may hold though she may not always be accurate. This was her job long ago, but now she may do it only for fun or to aid other Earthly beings while she's on the planet. Her eyes seem to reflect a starry night sky of their own and are rather pretty to look into if your looking at her face for whatever reason.

Star Sapphire was created by Brown Diamond, though her Diamond was shattered when their home planet exploded from a massive mechanical overdrive. She is among only a few 'Star Gems' that survived the blast off from home many thousands of years ago. She met Star Ruby on Earth and they've been close together since and they can fuse almost without much effort.
