"Hey, Ed, do you see that? Up in that tree?"

As he looked away from you, buying the distraction, you quickly dropped to one knee and held out the ring you'd had so carefully crafted by the best jeweler in all of Narnia. When he turned his gaze back, his smile widened and one of his hands flew to his face in his surprise.

"But Y/N, I was going to do that today!"

You and he shared a moment of laughter before he realized that you were trembling (both with anxiety and with relief at his joking affirmation) and so took the ring, slipping it on his finger as he pulled you up to stand and meet him in a loving kiss.

"Do you still want the ring I got for you?"

You grinned and cupped your hands, holding them out to him in a sort of 'gimme' gesture.

"Oh, you know it."
