▬▬▬▬▬▬

Name: Odin Davir Askarion

Name meaning:
Odin - Rage, frenzy, inspiration. Of Scandinavian origin; the highest Norse God

Davir - from the root 'David', meaning 'beloved'. Also the name of Davir Whiteheart, an infamous warrior ancestor of his house

Askārion - From the Arabic 'Askar' meaning 'soldier/army', also translated in the ancient northern languages as 'white whisperer'

Nicknames: Odi, Odie, Davey, Askar, "Ohdear"

Aliases:
Odin Whitescar (on account of his hair, the scar on his cheek and rhyme whith his surname)
the White Knight - in reference to his shock of white hair and pale complexion, especially atop his silver thoroughbred mare
Davey the Dread -a nickname given to him as a boy - it was a nickname that both pleased its wearer for it made him feel fearless and a proper warrior, and his elders who knew of course they were referring to his dreaded tantrums and rages. It sort of stuck and those who knew him them still call him it affectionately
Lord Askārion - his correct title, although he's always felt it's a title that doesn't fit him.

House: Askarion. Their sigil is a white hand clutching a bleeding heart on a grey-blue field. They were primary vassals of House Stormfjell

Kingdom: Valendor

Age: 22

Gender: cis male

Romantic Orientation: He slightly looks down on romance but would probably be a bit of a puppy in love. Either that or furious

Sexual orientation: bicurious, but pretty heteronormative. He's the sort to make jokes about non-hets but be very disturbed by himself if he ever strayed that way

Appearance: Davey Oldenburg, but with slightly scruffier hair and thin scarring on the left side of his face (see bottom image)

Odin stands at 6'3.5" although his broad shoulders give the impression he is taller than he is and generally stands well above his peers. His natural build is lean, like the rest of his family who were tall and slim (Odin being the shortest), but years of gruelling training for combat have built up muscle and brawn. He is pale skinned, with milky white hair that shines almost silver in the sun. He has sea-green eyes, and thin scarring on the left side of his face (as above, but less obvious to the eye). He has grown so tired of people asking him again and again and again about the origins of these scars, that he now delights in making up a different story each time, so that no one knows the real story.

Personality: Perhaps Odin's most prevalent trait is his passion and energy that he brings. He is not one for idleness and never has been. As a boy he was hopeless at staying still, and was much more at peace when shooting targets with bow and arrow or on horseback. He was not a very popular boy, being hot-blooded by nature he often started fights, getting into a rage and injured people more than once. But when he wasn't throwing tantrums he could be a very bright hearted young lad, with surprising warmth. He often wooed adults and made enemies of other children with this behaviour. He is certainly charismatic, in his own skewed way. Perhaps it is his passion that makes people listen and want to believe him, as he follows his aims to the very end. When I say skewed, I mean it. Odin is not plain sailing by any means. He's a pain in the arse, a bit of a brat, and quite often a liability. He gets so obsessive over his goals that sometimes he loses sight of everything else. His rage is very much bubbling under the surface, and he can often let it bubble over if someone pokes him too much. He enjoys being arrogant and playful, almost relentlessly so, his humour always bordering on what is acceptable in the outrageous. He enjoys flirting and likes his women. He may not be the sharpest tool in the box in terms of diplomacy, but it would be a mistake to write him off as a complete idiot. The very fact that he has survived this long without losing his head so far is testament to it. First and foremost, he is an excellent fighter across a spectrum of disciplines. Subtlety was never really his thing, but he is surprisingly clever and has learned how to be his patient. Patience is the warrior's virtue after all. He has a good heart. Sort of. He is trying to do good. It may be cold-blooded revenge, but it is revenge of those innocent who lost their lives. Sometimes he cries so hard it seems about nothing at all, but he knows it is that deep unhealed wound of the loss he suffered. He hopes to avenge the dead and their lovers, one way or another.

Ever the hot-blooded, Odin does not produce grey or average responses in people. It is either love or hate, sometimes both simultaneously. He is not easy to love, but he might just need it.

Positive traits:
Passionate, dizzyingly determined, energetic, charismatic, protective

Negative traits:
Hot-blooded, reckless, prone to rage, revengeful, volatile

Strengths:
Combat - for a large part of his life, combat and physical training became his all-consuming obsession. He is capable in almost all areas, from horsemanship to jousting, archery and heavyweight fighting. Not only is he highly skilled, but turns into something else when he's fighting. Something in his brain switches, and his focus becomes so acute he almost loses consciousness of the outside world. In other words, 'in the zone'. He is aggressive on the battlefield, and has built up a high pain threshold so he's not easy to beat.

Public speaking - despite all his highly dubious qualities, Odin is popular with the crowds. He is a charismatic people's person, and knows how to rile people up or send them into fits of laughter. People follow him because of this, and he makes you feel like you are worth something

Determined - Odin is brave, and will fight for what he believes in. Not necessarily in the chivalrous sense, but in the 'get-it-done-at-all-costs' way. His courage means he is not afraid to put himself on the line, and he is fiercely protective; of his past, his bloodline, and those few little people left he can claim to love

Weaknessess
Rash - this side of him comes hand in hand with his 'live in the moment' behaviour. He is quick to make decisions (or rather, quick to act before he has thoroughly thought out these decisions). He angers very quickly, and his rage can be lethal, and on numerous occasions that has come to bite him in the back.

Volatile - with this, comes a certain volatile nature. This is worsened by the fact that he hides his emotions (excluding anger, so things like grief, fear, loneliness) from the outside eye. It has probably come from the fact that he suffered a great trauma at a young age, and as a result has not had a mother or father to guide him through his hardships and show him how to deal with such emotions. In a sense, he has never truly recovered from the hell that was the massacre at Nighthold.

Impertinent - in many ways, Odin is still very childish. He enjoys foolery and play, including women and drink. He can be witty and outrageous, and loves to offend if humour can be drawn from it. Although better than he was, he still needs to learn to hold his tongue. There is still an air of mystery to him - he harbours his fair share of secrets, but it is the callous insults he throws that can get him into trouble, or in some cases draw people to him.

Backstory: Odin was a young boy at the time of the massacre at Nighthold. The Askarions had been staunch vassals of the Stormfjells for centuries, with one at the side of every Stormfjell ruler in one way or another, as their army's commander, advisor, wife, castellan, horseman and so forth. Odin was the youngest of four children, all of whom, with his parents were at Nighthold on that fateful day. He was not taken because he was not old enough to be of use there, and he could be a pain as a child so was left at Bonehill, their seat with the castle staff. News spread quickly, and Odin screamed and raged about killing the Staedmons, eliminating every single one of them with his own blade. He was always an energetic passionate young lad, and it only seemed to intensify tenfold after the tragedy. He was old enough to bear the weight of the gross injustice that had occurred, but too young to process that grief without considerable help. He seemed incapable of sadness, channeling it all through anger and desire for revenge. He shrugged off his Lordly duties to the castellan, and set his mind to fighting. Day and night he trained with steel, sweat and tears. By fifteen he had mastered horse-combat, swordsmanship, heavy-armoured fighting and its counterpart. Fighting became his world. After a few years, competition faded. He was aggressive and highly skilled, and was better by miles than most sparring partners. It was at this time, during his late teens that he began to open his eyes to his Lordly duties, and his wildness naturally subsided. For all his vices, he was naturally charismatic (albeit a bit skewed), and was generally good with people when he behaved himself. No one envied his castellan, the man acting now as his senior advisor, because Odin was always on the edge between being charismatic and distastefully arrogant, humorous and impertinent, success or disaster.

House Askārion

House Askārion is a minor house in the northern region of Valendor, and one of the major vassals to House Stormfjell. Their sigil is a pale hand clutching a bleeding heart - both a symbol of vitality and mortality, of compassion and cruelty, of purity and impure mortal flesh. Their founder was Ialfur Askārion, an exiled Seidon who sacrificed the heart of the great Raven of the North, a mythical huge white raven, to the god TuKuk. This was both a wondrous and terrible thing to do, because it was bold to slaughter the legendary creature that surely had a touch of the divine in it , but also a great sacrifice and the greatest that the poor man could give. Accounts differ between whether it was the Lord Stormfjell or TuKuk himself who granted Isayon a title, and decreed the place of the sacrificed Raven of the North to be their seat. Hence the name 'Bonehill', as the castle sits atop the bones of the legend that died that day.

Bonehill certainly does not have the glamour of the seats of the High Houses, but it is not totally charmless. Generally a dark and stormy place, Bonehill sits not far from the sea's edge, its pale stone walls looks striking in the brooding landscape, and grows blue flowers up its walls during spring. It can be quite enchanting in its own way. It is known for having good facilities to train young men and occasionally women in combat. They are also known in the region for their white ravens that roost in Bonehill.

PHYSICAL TRAITS:
Odin is currently the last surviving member of House Askārion. His father was Dalton Askarion, his mother Luciana. He had two brothers named Victaris and Janis, and a sister named Estrid who were all older and taller. The Askārions are traditionally pale, blonde and slim. There is a running joke amongst those acquainted with the House that the Askār women are taller than half the men in Valendor. This is largely true - whilst some Askar offspring have had chestnut hair or skin that tanned nicely in the sun, they are almost always tall. Pomona Askarion, Odin's great grandmother, was said to be six feet and six inches. Another common jape related to this is that the origin story of the house is a little different - it might be said Askārions were in fact a family of giants, and they accidentally squashed a poor farmer or baervolf when sitting down, hence the bleeding heart. Others differ, with dramatic accounts of heart attacks that befell giants with weak hearts.

Religiosity:
Odin is a brash young man who's actions move faster than his thoughts. He would be quick to dismiss divine powers, saying "where were they when my family were being slaughtered?" He isn't inclined to daydreamy thoughts and is anchored in the practical rather than enchanting stories of myths. But he believes in the power of magic, and is not so firmly empirical as to dismiss some Other power at all.

Pets/companions:
Odin has two horses; a handsome black war-stallion named Menelaus. He's a very good boy, but to Odin only. His other mount is a grey (silvery white) mare named Elysia.

Alignment:
Highly, highly chaotic. He is not strictly good because, well, he wouldn't hesitate to kill a certain someone and revenge isn't exactly a virtue, but neither is he hellbent on making the innocent suffer. He has no interest in the innocent, and his morality is by no means straightforward.

Quotes:
"What doesn't kill me better run"

"No one would hurt you again, or I'd kill them."

"If he puts his hands on you, cut them off"

"You have no idea how bad it gets"

"Angels would damn themselves for me"

"The blood on my sigil will be his blood, if it's the last thing I do."

"If I die, you better find some other tall blonde fucker to finish the job for me"

This form is still a WIP, but I wanted to publish it to show you a template of some kind. Other information is either redacted or to be added soon. Some parts like the Likes/Dislikes section are embedded into others. I hope you like him. There is also more lore to come, including the events of the tragedy at Nighthold.
