~eddy~

eddy was walking the path he usually takes to get home from tong li, one hand with some bags and the other on his phone. eddy looked around him briefly to make sure he was going the right way. though he'd known the streets, he'd like to make sure that nothing had changed, and there was no danger around. a beautiful girl had caught his eye. she laughed with glistening eyes and talked without care with her friends. and she looked at eddy, and their eyes met.

eddy pulled up his phone, as if he was always looking at it. he heard the chuckle of the girl and heard some mumbles. she came up to eddy and tapped him on the shoulder. "hey," she said, "caught ya looking at me." eddy's face tinged pink, knowing that she caught him. "i didn't," he argued weakly. "i merely was... looking at something behind you." the girl chuckled and handed him a slip of paper. she walked back to her friends and acted as if nothing had happened.

eddy continued to head home, walking fast as curiosity teased him, but couldn't stop as brett was waiting for him.

~brett~

brett was scrolling through instagram when he heard eddy open-nay-crash through the door. "BRETT IWUFEJEWNEODIX!" eddy basically screamed, a jumble of noises exploding from his mouth. brett chuckled at the other one's... words? "what is it, eddy?" he asked when he calmed down. "i met a cute girl and she gave me this," eddy handed over the slip of paper to brett. he opened it and smiled, 0405 962 385📞toni x~  was written. "you should call her," he said. eddy's eyes opened the widest he'd ever seen. "no way, dude!" he retaliated. brett took this opportunity to snatch the eddy's phone, which was, luckily, unlocked. he typed in the number before eddy could react, and she answered before he could stop the call from going through.

"hello?" a female voice said from the other end. "uh, hey," eddy responded awkwardly. "it's me, the boy you gave your number to. by the way, my name's eddy." and the conversation took off from there. brett had to stop himself from laughing a few times in fear that toni would hear him, but once eddy said the what did the _____ saw to the violist joke, he couldn't stop himself and absolutely burst. and that's when brett was introduced, and the conversation lasted ages after that, stories of childhood and such.

when the call ended, brett lightly punched eddy to catch his attention. "what?" eddy said. a smile crept on brett's face, "you liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike her." eddy's face immediately went red and argued, "do not!" brett responded, "do too." "do not. "do too." and that went on for a bit. finally, eddy gave in an said, "okay... mayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyybe i do." and they left it at that.

when they went to sleep, brett mumbled to himself, "eddy's got a cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush." he thought of the possibilities between of toni and eddy. what could happen on their first date, if they had one? and the endless amount of possibilities brought brett to sleep with a smile on his face.
