Princess Amori's POV

It is now 8 and people are starting to appear into the grand ball room. This would be wonderful if it wasn't for the circumstance of finding a potential husband.

I idlily stand to the doors of the ball room, quite hesitant. That's when a guy, to whom I'd only assume to be a prince pushes me aside.

"Move." He harshly said as he made his way into the ballroom.

I didn't get a look at the guy before he disappeared but I sure hope I don't run into him again. Yet thanks to him my nerves got a tad more unnerved. I start scratching my hands out of habit. I tend to do that when I am nervous. Staring at this large oak door makes me unintentionally scratch too hard, but I didn't notice that till a hand grabbed my wrist.

"Stop, your gonna hurt your hands again." A familiar voice said. I quickly look over to the person and all my nerves disappeared. "Your gonna do great... just don't fall in love... uh I mean not too quickly." Max says and gives me a reassuring smile.

The smile he gave me, gave myself the confidence I needed. I really hope tonight ends up a bust cause I swear this boy is gonna take the king role faster then anyone.

I smile at Max before taking a deep breath and then finally enter into the ballroom. Princess's and Princes were mingling, and they all looked astonishing. The princesses were wearing beautiful ball gowns and the Princes wore their fine tailored suits, everyone looking for swooning the others. Typical. I sigh and make my way directly to the food table, where I hope no one talks to me. There are plenty of beautiful women here.

Not really paying attention,  a few hours of the night went by, and a few boys did try to talk to me. Landon from the Fremenik kingdom tried to strike up a conversation about marriage, yet he seemed very uncomfortable doing so. After lightening up to each other he confessed he was in love with a local baker named Jeremey, and I smiled and told him that I liked the stable boy. When the conversation finished, he wished me good luck, and I told him that as well. That's basically what happened during the night, people would approach for the topic of marriage, yet at the end of the conversation they confessed stuff to me and made their back into the party. I don't mind being a person people vented to, it makes me kind of happy.

After awhile I look around and saw a prince with ashy blonde hair and kind of a dark attire, sitting in the back of the room. No one approached him all night, and he kind of gives off a 'don't talk to me vibe. I watch for a moment, looking around to see if anyone would approach him, but it was no luck. This was shocking to me cause out of all the Princes here, he definitely fits in the attractive side, well in my opinion anyways. So why wasn't any of the girls here trying to swoon him?

The curiosity took the better of me, if those stories of 'don't mess with the kid in the back of the class' from the villages were real, I am defiantly crossing the line each step I take. Closer and closer I go to approach this guy who could possibly be dangerous... no. I can't think like everyone else. Everyone has their own story, and I am gonna figure out his.

I finally reach the tall prince, he was leaning on the wall looking up into the sky with a cup of whine. Yet once he sensed my presence he shot his cold bluish grey eyes in my direction. Maybe then I should have walked away, like this was a warning of some sort that I don't understand. Sadly I don't listen to the warning and push further. With a big smile I extended my hand towards the Prince.

"Pleaser to make your acquaintance, I am Amori Oaksmaid." I say to the man.

He stares at me with eyes that looked like they had no meaning in them, like they were empty, conflicted. I awkwardly have my hand extended for a few more moments before plopping it to my side and eyeing the man.

"Alrighty then Mr. gloom... what's your story?"
