The next day rolled in like the breeze playing with the clouds. The room in which two teens share is in a comfortable peace with only the sounds of their breathing heard. One of them had woken up, mind fuzzy and a little confused as to where he was until he turned and saw Iruka.

She was still asleep and she looked at peace. He hadn't realised he was staring until Iruka finally stirred. He quickly rolled to the other side, but ultimately, fell off the bed. There was a moment of silence as Iruka looked over, concerned for her friend It didn't last long, Iruka burst into a fit of laughter. Hitoshi wasn't embarrassed, well maybe a little, but he was glad to see her smile. It was a smile he'd love to wake up to any day.

Iruka finally calmed from her laugh attack that left the room to be filled with silence once more.

"So what are our plans today miss Animia?" Hitoshi asked, amusement in his voice.

"Hmm, breakfast?"

=========

They quickly changed, Iruka in her hero costume paired with a small backpack (because they were convenient and left her hands empty most of the time) and her scarf of course. Hitoshi wore a pair of cargo pants and a long-sleeved shirt. When asked about his choice in clothing Hitoshi merely shrugged and said "Sleep will kill me before a heat stroke does." ("Hitoshi you don't sleep." "Exactly.")

Iruka was a little overwhelmed with so many smells and sounds around them, but her stomach reminded her of their priority, breakfast. They would've eaten back at the hotel, but sleeping in had made them miss the scheduled time to eat, leaving them with the best breakfast Iruka could think of, carnival food.

There were stalls everywhere around the expo so there was no shortage of food. Though Iruka had suggested doughnuts, Hitoshi had declined and opted to get waffles instead.

As they walked around they realised they were on the more inventive side of the expo. They were offered flyers and brochures for all sorts of things. It was slowly getting more crowded, so Hitoshi suggested they took a break to finish their breakfast and figure out what they wanted to do first.

Lucky for them a tree was well in their perimeters so a resting point it had become. Iruka sat down and spread out the flyers they had gotten to get a better look.

"Hitoshi wanna go on the roller coasters here?"

"Huh they made a map of the place, nice." Hitoshi finished his waffle before taking a better look at the map. "Wait aren't these attractions like on the other side of the expo?"

"Well ya but we could go in from one end to another and end it back here."

"Well sounds like a plan to me. I guess we're picking the rollercoaster when we get there?"

"Nope, we're going on them all!" Iruka cheered.

==========

Thankfully the expo was pretty large so in the time it took them to finally walk all the way to the attraction side Hitoshi deemed it was ok to get on the roller coaster without spilling their breakfast everywhere.

The first roller coaster they went on had compartments that made you feel like you were in bubbles. A staff member gave a brief explanation that the ride was completely safe and to have fun before letting them go.

They slowly they eased into the tunnel before them. Iruka's heart raced. This was an indoor roller coaster so she had no clue was to expect. She could feel gravity work its magic as Iruka leaned back. The bubbles they sat in was cool but her palm's started to sweat.

"Nervous?"

"No just- OH FUUUUUUCKK!" A string of cuss words leaving Iruka's mouth as they dropped.

The lights around them illuminated. Every twist and turn unseen. Although Iruka was strapped n she still felt as though she could float. There were squeals and shouts all around her. It felt like there was no end until they were launched upwards.  It didn't register in Iruka's mind until they were slowly floating around the room.

Everything around them was slightly illuminated so Iruka could barely make out the look on Hitoshi's face as they glided around. Everyone around them drifted around just for a little longer before their bubbles finally descended.

"Let's grab the pictures Toshi!" Iruka hopped out of the compartment and they both headed to the picture counter.

"Do you always take a bunch of pictures when you're out?"

"Yup. I don't usually go anywhere special much so taking pictures is really nice. That and Papa says it's a good thing to take as many pictures as possible."

"Well if that's the case, I suppose I should keep some for myself huh."

Iruka looked through the pictures displayed on the screen to find theirs until she spotted them.

"Toshi you aren't even smiling in it," Iruka whined.

"I think I look fine. It's a cool challenge trying not to smile when riding a roller coaster."

"But it's no fun. Besides, I think you look great when you smile."

"Alright alright, let's go on another and this time I won't keep a straight face."

"That's more like it!"

The next roller coaster they went on was a water-themed one. It made you feel as though you were riding water fountains. By the end of it, they were only (thankfully) slightly drenched thanks to the ponchos they were given before the ride.

True to his word Hitoshi really did smile and Iruka thought they had finally started their day with a bang.

=========

"You good?"

"Ya just wanna get some energy out."

"We went on 2 different roller-coaster rides how did that not get energy out?"

"I know but we kinda sorta just sat there, you know." Hitoshi laughed. He gave it some thought for a bit as he looked around.

"Let's go there." Hitoshi pointed to a building that said World 'o' round Blades.

"Rollerblading?" He nodded and led Iruka there.

When they entered the building, there was a counter on the side with rollerblades lining its walls. Iruka followed Hitoshi curiously as he asked about the attraction. The worker said it was a 360 rollerblading centre. Iruka had no clue what that was and neither did Hitoshi but he asked for the shoes anyways saying it would be a nice surprise.

After getting their rollerblades they headed down the hall where they were introduced to a locker room. Hitoshi unlocked two of the lockers via the keys he was given at the counter and slipped in his shoes as well as Iruka's.

They walked down the hall again to be greeted by a room filled with people squealing and cheering. Hitoshi led Iruka to some benches off to the side.

"So what do you think this is?" Iruka slipped her feet into the rollerblades.

"By the looks of it, we can rollerblade on the walls and ceiling." Hitoshi stood up and offered his hand to Iruka. She stumbled a little before managing to follow Hitoshi to where the main area was.

"So do we just go?" Hitoshi asked one of the workers there. He nodded giving Hitoshi the ok to scale the wall.

The corners were curved so it was easier to get on the walls though it didn't make any more surprising when he didn't feel himself fall back due to gravity. Although it took a bit of effort to get away from the ground, it got easier and easier.

"Hey wait for me," Iruka called out as she tried to scale the wall. Hitoshi turned around and moved up the wall backwards as he watched Iruka struggle to go up.

"Have you ever rollerbladed before?"

"Well no but it's similar to ice skating so that's something isn't it?" Iruka grabbed onto Hitoshi's hand as he led her around the room.

Once they had gotten used to the feeling of being on the walls it didn't feel any different to being on the ground (unless you counted the fact that their hair flopped everywhere). Eventually, Hitoshi felt confident enough to try the ceiling to see what that would feel like, Iruka behind him.

It didn't take as much of an effort to get on the ceiling as the walls so Hitoshi effortlessly skated onto the ceiling. Iruka on the other hand wasn't so lucky. She tripped on air and almost face-planted into the ceiling but missed thanks to Hitoshi.

"How are you not falling?"

"Natural talent?" Hitoshi chuckled as he helped her onto her feet.

"I doubt that." Iruka pouted as she got back on her feet.

"Really? Am I that bad at lying?"

"Ahah so you were lying!" Hitoshi rolled his eyes.

"I rollerblade with mum on the weekends, it's actually really good cardio."

=========

"So have you gotten your energy out yet?"

"Oh absolutely. That was great. So what shall we do next?"

"There's some carnival games over there want to check it out?"

"Oo yes let's."

It was a refreshing scene to see the carnival games were just like any other. The expo was exhilarating but sometimes, a good carnival game is just what you needed as mini downtime. Of course, the game that caught their eye was the one with cat plushes as the prizes. It was one of those floating duck games where you would basically fish for ducks and get a prize depending on the colour at the duck's bottom.

Iruka was up first. They had told the lady not to reveal the colour until both of them had a turn just to make it more interesting. Iruka grabbed one of the fucks that were floating back while Hitosh caught one that was closer to the front.

When revealed Iruka won them a pair of sparkly pink cat ear headbands whilst Hitoshi won one of the "bigger" prizes which was a round cat plush keychain. Hitoshi helped Iruka hang it on her bag saying "It'll be easier" before they waved the lovely lady goodbye and went off.

"Wanna get a snack?" Iruka suggested.

Hitoshi hummed a response as he fixed his cat ears because if he was going to be wearing the thing he might as well look great in it.

They walked around the food stalls deciding the snacks they would get. Iruka bought a stick of cotton candy for them to share while Hitoshi got them some Dango and Taiyaki. They sat down at another bench to eat their food as they once again browsed through the different things they could do before settling on a 360 maze. It was meant to be similar to the rollerblading attraction they had tried earlier but with the added excitement of a maze.

When they got there Iruka suggested they make a game out of this. They would be placed on 2 different sides of the maze and they would have to find each other. The first one to be found would have to pay for that night's dinner.

The staff were more than happy to go along with it so when the buzzer went off so did the two heroes in training. Iruka shuffled through the many hallways, using her senses to find Hitoshi. There were times she'd bump into a wall but she managed to get around them easily. Hitoshi on the other hand didn't have the best of luck.

He was on what he would assume would be a wall trying to get to the centre hoping to find Iruka when she practically pounced on him.

"Wooh I win!" Iruka giggled as she helped Hitoshi up.

"Ya bet you sniffed me out." The other chortled as Iruka led them both out of the maze.

==========

They slowly moved their way through the expo. Going into some of the viewings for the inventions, buying drinks from various stalls around them to beat the heat and even going to a mythical creature farm (it was actually just electronic mythical creatures but Iruka would be damned if they didn't say hello to the hippogriffs).

There were a few times in the day when Iruka would help a few kids get kites out of the trees or help catch flying balloons. When asked who she was Iruka merely said "I'm a hero in training, call me Animia." The eyes of those children shone like stars when she said hero, some of them even going as far as asking for autographs from her ("I'm telling all my friends I met a real hero!"). Iruka shrugged off the interactions but Hitoshi said she was basically getting her name out there before she even went pro ("At this rate, you'll end up top 10 before you even graduate.").

Eventually, they found themselves at another booth. This time they were told one of them would be duplicated and the other would have to guess the real one. When asked who would be duplicated Hitoshi pushed Iruka forward, basically sacrificing her to the duplication gods.

"What if this is the beginning of my evil twin thing Toshi?"

"Think it'll be good practice if it ever happens."

When the duplication started there were at least 5 exact copies of Iruka. Even if the real one spoke all of them would at the exact same time. The echo was getting annoying and Hitoshi could see it was starting to bother all the Irukas so they kept quiet.

"For the duplicates to disappear you need to touch the real one. Touch the real one the first time and you'll win the biggest prize." The worker said. Hitoshi smirked before he walked around the duplicates, careful not to touch any.

"Mhhm, Iruka which of your cats have you had the longest?"

"Oh-" Iruka paused as though thinking about and Hitoshi walked over to the one furthest from him and grabbed her hand.

Instantly the other duplicates disappeared. Hitoshi had a soft smile on his face as Iruka and the worker looked at him surprised.

"Wow kid you're like the first one to ever got that on the first try. Come on you can follow me to choose your prize." As they followed him Iruka whispers to Hitoshi.

"How did you do it?"

"You smell like sugar." Hitoshi shrugged.

The big prizes were long animal pillows so, of course, the logical answer was to get the tabby cat one. Hitoshi at first handed Iruka the cat as though gifting it to her but Iruka shook her head.

"It was a team effort, sorta, so let's share it."

==========

Iruka looked outside. The hues of the painted sky were gradually getting darker as the setting sun was soon to put at rest. The light of the expo below slowly brightens the night. She felt like sitting atop Tokyo (not that she's ever been) it felt surreal.

"This your first time on a Ferris wheel?"

"Well first time riding this one. I mean look we're practically floating!" Her voice sounded light and childlike, it was endearing really.

They let the sounds of the world below fill their compartment as Iruka went to take pictures, some of the expo, some of the sky, some of Hitoshi. The other wondered how much of his face filled the girl's phone. A chuckle left his lips at the thought.

"What's so funny?"

"Don't you think you have enough pictures of me?"

"Absolutely not."

"Well how about we take another selfie. Can't fill your phone with my face without filling it with yours too." Hitoshi smirked. Iruka handed her phone over and more pictures filled her phone.

They watched as the sky darken and the expo below lit up with all sorts of colours. When they hopped out of the Ferris wheel Hitoshi suggested they get dinner and Iruka's stomach agreed.

How they ended up at a park on the ground eating fish and chips they hadn't a clue but Iruka was having a great time so what does it matter. There are all sorts of people around them enjoying themselves as well. There was music playing somewhere, children running around as they played with all sorts of toys, soft chatter of some people nearby.

Iruka was scrolling through the 1-A group chat where pretty much everyone was sharing pictures of what they were up to around the expo so she sent a picture of her and Hitoshi enjoying their dinner. As messages came through that group Iruka sent a couple of pictures from throughout the day to her parents.

After they cleared up their area, they decided they should start heading back towards the hotel. As they walked there was music that had piqued Iruka's interest. The closer they got the more Iruka could see. There was a crowd of people but no one was on the dance floor. Iruka looked around confused before she placed her backpack and the cat pillow on a table nearby and dragged Hitoshi to the dance floor.

"Woah hold on, I don't even know how to dance."

"Neither do I but you don't need to be good to have fun right?" Hitoshi was hesitant but eventually gave in and let Iruka lead him onto the dance floor.

Iruka started to dance before they started floating upwards. In a panic, Iruka grabbed Hitoshi's hand. They stumbled a bit before Hitosh started to dance albeit a little awkwardly. Iruka soon followed along laughing at how ridiculous they must've looked from below.

The lights around them slowly changed from the rapid changing ones to more soft and calming lights and so did the music. The DJ started to play more classical which was everyone's queue that it was slow dance time.

Iruka wasn't sure what to do with herself. I don't know how to slow dance I've never done this before.

"Shall we dance M'lady?" Hitoshi gave an exaggerated bow and held out his hand. Iruka chortled and took Hitoshi's hand.

"Don't worry I don't know what I'm doing either." He smiled and started to sway slowly. There wasn't any dancing but Iruka enjoyed it nonetheless. There was nothing about the day Iruka didn't enjoy and it couldn't have been spent any better than it already was.

Eventually, they slowly descended back down via a specific corner that guests would use to descend as they so please.

"Hotel?" Iruka asked.

"If you want." Hitoshi was pretty tired but he would mind getting tired if it meant spending his waking hours with Iruka.

"You look tired. Let's head back. Oh actually let's get another drink, I am thirsty." Hitoshi nodded and off they went hunting down another beverage to try.

=========

"Our flight is tomorrow night right?"

"Mhhm." Hitoshi already flopped on the bed, the cat pillow they had named Isla next to him.

"Have the energy to go souvenir shopping beforehand?"

Hitoshi rolled to face her, "I'll sleep on the flight back, it'll be fine. Besides mum would have my head if I came home empty-handed."

"But you're coming home with Isla, I doubt your hands would be empty holding her."

"It's a her?"

"Isla is every gender and no gender." Iruka huffed as she rolled onto the bed.

"Mood."

-Editing is truly a bitch

Fun fact, that little snippet at the end was because a commenter had wondered would be their reaction and honestly I absolutely did not think of it and also could not figure out how to add it to this chapter.

Anywaysss, I've decided I'll be posting both re-writes and normal chapters every other week but that can definitely change in the near future.

Thank you so so much for reading. If you enjoyed it please leave a vote and/or comment to let me know.

Have a lovely day, night, weekend, whenever, wherever you are.

Stay safe,
Bye Lovies~
