Jercy -  - Oneshot #79

"Come on Jason" Percy laughed, excited as he ran through the empty field. "Okay! I'm coming!" Jason exclaimed, grinning like an idiot as he chased the teen through the field.

The smell of flowers and dirt filled his nostrils. The rays of sunlight pouring down in them, warming them.

The long grass tickling Percy's bare feet.

Coming to a slow stop, Percy looked at the blonde. "Caught up?" He teased lightly, both panting.

Jason, out of breathy, gave him a goofy grin and a mute nod.

Percy replied with another smile. His eyes shining with happiness as he knelt to the ground.

"This–" he breathed heavily, "–is where I go when my mom works." He explained.

Jason nodded. Remembering how his mother worked in a science lab right outside of town. Just like his own mother.

"It's amazing." He told Percy, regaining his breath as he looked around.

"See that forest?" Percy questioned, pointing to a dark forest a few blocks away. "Yeah. Looks cool." Jason commented.

"Then let's go!" Percy said. "Have you not already been there?" Jason asked, a little confused.

"No." Percy admitted. "I was hoping to explore it with you."

Percy and Jason held each other. Moans from their friends and family came from outside the door. Their bare nails could be heard scratching at the old wood.

Each steps they took made the floors creak.

"This is a public service announcement. This is only a test. Emergency evacuation protest." Percy sand softly, Jason's body being held tighter to his chest. He could feel his shoulder sting, the torn fabric giving his arm a breeze.

Jason shivered, the bite in his neck sticky with blood. The bite mark clear to be seen, and he felt constant pain he could compare to stabbing at his neck.

"May impair your ability to operate machinery. Can't quite tell just what it means to me." Percy continued, his voice a little shaky.

"Keep out of reach of children. Don't you talk to strangers. Get your philosophy from a bumper sticker." Percy sang. Jason feeling a small tear run down his cheek.

"Wow." Jason breathed, his eyes stuck on the scene. "Yeah." Percy agreed.

The sunset from where they were at was amazing. It almost made up for how Percy had gotten his arms torn up on his way up the branches, or how Jason nearly fell to his death.

The arrangement of lightened red, pink, yellow, orange, and even blue/purple clouds was breathtaking. And the humid air made Percy tired.

The trees around them were luscious shades of greens.

"I think I love you." Jason stated, eyes trained on the sunset.

Percy felt his face heat up in a blush, his lips peeking up in a smile. "I think I love you too." He tells the blonde, his left hand's grip tightening over his branch as he leaned closer to him.

"Percy, be careful." Jason protested lightly, but was proven silent as Percy's fingers were placed over his.

Jason whimpered, feeling his body loose more and more control.

His bones felt like they shifted with each step, and his vision was blurred.

He could feel Percy's body start to slow down. And his voice starting to be unrecognizable, just on the bridge of a groan.

"I love you." He whispered, kissing Jason's bloody cheek. Then putting his forehead on his (also) bloody shoulder as he kneeled down.

The dancing stopped, and Jason kneeled down too.

Their bodies were close. The boys clinging onto each other. Jason could feel himself start to tremble again.

His brain was going fuzzy.

Percy sat at the Grace's long, wooden table. The center had a nice, blue vase. The case contained flowers that Percy had given Jason after their trip in the Forrest a few days ago.

Blushing pink at the memory, Percy tried to calm his nerves.

His mom didn't come home last night. So he was at Jason's, to see if Beryl (his mother) came home that might either.

Thalia walked into the kitchen. She was wearing some black pants, a belt of thick rope, and a grey shirt. Percy guessed it used to be a dress, but was cut— knowing how Thalia was.

"Why're you here?" Thalia questioned, her choppy black hair in her face. Her blue eyes (which her exactly like Jason's!) peering at him.

"My mom didn't come home last night." Percy states.

Thalia hummed, "That's weird, our. . . Mom. . . Didn't come home either." She said, eyebrows furred in confusion. She had said the word 'mom' like it was the plague, spitting it off the tip of her tongue.

Just then, their door swung open.

"There she is!" Thalia said to Percy.

"Hey!" Thalia then greeted, Beryl staggering in. Her eyes were bloodshot, face pale.

Oh, and she was covered in blood!

"What happened?!" Thalia exclaimed, her eyes widening in horror.

Her mother groaned, moaning as she staggered to her daughter. "Beryl?" Percy asked, right as she grabbed Thalia's arm.

"What are y— ah!" Thalia screamed, her mother taking a bite of her pale flesh.

Thalia cursed and pushed the woman away, her body pressed against the wall as she grabbed a spoon.

"Get Jason and run!" Thalia instructed, "Thalia—"

"Now Perseus!"

Jason could no longer feel anything. His brain buzzed loudly, ears filled with the sounds of Percy's soft groans, and his friends outside as they groaned louder and louder.

Nails scratching the walls, Jason was tempted to join them.

"They're zombies." Jason panted, the two escaping their village to a broken down building.

"O-oh my go-gods." Percy said, his hand holding onto a crown bar shakily.

Jason held a wooden branch, heavily breathing as he leaned against the wall.

"We es—" before he could finish, his eyes widened.

Percy saw a head of a zombie burst through the wall, biting Jason as it's hands pulled him backwards.

"No!" Percy screamed, rushing to Jason.

"Percy. Stop." Jason protested through grinding teeth.

But it was too late, Percy hit off the hands of the creature, and took Jason's place.

The raven haired boy was almost instantly bitten. Making no noise as Jason finished the creature off.

Then, they both started to bleed.

"This is it." Jason stated.

"Yeah." Percy whispered.

"Dance with me?" He asked.

Jason looked at him confused. "One last dance." Percy continued, getting to his feet and taking Jason in his arms.

"Okay." Jason softly agreed.

"One last dance." Percy said with the last of his humanity. "I love you." Jason said.

For the last time.

They danced.
