I'm backkkk

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shoto stirred awake feeling something warm and fluffy laying on his left side. At first he thought it had just been a pillow when he realised there were no fluffy pillows in the room. He jolted up pushing whatever was on him onto the floor. He could see specks of white but couldn't be sure because of how dark the room was so he got up and pulled the curtains back. When the room finally lit up with sunlight Shoto realised what had been on top of him.
"A cat?" A black and white cat specifically. It had been stretching until it heard Shoto's voice and froze. To Shoto's surprise the cat turned into Iruka or more accurately Iruka de-transformed.
"Ahhh Shoto I am so sorry. I must've gotten cold last night. And you were warm and," She paused and looked at Shoto. " I'm really sorry."
"It's alright. You wouldn't be the first cat to sleep on my left side. Anyways we should get changed and head down to breakfast." Shoto stated, no longer phased from what had just happened. Iruka on the other hand flushed pink as she cursed herself on the way to her room.
Once they had changed, they both headed down to the dining hall. It wasn't a surprise to already see a few people there. There was a particular sidekick that had greeted them that morning.
"Heyya you two. Oh you must be the other kid interning with Endeavor. The name's Burnin." The hero in front of them held out her hand.
"Oh umm I'm Iruka."
"Well then you two should eat up. Who knows what Endeavor would put you through today." Burnin joked but it sent a shiver down Iruka's spine. She didn't like the idea of spending even a second with Endeavor but if Shoto could deal with the man for 16 years she could deal with him for a week.
Just as they finished breakfast, Endeavor walked in.
"Today I will be training Shoto before patrol. Ito you will be having combat training with Burnin." Was all he said before he left. Iruka's first instinct was to check up on her friend. She had a horrible feeling when it came to that man but that feeling got worse when Shoto was part of the equation. The only reaction that came from the boy was a sigh, whether it was relief or boredom or something else completely, Iruka could not be sure.
As planned Shoto followed his father to one training room while Burnin led Iruka to another. She found it a little unnerving knowing there was a separate training room.
Iruka was told to land at least one hit on Burnin. Burnin's quirk allowed her to envelope herself in flames, only she didn't cover her face. Iruka wasn't sure if that was the drawback or because Burnin wanted to give Iruka a chance. If the latter was the case she sure underestimated Iruka.
The second they started Iruka rushed forward but before Burnin's flames could even touch her, Iruka had already changed into a tiny fly. In the midst of things, Burnin didn't have time to search for Iruka before she was punched right in the face.
"That's some incredible speed you have there." Burnin smirked. "For an amateur." Sure enough the next few times Iruka had failed to so much as graze Burnin but she wasn't at a complete loss.
Iruka noticed patterns and used that to her advantage. Of course soon Burnin caught up with the tactic and switched it up but no matter how much she tried to change her moves Iruka always seemed to find a pattern.
"Ok I take it back you're really good." Burnin chugged down some water.
"Well for you, once you change it up, your body will run on auto pilot and turn your movements into a pattern." Iruka explained. Burnin was impressed to say the least.
"Your analysis skills are incredible."
"My friend does it better. I just picked up the habit from being with him for too long." Just then the door to the training room opened.
"Ito, Endeavor says you'll be joining him for patrol in 10 minutes." It was an unfamiliar face to Iruka but she simply nodded and headed down.
Once again, by the time Iruka reached the lobby Shoto was already waiting with a few sidekicks. Iruka walked up to Shoto and noticed he smelt a little burnt. At first she dismissed it as him using his fire quirk but Iruka knew that that was the slight scent of burnt skin. It was subtle but I suppose that's the downside of having heightened senses.
Just like yesterday they headed to Hosu. Endeavor was still on the hunt for the hero killer.
As they walked the streets there would be times when Iruka saw a kid who got their kite stuck in a tree or an old lady who was having trouble with their groceries but it was never Endeavor that did the saving. It was often his sidekicks. Sure they were little jobs, things that normal civilians could do but it was always a hero's job to help no matter how little the job may be. Something was pulling at Iruka, begging her to ask Endeavor why he didn't do any of them. Eventually she had the courage to ask.
"Ano, Endeavor sir, why do y-you not do any of the little j-jobs?" She was walking behind him and she was really hoping the Pro Hero would hear her.
"I have sidekicks to do that. I have to keep my eyes out for much more important things." Something in Iruka snapped right then and there.
"Are you saying that helping people in alleyways, or helping a kid get their kite down from a tree don't matter because it's not big and grand enough for you Endeavor." Iruka huffed, slowly she started walking beside him.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. Are you undermining the smaller jobs that you should do without thinking about the publicity." She was facing Endeavor now, you could barely see any fear in her eyes. Shoto could tell this was something Iruka was incredibly passionate about but he knew he had to stop this before it got out of hand.
"Iru-" He was immediately cut off.
"Who are you to tell me how to do my job?" Endeavor snarled at her.
"I'm a citizen of Japan and you should be taking some feedback like a champ." Iruka couldn't even believe what was coming out of her own mouth. He was right. Who was she to tell the #2 Hero how to do his job? She just felt like she was smacked in the face when he belittled the smaller jobs that wouldn't usually get you on the front page of the newspaper.
Endeavor was about to speak when they heard a loud boom. He rushed to where the explosion was heard with Iruka, Shoto and his sidekicks behind him.
"Keep close both of you." He said to the two.
There were different kinds of Nomus all around them. Iruka wanted to jump into action, she knew she could fight at least one of them but then her phone buzzed.
HELP! ALLEY EKOU ST. 4-2-10 HOSU.
It was an emergency message that was kind of a speed dial all her classmates had and was linked to each other and their teacher in case something like what happened at the USJ happened again. This particular one was from Izuku.
She looked up at Shoto. He must've gotten it too. "Endeavor we're going to need help in the narrow lane by Ekou st. 4-2-10, send backup when you're done here." She spoke up before looking at Shoto and transforming into a bird as big as one of the flying Nomu.
She grabbed Shoto with her talons and flew to Izuku's location. She was worried and terrified for her friend but at the moment her brain was filled with the fuzz of adrenaline.
When she made a turn she saw it, the green fluff of hair. But she saw 3 other figures.
"Animia let go now!" Shoto shouted and she did as she was told. Before he hit the ground, Shoto let out a blast of ice to soften the impact.
When Iruka landed she saw who was there, Tenya, Pro Hero: Native and the Hero Killer Stain. Shoto sent another blast of ice to knock the hero killer down.
"Shoto, Animia. Don't let him cut you. He uses your blood to paralyze you." Izuku warned from where he lay.
Iruka kept his warning in mind as she ran, transforming into a hummingbird zooming towards the enemy. As she transformed back she gave the hero killer a chop to the neck, catching him off guard.
"Animia get Iida and Native out of here, I'll help Shoto." Izuku had gotten up. He was injured but she wasn't about to argue when she saw the state the other 2 were in. Almost bleeding to death by the looks of it. She looked back to her other friend before transforming into a lion. "I'll be fine." He reassured.
She carefully lifted up the two onto her back before running out onto the main road. It was deserted which meant this area had been evacuated due to the Nomu attack. She placed the two on the side of a building before transforming back. She took out her phone and first aid kit. She quickly dialed Burnin as quickly as she could. The sidekick had given Iruka her number in case of emergencies just like this. Ah the convenience.
"Iida I want you to hold onto this phone and just talk ok." She started to patch up Native's injuries best she could with what she had.
"Animia what's going on? Where are you?" Burnin asked, semi worried.
"I'm outside the narrow lane at Ekou st. 4-2-10 with 2 severely injured, get here now!" She finished treating Native's injuries. "Iida stay on the line with Burnin. I'm going to help Izuku and Shoto. Don't fuss around, help will get here." Tenya couldn't protest, Iruka had already rushed back into the alleyway.
When she got there Shoto was trying to keep Stain from getting any closer to the two. Iruka on instinct rushed in as a hummingbird. Shoto must've seen this because he released his ice from around Stain ever so slightly giving her an opening.
Iruka did what she did best, rapid attack. She caught the villain off guard with a chop to the neck and Izuku took the opportunity to attack from the front. Iruka grabbed Stain's knives one by one making it harder for the Hero Killer to use his quirk. Iruka made a bold move of trying to grab a knife from the front but she didn't time her transformation right and was cut right at her torso. Lucky for her Shoto knocked the blade right off Stain's hand before he could lick it.
The 3 went back and forth between grabbing a blade and sending an attack. Eventually Izuku and Shoto managed to give one final attack that knocked the Hero Killer out cold. Iruka took the rope she had on her utility belt. She tied him up with one end and tied his blade in a bunch on the other.
"Shoto help Izu out, I'll bring Stain out." Shoto didn't protest and took Izuku's arm over his shoulder as they walked out of the alleyway. Iruka once again transformed into a lion and tossed Stain onto her back making sure the blades didn't injure any of them.
"Shoto, Animia are you-" Burnin stopped mid sentence the second she saw Stain. "Is that the Hero Killer?!"
"Oh uh ya." Iruka squeaked out.
"That's insane." Soon a few more of Endeavour's sidekicks and even Grand Torino arrived. Apparently Endeavor was still busy fighting the Nomu that was still running rampant in the city.
"DUCK!" Grand Torino yelled out.
From out of nowhere a flying Nomu had come. They weren't out of danger and Iruka knew that. There was something odd about the Nomu. Before Iruka could figure it out it had swooped down and grabbed Izuku by the arms, taking him away.
"IZU!" Iruka shouted before taking after it with her arms as wings. When she got close she changed her hand into a paw and as she grabbed Izuku with one hand she scratched the Nomu's face. It screeched before the 3 fell to the ground, Izuku tucked in Iruka's wings.
Iruka let out a sigh of relief as she changed her arms back. As she got up from the ground she realised the others were starring, but not exactly at her.. She turned her head to see where it was coming from. It was Stain. He had gotten himself out of the rope and looked very ready to kill everyone there. As much as she was afraid, Iruka still bared her teeth trying to show that she was not afraid and that she was ready to fight if need be. But he wasn't looking at her or Izuku. He was looking towards the others as if she and Izuku didn't exist at that moment.
"The phonies that have overrun society. And the criminals that aimlessly sprinkle around their 'power'. Those are the targets of my purge! All of this for the sake of a just world." Everyone stared at Stain un-sure what to do.
"What are you all doing just standing there!" Endeavor boomed as he rushed onto the street.
"Todoroki wait!" Grand Torino warned.
"Another phony." Stain said as a sudden pressure fell onto all of them. "The fake must be rectified. Someone... Someone must stain himself in blood." No one was moving, no one could. It was a suffocating feeling that they just couldn't fight. As much as Iruka wanted to stand her ground or fight or do something she just couldn't move. "THE WORD HERO MUST BE RESTORED!" The power getting tenser and tenser by the second.
"Come! Just try it you pretenders! The only one allowed to kill me is All Might!" He yelled out.
He stopped moving. The pressure was gone and she didn't understand what was going on.
"He, he's lost consciousness." Iruka dropped to her knees, absolutely exhausted.
"Iruka!" Izuku yelled out, worried.
"Don't worry just exhausted. Come on." She picked herself up and brought Izuku towards the others.
"Wh-What happened." Native questioned.
"We won't know until we get him and all of you to the hospital." Grand Torino explained earning a confused look from Iruka.
"Iruka you're still bleeding out." She looked down to see her clothes soaked in blood.
"Oh. This is going to be a pain to wash out." She mumbled as she took out her last two first aid kits, tossing one towards Izuku so he and Shoto could clean up their own wounds while she did her own.
"Here let me help, that seems serious." Burnin offered.
"No no don't worry about it." She wrapped the bandage around her torso before putting away the rest of her first aid kit. "See good as new."
