She is stubborn and headstrong and prideful and often disregards or ignores others' opinions in favour of her own, regardless of facts. Personality: Elia is a feisty girl with a raging fire to complement Gwen's cool and cutting wit. She is compassionate for her friends, but doesn't mind killing or death. She is not to be swayed from her principles and she's always ready to argue or debate a topic. Backstory: Elia was born to parents Otto and Leah Jakob, both Jews. She was raised as a compassionate, happy child with plenty of sources for intellectual debate and learning. Her mother died from cancer when Ely was ten and her father followed of a broken heart when Ely was fifteen. Ely had her heart set on science from the time of her childhood and grew up to become a lab assistant for Dr. Bruce Banner. During an experiment gone wrong, the doctor wasn't the only one affected by the gamma radiation - Elia was transformed into a super-soldier. Alone, presumed dead, and frightened by her new abilities, Elia was found by Gwen and adopted into the fold of The Hand as The Shield, becoming inseparable from Gwen and perfectly fitting alongside The Sword.
Other: Elia adores the stories of superheroes and secretly wishes to be like them, however much she knows Gwen would hate it. She quite likes SHIELD, but like Gwen, hates Hydra.
