This was terrible to the point where when you look it up it's official name is Columbine High School Massacre. This was bombings, pipe bombs, and gun violence that took the lives of fifteen people. The shooters were seventeen and eighteen year-old boys and wished for the death rate to be much higher. After running the school for about an hour they turned the guns on themselves, adding to the death toll. Besides them one teacher and thirteen other students were murdered. Twenty-four others were wounded. Since this tragedy is especially terrible I will be writing a little about the students and teacher.

Dave Sanders, 47

Died in a classroom.

The only adult to die, he saved around 100 students. He eventually ran into the shooters. He dragged himself to safety where another teacher and students struggled to keep him alive. He died after three hours despite a sign being held in the window that read "I am bleeding to death.". His last words were "Tell my family I love them.".

Rachel Scott, 17

Died on the grass outside the school.

She was the first to die and had been bullied for her faith. The boy she was eating lunch with was left paralyzed. Her last words are as follows.

Shooter:*Lifts her by the hair* Do you still believe in God.

Rachel:You know I do.

Shooter:Then go be with him.

She was then shot in the head.

Daniel Rohrbough, 15

Died just outside the school.

He died just steps away from safety. He was on his way out of the building to get eat lunch when he was shot. He died on the sidewalk. His body lay in a puddle of blood outside the school for an entire day.

Kyle Velasquez, 16

Died in the library.

Died from shots in the head and back during the hostage situation in the library. He had suffered a stroke as a child. He had transferred to the school only three months ago and had just started to stay for lunch.

Cassie Bernall, 17

Died in the library.

In her earlier teenage years she had struggled with drugs and alcohol. She recovered though and got a fresh start at this school. She was studying in the library and hid under a computer table when the shooters came in. One slapped the top of the table twice, said "Peek-a-boo.", and then shot her in the side of the head. She died instantly.

Steven Curnow, 14

Died in the library.

The youngest victim planned to be a Navy top gun pilot. A huge Star Wars fan, he was awaiting the release of Star Wars I:The Phantom Menace. He never got to see it.

Corey DePooter, 17

Died in the library.

He died from a gunshot wound in the neck. He was described as the kind of American kid who put schoolwork before all else and was hardworking.

Daniel Mauser, 15

Died in the library.

He was told "Nice glasses." before he was shot in the face. Just a few weeks earlier he has expressed concerns about gun safety and asked about loopholes in the Brady Bill. The gun he was shot with was purchased through a loophole in the Brady Bill.

Isaiah Shoels, 18

Died in the library.

He was studying in the library with Matthew Kechter (victim) and Craig Scott (younger brother to Rachel Scoot. He proceeded to get everyone out of the library in the nick of time before the shooters returned.) and hid under a table with his two friends. The shooters called him racial slurs that I will not repeat and attempted to drag him out from under the table. When they couldn't, they shot him.

Kelly Fleming, 16

Died in the library.

She transferred to the school just three months before the shooting. She was writing poetry when the shooters came in. Due to lack of room, she was partly visible from her hiding spot under a table and was shot.

John Tomlin, 17

Died in the library.

Held the hand of a classmate, she lived, as they hid under a table. He was shot without the shooters so much as looking under the table. The other shooter went around and shot him in the head.

Lauren Townsend, 18

Died in the library.

She was shot more times then any other victims, but the reason behind that fact remains unknown. She kept to arm around her friend, who survived, and told her everything would be alright. Then she was shot dead.

Matthew Kechter, 16

Died in the library.

Died along with Isaiah Shoels (victim) and hid next to Craig Scott (younger brother to Rachel Scoot. He proceeded to get everyone out of the library in the nick of time before the shooters returned.). He was shot in the chest and died in a pool of his own blood.

I will not put the names of the shooters even though they died.

Many others were severely wounded.
