I lay awake in my bed thinking about the events happened yesterday. Ares wanting to meet me, Mia telling me about her secret relationship with Chase which ended up in her pregnancy, then meeting up with Ares and discovering the most heated moment of my life.

I was a living mess. So much had happened in the past 24 hours and my mind was still unable to comprehend it. Especially, Ares' words to me.

You are mine. I'm not leaving you anytime soon.

Just the reminder of it made my stomach lurch in excitement. Everything was wrong with his words. Just because he had me on my knees that does not mean I was his. I was trying to get over my infatuation over Axel and I don't need another one in line.

Palming my eyes shut, I thought about Mia. I hadn't heard back from her. The last time I saw her was when I dropped her off at her home, on Friday. She told me she'll text me, but there was nothing from her. I spied on her instagram account only to find zero activities from her. I just hoped she was alright.

Ting!

A notification popped on my phone and I prayed to have a message from Mia. I sighed in disappointment when I saw Charlotte' message. What does she want now. Before viewing her message, my phone rang. It was Mia.

"Thank God you called me, I was getting worried." Silent.

"Mia, are you there? Honest to God, I'll knock you out if you don't start speak-"

"Don't call Mia again.' A gruff voice interrupted me and I immediately panicked.

"Who is this?" I said angrily. "Chase if that's you, I'll swear to God I'll kick your ass without thinking twice. You have no shame, dickhead. Who do you think you are?"

A mocking laugh rang from the other side of the call. "You think you can kick my ass? Have you finally grown a pair to talk to me?"

Sweat glided from my temple when I realised the owner of the voice. "Axel?" I gulped in, not believing Axel to be on the phone.

"Yes, baby. It's me. The guy you're busy batting eyelashes. I bet you're imagining me as your hero, saving you from all the bad men in this world, keeping you as my own and protecting you always." His voice ended on a lower note.

"But, honey, guess what? The only person that will hurt you is me. The person you should steer clear of is me and put that in that thick brain of yours the only way you'll get under me is when I'm fucking angry with my love or when you don't want it. And bitch, stay away from Mia or else keep waiting for your doom."

With that he ended the phone call and tears kept free falling from my eyes. I was speechless. He was so rude to me. I never in my life imagined him to be a cold fucking asshole. And on top of that he sort of threatened to harm me?

"Damn it," I exclaimed in frustration. He wants me to stay away from my best friend something I can't ever do. I will always lookout for her well being and if that results in my ruin so be it.

Ting. There was another message from Charlotte. I totally forgot about replying her.

How are you?

Reading her message something else popped up in my mind.

"Okay so where are we going?" Charlotte asked from the passenger seat. I convinced her to let me drive--- more like snatching her eyes and sliding in the drivers seat.

"Okay- so this is something serious." Her eyes widened in curiosity. "My best friend is stuck in this extremely complicated situation and I just have to make sure she's okay." My distraught tone reverted back to the bubbly moments we share.

She squeezed my hand and I appreciated it. "She has a friend like you how can she not be okay?" I smiled at her words.

When we pulled in front of Mia and Chase' home, Charlotte automatically panicked beside me. "Who's house is this?"

I couldn't help, overlook her shaky voice. Hey-- I had my own problems.

"Mia's. Why do you ask?"

She shook her head. "Just looks familiar." I nodded.

I parked car outside the bushy area of their estate. I knew there was a cheat route from here that could lead me directly in their house unseen.

"You coming or staying?" She looked conflicted for a second and I thought she would no, but instead she said, "Yeah, sure."

I led me and her through the thickets to the backyard. I just hope their window was open.

"This place just looks very familiar."

"Shush! Not the time." When we were at the backyard, I saw the sliding window slightly open. "Bingo! We'll be in like no time."

As we nearing to the window, a shadow emerged from behind me and calmed my mouth shut. From side eye, I noticed Charlotte disappeared. I hope she took off.

"What did I tell you, sweetheart?" Axel' whispered in my ear, his lips tracing my earlobe. "I told you to stay away. You don't understand English?" He bit harshly on my earlobe.

"Now I have to teach you a lesson."
