Chapter 4.

After the nightmare I didn't get any extra sleep, so Mrs. Wendler and I just talked until the alarm went off signaling that all the other orphans would be waking up and getting down stairs soon.

That day wasn't any more special from the other days at the orphanage, we got assigned to do some chores. Then everyone did their own thing, for me that included being in my small room sitting at the window and watching the other children playing outside. Tomorrow was going to be my final day at this orphanage. Thinking about how my life could possibly change, I started packing my stuff and putting it in a small suitcase Mrs. Wendler got for me. I packed the clothes I got, placing the sweater my dad left me carefully on top. I also packed some pictures I got left from when I was really small and my stuffed animal I got when I got placed in the orphanage. It's a thing they do to make you feel at ease in the place. If only I knew back than that all the family's they put me in where going to be shit.

fast forward to Monday afternoonI

Today was the day I was leaving. I was really nervous and didn't get a lot of sleep, leading to me being a lot more tired than I wanted to be. I stayed up thinking about how I was not going to miss this place and the other children here. But that I didn't want to leave mrs. Wendler.

Mrs. Wendler shook me out of my thoughts and told me we were going to be leaving to the airport now and I should get my stuff from upstairs. I ran upstairs and grabbed the suitcase I packed. I stood in the door opening for a couple seconds, giving my room some last couple glances. I heard Mrs. Wendler scream something about needing to hurry because we were already late. I rushed downstairs and got into the car. Then it rushed off, this was it.

In 30 minutes we got to the airport and Mrs. Wendler tightly gripped my hand and led me the way to the check-in. There weren't a lot of occasions where I got to go outside, we only got to play outside in the garden of the orphanage and we walked to school. So being in an airport was definitely something that I found scary, it was just too busy for my liking. I stood patiently besides Mrs. Wendler when she checked me in. After that she took me to a slightly less busier part of the airport, we sat down.

"I checked you in for your flight", Mrs. Wendler said looking if I was listening to her, "in one hour you need to go through security and I can't go with you after that anymore." I looked at her panicked. How was I going to survive on my own in a place I've never been before, while having social anxiety and once again not knowing where I am. She saw I was getting panicked. "You won't have to worry, you'll only have to board after the security check. You're boarding at K5, so you only have to follow the boards at the ceiling saying K5. You can wait there until you can board which is also 1 hour after the security. But it will all be alright, okay? You can always ask anyone for help if you think you need help or if you forgot where you need to go. Just stick to your ticket, Bella." Mrs. Wendler said. "I will, thank you Mrs. Wendler" I told her.

That one hour flooded by like crazy, before I knew it I was saying my goodbyes to Mrs. Wendler at the security check. I got through it without any problems and I was glad that it was less busier at this part of the airport and I followed the boards with K5 on it. When the boards stopped telling me which way to go for K5, I panicked a little. I looked around me, there were a lot of benches and big windows you could see the planes through. There were already a couple people seated on the benches, so I slowly approached a older woman sitting on the benches. "Pardon", I quietly asked, she looked up at me waiting for me to ask her something. "Do you know where boarding K5 is?" She smiled lovingly at me and said "You are at boarding platform K5, love, you can sit with me if you want. I'll help you board if you want." I thanked her and sat beside her waiting until I got a sign from her. She kept talking to me but I wasn't fully listening to her, I was really tired since not getting a lot of sleep for 2 nights straight.

Sorry for not uploading for a long time. School has started again and I've been busy. I don't know if I'm proud of this chapter but I needed to build up to Bella boarding the plane. Max and Nev will come into the next chapter! So that one will be better! Hope you like it and please tell me if I made any mistakes since I'm Dutch and my grammar isn't the best.
