"Don't you see?"

You shot a bewildered glance at the other three Pevensies as Lucy motioned for them to stand along the old stone patio, but they seemed just as confused as you were.

"What?"

Lucy tut-tutted and pulled Peter's arm for him to stand where she was, doing the same to Susan and Edmund a moment later and leaving you be.

Out of the five of you, you were the only person who hadn't been to Narnia before, and so this was all a new and exciting (and somewhat frightening and disorienting) experience. The youngest of the Pevensies started describing something, a palace, maybe, and as she did, her siblings' expressions grew troubled.

"Cair Paravel..."

You gave a start as Edmund held up the chess piece he'd found a moment ago, studying it with renewed curiosity. Cair Paravel? But that was the castle they'd lived in the last time they'd come, wasn't it? The realization dawned on you and a look of horror appeared on your face, one that caused your four companions to pause and fix their gazes on you.

"By the stars..."

"What is it, Y/N?"

Your lip trembled as you tore your gaze from a circular boulder laying in a crescent swath of dirt.

"This- this was a battlefield. How long has it been since you were last here?"

No response from any of the Pevensies as they took this in. You swallowed nervously.

"How long has it been here?"
