Also, I'm very sorry that it has taken me so long to post this next chapter. However, since I am done with school early, I will now be able to update this book more often.

Amy's POV
I gasped as the huge limousine stopped in front of a huge, modern restaurant. It looked as if it was about 5 stories tall, and I could see couples and families laughing with each other as they enjoyed their meals through the clear, glass windows.

They were all in dresses with fancy hats, clean, sleek suits, or really any type of fancy clothing. It was at that moment that I was happy that I was smart enough to prepare a fancy outfit the night before.

I had never been taken to such a, well, fancy restaurant before. It was almost surreal. Realizing that out of all guys, Shadow was taking me on a date. I had always envisioned my first date being with Sonic.

Which, they were, but if he ever asked me on a date, he would either stand me up, or leave early.

Afterwards, he would always say something like "I had to stop Dr. Eggman from destroying the world." or "I was busy." But I wasn't stupid. I've never been stupid. No matter how much I tried to deny it, I knew that they were just lies to cover up the fact that he wanted nothing to do with me.

I felt the redness of my cheeks as Shadow opened the door for me.

"After you," he said in his low, charming voice.

I giggled at his chivalry. "Thank you," I said as I sauntered into the eatery, romantic and lively jazz music filling the air.

As me and Shadow sat in a surprisingly large booth, I looked at the beautiful roses in the middle of the table, placed delicately in glass, square vases. However, I had to stop my examination of the fancy diner when I heard a familiar voice.

"So..." Shadow spoke. Just hearing his voice made the butterflies in my stomach flutter even more rapidly. "How has your day been?" he asked me.

I was rather surprised by this, since Shadow was never really the type to want to participate in any kind of small talk. But later, I smiled, realizing that he was doing everything that he could to make the day special.

"It's been really great, Shadow. Especially now...that I'm here with you." I giggled yet again as I saw a tint of red arise on his muzzle.

The whole night, me and Shadow talked like we could never speak again. Every second, I found myself enjoying his company more and more. It was as if we were getting closer and closer. Everything was fantastic. Things couldn't have been any better even if I tried.

Well, that was until I turned my head, and say what I believed to be my doom. My mouth dropped to the ground as I saw the same blue hedgehog whom I had recently believed was my one and only soulmate.

He was dressed in a white, clean suit, with a green tie that complimented his eyes. My heart stopped as we made eye contact. However, I saw something in his familiar green orbs that I had never seen before. Something unfamiliar. Something...envious.

However, my shock doubled when I noticed something, or someone...

He had brought a certain female chipmunk with him.
