Devin had just finished getting dressed for the day. Thankfully, it was the weekend so he didn't have to face a school full of bigots, homophobes, and just general hateful people. It was truly hell to go through an all white, upper-class high school as a gay individual, and even worse being a closeted transgender. It was bad to have someone call you names such as "faggot" to your face. At least you could fight back against that. But there was unbearable pain involved with people making fun of you without even knowing it.

"It was good talking to you too, Miss Sola." Ricky waltzed into Devin's room as he waved off his mom. Devin gave him a questioning look and Ricky began to shake his head, laughing a bit. Miss Sola was the type of mother who thought she was "hip". Since she was single, she took it as a sign that she was young and in touch with teens. She always tried to strike up conversations with Devin and his friends, especially Ricky since he was over so often.

"You look nice today." Ricky mumbled with a crooked smirk as he took a seat on Devin's bed and kicked his sneakers off. He stripped out of his sweatshirt and tight jeans before snuggling into the blankets as if they were his own. Devin blushed and looked away, a bit embarrassed. He hadn't even put on makeup and, in his eyes, he never looked nice. Devin pulled his own pants off too, laying down and wrapping an arm around Ricky.

"Did you shave your legs?" Ricky asked as he twisted his limbs with Devin's. Devin nodded slowly, his mouth dry and heart beating fast. He wasn't sure how Ricky would react. They had been friends for the longest time but that started when they were straight little boys who couldn't help but be seen as similar. And then they grew up, found other interest and began to split a bit. It didn't help that when they both came out as gay, everyone tried to force them together. They had to pretend to hate each other just so they weren't ostracized. They used to tell each other everything but now there was a wall that only superficial conversation could pass through.

"Y-yeah." Devin stammered, bracing himself for further questions and possible hate. Ricky sat up, slipping out of the cocoon that had been made. He peeked out into the hallway to make sure it was clear before skittering to the bathroom and grabbing a bottle of moisturizer. He returned to Devin quickly, sitting by his side and yanking the blankets off of him.

"What the fuck are you doing? Oh! That's cold." Devin laughed as Ricky began to slather his friend's legs with the cream. Devin relaxed into his touch, becoming calm with the reassurance that he wasn't mad or upset.

"If you're going to do stuff like this just for the hell of it, then at least stick to the self-care." Ricky giggled a bit as he continued to massage Devin's body, working from his calves up to his thighs. They both giggled whenever Ricky found a ticklish spot or his hand slipped a bit. When he deemed himself done, he put the lotion away and crawled back into the security of the bed. Devin mulled over his options for a bit. Did he explain that it was a conscious decision or did he just let it pass as something done "for the hell of it"?

"Ricky, I have to tell you something..." Devin whispered, sitting up and turning to him. Ricky gave him a concerned look and held his hand, letting him know that they could always talk. Devin took a few minutes to compose himself, breathing deeply. He knew he just had to get it out of his mouth, and then everything else was out of his control.

"I'm..." He bit his tongue and locked his eyes shut. "Trans." She braced himself to be hit, but the only impact she felt was Ricky throwing his arms around her. Slowly she opened her eyes, seeing Ricky clinging to her.

"Thank you for telling me." Ricky whispered in her chest, eventually sitting up again. He held her hands again, asking questions about what it all meant. About name changes and surgery and how to address her. She couldn't be more thankful for how well Ricky took the news and how supportive he was.

"So uh, now that you're technically a woman, does that mean that if we dated I wouldn't be gay?" The question caught Devin off guard but she could tell Ricky was serious.

"I mean yes but I still have a dick." Devin stated bluntly. Ricky shrugged, throwing his arms around Devins' neck and pulling her in for a kiss. He pulled away and giggled a bit, shifting a hand to Devin's cheek.

"I can live with that." Ricky leaned in and kissed him again, this time Devin snaking his limbs around Ricky's waist and shifting onto his lap. Ricky laid them down, crawling over Devin and pressing their bodies together. They kissed a bit more before there was the sound of clearing a throat in the hallway. Ricky flung himself to the side, his face rose red as he saw Miss Sola in the doorway.

"It's about time." She scoffed, shutting the door behind her. Ricky and Devin turned to look the other in the eyes., snickering to themselves. Devin crawled to rest her head on his chest, his arm around her back. They began to talk like usual, but this time with a bit more depth. They caught up on all the moments they missed in the others lives that led up to that point. The point where two straight little boys turned into two bisexual teens, one of which transgender.
