There comes a moment in your life,
Like a window, and you see
Your future there before you
And how perfect life can be.

You felt like the luckiest person in all the world. You were in love with someone who returned your affections, your family was finally safe from the White Witch, and Narnia was entering in a new Golden Age with the four Pevensies and Kings and Queens. The boy you'd fallen for, High King Peter, was just about the best thing you could have asked for in a partner, and you felt beyond blessed to have him by your side. Everything in your life was perfect- except for one thing.

But adventure calls with unknown voices,
Pulling you away.

This cliffside glade, right along the sea and a short walk from Cair Paravel, was yours and Peter's favorite place to go and just be happy together. Lately, though, you'd been going there even without him, just for the view it gave you of the sea. For the eighth time that day, your gaze turned away from Peter and toward the sea again. You couldn't help it- it was like the ocean was calling to you, luring you in with promises of adventure and splendor. His smile faded and he sighed, causing you to wince and apologize as you turned back to him.

He knew well of your dream to sail to the end of the world, to live a life on the sea, and although he wholeheartedly supported you and your passions, this was the one desire he simply couldn't understand. It upset him to think that you were unhappy here, with him, and you could tell you'd accidentally triggered that discomfort, so you reached to him and took his hands in your own. He met your gaze and, after a moment, said this:

"Be careful or you may regret
The choice you make someday."

Little did you know, it was he who would regret a choice he made in the future, one that would tear him away from you permanently despite how he never intended to leave.

You offered a loving smile and tucked a strand of blonde hair behind his ear with a gentle hand.

"I will."
