Nova’s POV

We’d been on the ship for a couple of days now, and although Bae was getting used to being here, we rarely spent any time together. At the moment he was below deck probably planning our escape, as he still hated the concept of pirates, whilst I was stood with Hook learning how to control the ship.

“You’re a natural,” He chuckled as I let go of the wheel.

“Thank you,” I smiled softly.

As I looked over his shoulder I could see my brother walking towards us but with hatred deep in his eyes. He never looked happy at Hook but this time he looked murderous.

“Face me villain,” He growled lifting up a sword and swinging it at him.

“What is this about?” Hook questioned trying to stop him.

“I found this on your desk,” He stated showing a picture of our Mother.

I looked at the picture then looked at Hook who was clearly shielding me from my sword wielding brother.

“Bae-“ Hook stated but I cut him off.

“There has to be a rational explanation for this.”

“Of course, it’s that he killed our Mother,” Bae hissed trying to hit Hook again.

Before the blade could hit the pirate I stood in the way of it letting it cut across my shoulder. The pain was intense as I held onto the ripped bloody cloth of one of Hook’s shirts that lay over the cut.

“Bae, put the sword down and let’s talk about this like real people,” I hissed through gritted teeth.

He threw the sword to the ground rushing over to me. I pulled out of his grasp accidently bumping into Hook.

“Nova I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” He whispered.

“Bae, just be quiet. Let Hook explain for heaven’s sake,” I growled in pain.

“Your Mother came to me when she left your Father and we fell in love. We were discussing coming back for you two when you were older so we could be a family. Then your Father found us and he ripped her heart out and crushed it in front of me. I didn’t kill her, he did,” Hook explained as he was now supporting me as I slowly became weaker.

It sounded like something he’d do after he got all of his power. He became ruthless and killing the woman who left him seemed like something she’d end up doing when he had no control of the goodness in his life anymore.

“Before you start telling me how wrong I was about Father, can I get a little help please?” I whispered as the pain intensified.

Together the pair of them wrapped fabric around my shoulder to stop the bleeding. It worked well and it stopped most of the pain before I had to face the emotional pain of my Brother.

“Okay before you start saying ‘I told you so’ can I clear this part up. Father may have killed her but she left us, and he stood by us no matter what. When we were forced to fight in the Ogre Wars he made sure he could save us because he loved us. She loved us too but they didn’t love one another, so don’t take it out on Killian or Father, you’re as bad as both of our parents and Killian put together,” I sighed.

With that he didn’t say anything to me; he simply told Hook that he wanted to leave the ship, so he agreed changing the bearings of the ship so we were heading for the main land of Neverland.

Whilst Bae sat on deck sulking I stood by Hook, ready to talk to him away from my brother.

“Do I have to go with him?” I questioned softly.

“Do you not want to?” He asked.

“No, I know he’s family and you and your crew are strangers but I’d rather stay here than be sent away with him,” I sighed.

Bae was the only one I had left but I didn’t know how long our differing of opinions would last. So the only thing we could do is hope we’d meet again in the near future at some point.

“Go below deck, I won’t let him take you,” He whispered.

I nodded not really knowing how this would work but I trusted that this would work because if not, I was stuck fending for myself.

Bae gave me a look of concern as I walked passed him making my way through the hatch and down below deck to sit on one of the bunks.

I sat on the bunk that I had come accustomed to, that had a couple of thin blanket’s and Hook’s long black jacket on it. After he put me in it the night he found it, he let me keep it as it was warm and I didn’t have anything to keep me warm, so it worked. As no women were on this ship and there was the bare minimal in this whole land so I had to wear his clothing anyway, so his coat was just a nice warm asset.

As I sat there I fiddled with the buttons on the jacket as there was way too many of them for the coat.

I was in the small room for at least an hour and after a bit of noise the hatch opened. For some reason I was scared of who would be there, the worst it could really be was Bae and he never really scared me. As the hatch opened the dark haired pirate appeared with a smile on his face.

“Baelfire has gone to the main land Smee is steering the ship away from the main land meaning that you don’t need to worry about him coming back for you,” He smiled taking a seat on my bunk next to me, “Now do you want to explain to me why you don’t particularly like your brother?”

I sighed, “I know you hate my Father, and I know he’s not a saint but I loved him more than anyone in the world, no matter what terrible things he did. Just Bae thought that if we could take his powers away then he’d go back to the way he was before. But he used his powers to control his grief of losing our Mother, when she left. So Bae then decided the only way to get him back to the way he was before was to take us to a far off land where there wasn’t any magic. Just when we used the magic bean our Father didn’t want to go and neither did I, so when Bae went to go through the portal without him, he dragged me with him.”

“Even though he did that, you’d rather spend your time with the pirate who fell in love with your Mother and was the reason why she left your Father?” he chuckled.

I chuckled putting the jacket down next to me. I guess it was a bit weird choosing him over my brother if you put it that way, but I couldn’t handle Bae’s company for any longer.
