Serena's P.O.V.

"Serena!" My mom calls. "Dinner is ready!"

"Coming!" I say.

I shut off the TV and head to the dining room. Before I eat, I make food for Fennekin and Pancham.

"Did you finish all your homework, sweetie?" My mom asks me.

"Yup." I reply.

"That's good." My mom smiles at me.

30 minutes pass, and I make my way up to my room. Another 4 hours later, I pick up my phone. I see that I have a few missed calls from Dawn. I decide to call her.

"Hello?" Dawn picks up.

"You called?"

"Yeah, Serena. Only like, 10 times."

"Sorry, my phone was on silent. So what's wrong?"

"Put your ringtone on next time. Anyways, umm, it's about Calem."

"Calem?" I say confused.

"Yeah..."

"You mean the Calem who has had a crush on me for like, forever?"

"Yes, what other Calem would I be talking about?" Dawn replies.

"What about him?"

"So I hung out with Iris today, and we saw Calem and his group of friends. We caught them talking about something that caught our attention."

"Wait, so you guys eavesdropped?" I say.

"It's not our fault, they were talking pretty loud, loud enough for us to hear. So of course we had to listen."

"Okay, so what did you hear?"

"Calem said he's planning on asking you out tommorow."

"WAIT, WHAT?!" I yell.

"I know, I was pretty suprised when I heard it too." Dawn replies.

"We barely talk, I don't understand why he'd ask me."

"Well, are you gonna say yes?"

"Dawn, are you crazy?! Of course not. I already like Ash." I say slighty blushing.

"Okay, I knew you were gonna say that. Anyways, I gotta go. See you tommorow."

"Kay, bye." I sigh.

I put down my phone. I don't know what to do. How should I deny him? I don't want to hurt him or anything. I decide to worry about that tommorow and head to bed.

The next day...

"Serena!" I hear a voice.

I turn around to see Ash.

"Oh, hey." I smile.

Right now, I am standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus for school.

Ash had a big smile on his face. I wonder why.

"You look like you're in a good mood today." I say.

"I guess so." He smiles again and looks at me.

I hear more footsteps. I see Gary, May and Clemont approaching us.

Clemont walks up and stands beside me.

"Good m-morn...achoo!!!" Clemont sneezes.

"Woah, Clemont. Don't sneeze on me." I giggle.

"S-sorry, I think I'm catching a cold." Clemont rubs his nose.

"From yesterday?" Gary asks.

"Yeah, I think s-so, Achoo!" Clemont sneezes again.

"What happened yesterday?" May asks.

"Ashy-boy, Clemont, Barry and I got soaked in the rain during our battle yesterday." Gary replies.

"W-wait. So that means you guys have a cold too?" I gulp and back up.

"No, does it look like I'm sick?" Gary smirks.

"You look worried. What's wrong?" Ash looks at me.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just don't want to catch the cold from you guys, that's all. I hate getting sick." I reply and blush.

"Oh, I see. Don't worry! I'm not sick." He smiles. "Just avoid Clemont."

"Yeah, I know." I reply, moving away from Clemont.

"Eh heh, woops." Clemont sweatdrops.

The bus later on arrives, and we get on. We drive to the next stop, and Dawn, Drew, Misty and Paul get on. Dawn walks to my seat and sits beside me.

"Hey Serena." She smiles.

"Hi Dawn." I smile back at her.

"Piplup!" Piplup greets me.

"How was your weekend?" She asks me.

"It was okay, I really didn't do anything, though." I reply.

"Oh, really? I assumed you hanged with Ash." She nudges my arm.

"H-huh?" My cheeks turn pink.

"You know, he comes over to your place, you guys hang, he realizes his feelings for you-"

"Dawn!" I blush a deeper shade of pink.

"Hehe. Just teasing you." Dawn giggles.

"Don't do stuff like that." I try to hide my face.

15 minutes later, we arrive at school.

"So how about we finish up our battle now?" Ash looks at Gary.

"Our battle? Right now? Are you sure?" Gary says.

"Yeah." Ash fist pumps his right arm in the air.

"Alrighty then. Get ready to lose. I am the best of the best, by the way." Gary says.

"Me? Losing? Haha, no." Ash rolls her eyes.

"Hmp. Let's just go. I will prove I am better." Gary smirks and walks to the battlefield.

"Come on guys, cheer me on!" Ash turns to us.

"Sure!" Dawn replies.

"Of course!" Clemont adds.

"Great!" Ash smiles and follows Gary.

"This will be interesting." Misty says. "Let's go watch."

"Oh, I gotta go to my locker and print something out in the library. Sorry." I say.

"Oh, is that so? Okay, see you later!" Misty says and walks to the battlefield, followed by Iris, May, Dawn and the others.

I pass by the battlefield while on my way to my locker.

"Hey Serena!" Ash calls me.

"Hm?" I turn around to see Ash and Barry.

"Where are you going? Aren't you gonna watch the battle?" Ash walks up to me.

"No...I really wish I could, but have some last minute homework to do." I reply.

"Oh..." He says, sounding disapointed.

"Are you serious? I was already dying to see Serena yesterday, and now she couldn't even watch my battle?" Ash thinks to himself.

"I'm sorry." I sigh.

"N-no, it's fine." He gives a fake smile.

"Are you sure? You were in a pretty good mood until I said I couldn't watch." I say.

"That's true Ash. What's the matter?" Barry looks at him.

He goes quiet for a while, and looks down at the ground. He then looks back at me and smiles.

"You know what? I'll just come with you." He says.

"Huh?" Barry raises his eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I look at back at him.

"I'll just come with you to your locker." He says.

"Uhh..." I start.

"Why do you...achoo!!" Barry almost sneezes on me.

"Hey! Barry! Cover your nose!" I almost shout.

"Agh...sorry. My nose has been really irritated lately." Barry scratches his nose.

"Must've been from yesterday." Ash says.

"Yeah..." Barry sighs.

"Ashy-boy! Hurry up, would you?" Gary shouts.

"Gary, on second thought, we can battle next time! I got something to do." Ash replies.

"What? Are you kidding me?" Gary crosses his arms.

"Yeah...sorry." Ash scratches his head.

"Erg. Fine, whatever." Gary smirks.

"You can go on, Barry." Ash looks at him.

"Heh. Alrighty." Barry turns around and walks to Gary and the others.

Ash looks back at me.

"Come on." He says.

"O-okay?" I say a litte confused, as my cheeks turn pink.

I wonder what he is doing.

"Gary! Why don't we battle then?" Misty says.

"You want me to battle you? No, sorry. I don't battle wimps." Gary smirks.

Misty's mouth drops. She stomps over to him and grabs a hold of his shirt collar. She lifts him up into the air.

"What did you say?!" Misty shouts.

"AGH! P-put me down!" Gary wiggles.

Misty gives him a death glare.

"Okay! I take back what I said! I will battle you!" Gary gulps. "J-just put me down!"

Misty lets go of his collar, and Gary falls onto the ground. He quickly gets up and fixes his shirt.

"Damn...no need to get so aggressive." Gary rolls his eyes and walks back to the battlefield.

"Looks like Gary isn't all tough." Iris giggles.

"He looks like he's afraid of you, Misty." May laughs.

"Hmp. Looks like it." Misty gives a small laugh and follows Gary to the battlefield.

Ash and I walk to my locker, and thank arceus I haven't run into Miette so far.

"S-so why did you want to come with me?" I say nervously as I open my locker.

"I don't know. I just felt like it." He replies.

"But I know you love battling, it didn't make sense for you to give up that battle just to come with me, Ash." I look at him.

Not that I don't want him to come or anything.

"I know but, I have been wanting to see you since yesterday, but didn't get the chance to, so I decided to tag along with you." He smiles.

"H-huh? Really?" I feel my cheeks turn a dark shade of pink.

"Yeah. I don't know exactly why, though." He says.

"Oh, I see." I smile as my cheeks turn back to normal.

So Ash wanted to see me since yesterday. That makes me really happy.

I take out a huge stalk of textbooks out of my locker and place it in front of me.

"Why do you so many textbooks?" Ash looks at them.

"Dawn, Misty, May and Iris keep some of their stuff in here." I say.

"Really?"

"They say my locker is closest to their classes, so it would be easier to keep them in here." I reply.

"Why are you taking them out, anyways?" He asks.

"My textbook is at the very back of my locker, so I need to remove all of their stuff to get to mines." I say.

"Ohh...makes sense." Ash says.

I reach into the back of my locker and grab my textbook. I open up my backpack. Once I open it, I get a glimpse of Ash's hankercheif. I totally forgot about it. I don't know if I should tell him about it yet. I decide to just tell Dawn and the others first.

"A-achoo!" Ash sneezes on me.

"Ah! Hey!" I shout at him. "Are you serious? You too?"

"Hehe. I'm kidding. Just wanted to see how'd you react to it." He chuckles.

"Oh arceus, Ash." I roll my eyes and playfully punch his arm.

"Ow..." He rubs his arm.

"I didn't even punch you that hard." I say while giving him a weird look.

"Uh, yeah, you did." He replies.

"Don't be a baby." I giggle.

"Okay, okay. Fine. It wasn't that hard." He chuckles.

"I thought so." I say.

"Psssttt!!" I hear someone say.

I look behind me, to see Misty. She makes a heart with her hands and gives me an evil smile. I glare at her.

"Huh? What is she-" Ash moves his head, trying to see her.

"N-nothing!" I gasp.

I grab his shoulders and attempt to turn him around so he wouldn't see Misty. I push him back.

"W-wait! What are you doing?" Ash grunts.

He easily turns back around and faces me. He quickly takes a small step forward. His forgets that the textbooks I placed were still in front of him. His foot bumps into them, knocking over all the books. He loses his balance.

"AGH!" He shouts as he falls forward.

My eyes widen as I see him about to collide with me. He falls into me, causing me to fall hard on my back while he is on top of me, facing the ground.

"Ow..." I hear him groan.

"H-huh?" A boy gasps as he sees what has happened from afar.

He looks down at the chocolates in his hand and then looks back up.

"Serena..." He sighs.

"Yo, Calem. What are you just standing there for? Just ask her out.....woah. Who is he?" Another boy says as he notices Ash.

"The new kid. Ash Ketchum." Calem clenches his left hand.

"What is he doing? Are they dating?" The boy asks.

"I don't know, I don't care." Calem says in an angry tone as he tosses the chocolates into a nearby garbage can and walks away.

"Where are you going? What about Serena?" The boy looks at Calem.

"Forget it." Calem says and walks faster.

"Wait! Dude!" The boy runs and follows Calem.

The two turn around at the end of the hall, quickly dissapearing.

Ash lifts up his head until our faces are just inches apart. We stare into eachother's eyes, while both of our faces are as red as a tomato.

"Pika?" Pikachu tilts its head as it watches its trainer.

I face gets hot. I feel myself sweating. Is this really happening right now? I suddenly think of a weird idea to lean in and kiss him. I feel like I want to do it. This makes me blush even more. Wait, what? No. That's crazy! What am I thinking?!

"S-sorry!" Ash quickly gets up, disturbing me from my thoughts.

"I-it's fine." I shyly say as I get up.

He looks at me, and quickly looks at the ground, trying to avoid eye contact.

There is an awkward silence for a while. I then remember I still have to go to the library.

"Oh! I um, need to go to the library still. I just remembered." I say and break the silence.

"Oh, right." He takes his eyes of the ground and looks at me.

I begin picking up the textbooks off the floor and place them back into my locker.

"Let me help you with that." Ash says.

He picks up the rest of the books and places them into my locker.

"Thank you." I give a small smile.

"No prob." He smiles back.

We then make our way to the library, like nothing happened.
