Fine?

Was Danny just fine?

No. He was going crazy. It seemed like he was forgetting more and more each day. Forgetting each day that passed. He'd never forgotten about Dr. Lisa though. She helped him, helped him remember the days that passed by.

"Tell me, what did you eat yesterday?" She started with the simple question.

"..." Danny looked down at his feet, softly swaying them back and forth. He had been sitting on the hospital bed.

"Alright... then do you remember these people?" She asked, holding up a picture of Jack and Maddie Fenton.

"..." Danny stared at the picture a long moment, then took it into his own hands, "M-Mom? D-ad?..." He sobbed, hugging onto the image.

He didn't want to forget. Danny felt that he wouldn't even know his own house when he saw it. This wasn't normal. Dr. Lisa knew this.

"Daniel, are you alright?" She asked him worryingly, "are you sure you're fine?"

"Tell her you're fine. You just want to go home." Danny heard Phantom speak through his head.

"...I-I'm fine, I just want to... I want to- I want to see them! I wanna see my parents..." Danny mumbled. He knew Phantom wouldn't be happy, but Daniel couldn't risk losing his parents.

Dr. Lisa nodded, and left the room. Danny sighed, and watched as phantom appeared by his side.

"Why?" Phantom stared curiously at the boy. Danny became confused. Phantom...didn't look upset. He wasn't hurting anybody...

"W-why what?" Danny asked, stumbling backwards a bit as phantom came a bit closer.

"Why do you want to see those idiots? Your idiot parents... why?" Phantom crawled closer until he had Fenton against the wall.

"What d-do you mean?" Danny stuttered, pushing his back further against the wall, "My parents aren't idio-"

"You really don't remember, do you." He asked, in more of a statement than a question.

"Remember what!? I don't understand!" Danny cried out, feeling confused and hurt. He rambled on, holding his hands out to push the ghost away. But it all came to an immediate end as phantom put his hand on Danny's hand.

The cold touch felt so familiar- yet so distant... So why-? Danny blushed as the ghost intertwined their fingers together.

Familiar?

'Stay with me forever. Don't leave me, okay?" Little fingers intertwined with each other, and small smiles played on their lips.

'I promise,I won't ever leave your side. I love you." The childish voice chimed, then the little hands wrapped around the other into a hug. An embrace.

"What..." Danny tried to pull his hand back, but he couldn't, "Let-Let go!"

He frantically pulled at his own hand, trying to back away. The boy just wanted him to disappear. Where was the doctor? Where were his parents? Where-

Phantom finally let go, with widened eyes at the temper tantrum Fenton had been throwing. The ghost had then glared at him, "Don't you dare yell at me."

Danny shrieked as he was yanked by the collar of his hospital gown, his face inches from phantom's.

"You're telling me you don't remember me at all?" Phantom asked with a serious expression on his face.

"Yes-no, I-I don't know!" Danny held his face in his hands, confusion clouding his mind, "M-maybe!?"

"Is that so?" Phantom hummed, "then perhaps we'll have make room in your head for those memories." He disappeared, back into the boy's head.

"WAIT! WHAaah..." Danny's voice faded as the ghost screwed with his head. His memories were fading away, disappearing.

His amnesia only got worse.

Dr. Lisa sighed as she met up with Daniel's parents with bad news.

"Is our son alright?" Maddie asked as Jack hugged onto her, "where is he? Can we see him?"

Dr. Lisa only looked away, "I'm afraid not, we're going to have to take your son to a mental institution."
