I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair and made my way to my locker, opening it as I got to it.

Switching my history textbook and binder with my math textbook and binder, I shut my locker.

"Hey baby." A voice behind me whispered in my ear as an arm snaked around my waist. I instantly turned around and shoved him off.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" He asked, smirking and put his hand on my lower back.

"Get away from me Austin" I snapped, annoyed. But he was pulled off of me by someone much bigger than him. My brother.

"She said get away from her man!" My brother, Lucas yelled, shoving him into a locker.

"Lucas-" I tried.

"Ly' I got it, just get to class" He said before landing a punch square on Austin's jaw.

I could hear Austin whimper in pain as Lucas kicked him in the stomach. "Now get lost punk" Lucas yelled as Austin ran off, holding his stomach.

"I had that, you know?" I groaned.

Lucas turned around and smirked, "I'm sure you did"

I rolled my eyes and turned around to walk to class before he put his arm around my shoulders. "You're my baby sis', I'm always gonna be here to protect you" He smiled, looking down at me.

"Oh goody" I faked enthusiasm as I kept walking and he stopped in the hallway, watching me leave.

//

Looking around, I tapped my pencil on my paper in thought. I glanced behind me for a second to see someone's eyes on me.

I turned back around and gave him a confused look. He just shook his head and returned his attention back to his test.

I looked back at my paper and began writing the answers to the questions on the test.

A few minutes later, I could feel something hitting the back of my head, "Psst" The guy whispered behind me and I turned around to give him an annoyed look.

"What?" I asked, not caring.

"What's the answer to question 3?" He asked.

"I'm not telling you, this is a test!" I snapped in a whisper.

"Ms. Reynolds, this is a test. Turn around, please" The teacher said from the front of the classroom and I turned around.

"Sorry Mrs. Winston" I apologized and continued answering the questions on the worksheet.

I internally groaned when not even a few seconds later, I felt another object hit my neck. I turned around and gave him a menacing look.

"What?!" I snapped.

"I just wanted to say thanks for giving me the answer to question three" He winked

My eyebrows knitted together as I looked down at my sheet, it was perfectly in view for him to see.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You're such a cheater!" I exclaimed not so quietly.

"Ms. Reynolds I thought I told you to turn around. Detention after school" Mrs. Winston said and began to write something down on a slip of paper before standing up and handing it to me. "Maybe next time you won't talk during a test" She said, walking back to her seat.

I closed my eyes and groaned. Thanks stupid cute guy for getting me a detention. I thought.

As the end of class rolled around, I handed in my test, but not before earning a dirty look from Mrs. Winston, I then returned to my seat, grabbing my books and binder before the bell rang signalling the end of class.

I walked out of class and I jumped in fright as a hand touched my back. "I'm Calvin" The guy who cheated off of me said, not removing his hand.

I slapped his hand away and narrowed my eyes at him, "I don't care" I said bluntly.

"Fiesty huh?" He smirked as we turned a corner.

I abruptly stopped in the hallway and faced him. "Is there a reason why you're still following me?"

He shrugged, "I don't know" He said and put his hands into his jean pockets.

"Good. Now why don't you go cheat off of someone else instead of wasting my time." I snapped, before turning and walking away.

This time he didn't follow.

//

It was finally the time I got to leave detention. Mr. Matthews let me leave early for helping him on something with no complaints. I grabbed my bag and walked out of the school.

I crossed the parking lot to my car and hopped in, starting the engine. It roared to life and I made my way home.

"Hey Ly'. Where were you?" Lucas asked me from in the living room as I walked inside my house and threw my bag onto the stairs.

"Detention. Some idiot who cheated off of me in Math class got me de-" I stopped talking abruptly as I saw what was going on in front of me as I walked into the living room.

"Did you need one of us to beat em' up?" My other brother, Dylan, asked. He furrowed his brows when I stopped talking. "Lyla?" Dylan asked again.

I narrowed my brows, "What is he doing here?" I yelled.

"Right, this is our new friend, his name is Calvin Porter" Aaron said, a bit uneasy.

"Hello Lyla. It's nice to meet you" Calvin said, getting up from the couch and walking up to me.

I snarled at him. My brothers all stood up and walked up to us, but not before turning the football game off.

"Something tells me you two know each other already?" Lucas asked, curiously.

Calvin looked down at me, as my attention shifted between all my brothers and Calvin.

"No. We don't" I lied and Dylan crossed his arms across his chest. "We don't" I clarified. Calvin smirked at me.

And they shrugged it off as they returned back to their seats on the couch.

"I need to talk to you" I said, grabbing his wrist and pulling him into the kitchen.

"Woah, slow down baby." He smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "You pig. Why are you at my house?" I snapped.

"Well it's called 'hanging out with friends', I don't know if you've really heard of it but it's when-" I cut him off.

"Be quiet and Listen" I snapped. "I don't want you in my house. I don't want you to hang out with my brothers and I most definitely don't want you to talk to me at all. Understood?" I raised my eyebrow.

He just smiled and chuckled, "Ooh, was that a threat?" He paused. "I'm sorry to say that I'm not leaving. Your brothers are my friends and I'm staying put. A little girl like you isn't going to tell me what to do" He snapped, his face was inches away from mine.

"I'm not a little girl" I argued.

"Really? The way you're acting tells me otherwise"

"Oh so you're my dad now?" If looks could kill, Calvin would be a heap of ashes on the floor right now.

He shook his head, looking to his left, and smiling as he turned his attention back to me. "I'm not leaving so don't plan on my absence"

"Better get used to me, princess" He winked at me and walked out of the kitchen leaving me stand there in shock.

I was completely angry. I am never going to survive without ripping his head off. It's even worse now that he's friends with my brothers.

//

I hummed along to the music that was playing through my earbuds as I finished up some of my homework.

One thing was on my mind and it was that I was going to have to live with Calvin coming over everyday and I would just have to ignore him. No matter what.

I could hear a faint knock on my door so I looked up and pulled my earbuds out of my ear to see if someone had really knocked.

Sure enough, I heard another soft knock on the door, "Come in!" I called.

The door opened to reveal Dylan, he walked in, shutting the door behind him. "Hey Ly'" He smiled before sitting down on my desk chair.

"Hey Dyl" I answered.

"Whatcha doing?"

"Homework for science. What's up?" I asked, curious as to why he was in my room.

"Uh, about earlier- when you met Calvin. Were you actually meeting him for the first time?" Dylan questioned. "Just wondering because I'm your brother and I know when you're angry and you were pretty angry when you saw him" He smiled.

I sighed and looked down at my hands, then back up at Dylan as he waited for an answer.

"I do know him. He- he was the one who got me detention" I said and Dylan sat up.

"I'm gonna go beat his-" Dylan clenched his fists.

"Dyl it's okay. It wasn't like I was stuck there for the whole time. Mr. Matthews let me go early. I don't want to ruin your friendship over something silly" I lied and smiled lightly.

Truth is, I wanted Dylan and my other brothers to have a friend. It seemed like they really enjoyed hanging out with each other seeing as I saw all four of them cheering and jumping up and down at the game earlier but I just wish there friend wasn't the obnoxious Calvin Porter.

Even though I despised Calvin. I was going to have to deal with it.

"Are you sure?" He asked and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Positive" I smiled and he nodded.

"Okay, but if he does anything else to you. He's gone. I don't care if he's my best friend or anything. He's gone" Dylan said with a serious face.

I nodded in understanding as Dylan got up and gave me a kiss on the forehead before leaving my room with a small smile.
