Chapter 7
Pearls POV
I heard a crash near my window.
"So how was it Pale?" I asked the next morning.
I heard more crashing and knew it was Pale.
"Okay," Pale said outside my house. "If you can go through my windows, why can't I go through yours?"
"Because I'm a commoner," I said.
"I'll be right back," Pale said as she disappeared from the window cursing all the way down.
A twiddled my thumbs and a little while later, Pale opened the door to my room and sat on my bed.
"So, how did it go?" I asked again.
"Good," Pale said. "At first David was a little freaked out."
"A little?" I said raising an eyebrow.
"Okay," Pale said laughing. "Really freaked out. But he warmed up to us, after stamping out on my mom..."
I gasped. "But they got back together right?" I said worriedly.
"Of course!" Pale exclaimed.
"I've always wanted to see your mom Pale, was she beautiful? It takes a very beautiful women to catch the eyes of a merman, especially one who is in control of a kingdom," I said.
"I guess my mom is decent, she hasn't seen my father in years and they probably both changed a lot. Humans age quickly, we die soon, most don't make past 100," Pale said.
I frowned. "But they do have souls that live on forever."
Pale put her arm around me.
"It's okay, I know it's hard, once you die your gone, but that's life okay? We live longer than the humans anyway, so be thankful for that," Pale said.
I sniffled. Why was I breaking down? Every mer faces this.
Pale got up and swam to my shellphone on my white coral dresser.
"Do you think I can give Ally one of these? That way we can stay in touch?" Pale asked.
"Why don't you do that now? We have a few hours," I said.
"Okay, I guess I will, but where will I find another shellphone?" Pale asked.
"Just ask your dad, he'll probably give you one," I said.
"I'll do it as soon as possible, and hopefully I'll be back in time for my husband saving," Pale said swimming out the door.
