Jubilife City, the largest city in Sinnoh, as well as the most modernized of them all, was just as Gabe had imagined it would be. Complete with towering skyscrapers and busy streets, Jubilife City was truly a sight to behold. Scores of people were seen either rushing to their next obligation or sitting down to lunch. The sounds of honking horns, revving engines and shouts of irritation were all heard throughout the concrete jungle.

Wow... I'm in Jubilife City! Gabe thought excitedly, head on a swivel as he marveled at his surroundings.

Aside from all the distracting noise, Gabe could see several children battling it out in front of what looked to be the Trainer's School. Captivated by the scene, Gabe stood and watched, his eyes focused on the contenders.

"Brings back memories doesn't it?" said a familiar voice.

Gabe jumped a little and whipped his head towards Dawn, who had casually walked up beside him.

"Huh? Yeah, sure... memories," Gabe replied nervously, scratching the back of his head out of habit.

"You know, it kinda surprised me... the way you battled I mean," Dawn began, a her lips creasing into a smile as she observed the battle with him.

"And why's that?" Gabe asked, his eyes focusing on one particular child who was battling with a Starly.

"You just seemed more focused than usual. Must be the excitement of using your own Pokémon instead of a school provided one huh?" Dawn replied, pulling away a few stray hairs as she continued to watch the two students battle in the schoolyard.

So that's how it worked huh? I guess I should have expected as much. Schools in the Pokémon world prepare the students for their journey. If I remember correctly, some schools don't even send them on a journey because passing their classes was the equivalent of earning the badges. But that's so boring!

"You alright there Barry?" Dawn asked, looking at her friend in a concerned manner.

"Yeah, sorry. I was a bit distracted is all," Gabe replied with a chuckle.

Dawn shook her head and giggled.

"Still the same as ever. I swear, you have a one-track mind," Dawn stated.

Gabe raised a brow. He couldn't exactly argue with her there. Barry, both in game and in the anime, had only one thing on his mind most of the time.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, Lucas wanted to meet up with us at Lickilicky's Smoothie Shop for some ice cream," Dawn chirped.

Well isn't that an appropriate name, Gabe mused. A smoothie does sound good right now, He smiled.

"Sure, let's go," Gabe said finally.

"Awesome! Come with me then. Knowing Lucas, he's probably already there," Dawn added as she began walking.

Gabe took one more look at the schoolyard before walking alongside Dawn through the streets of Jubilife City. After a few minutes, the two ended up at what appeared to be the shopping district of the city. Gabe and Dawn entered through the automatic double doors of the mall, and paused a brief moment to take in the scene. The mall was enormous.

Glancing around, Gabe took note that they had entered in through the food court, one of his favorite locations in the mall. He could smell burgers coming from Charby's as well as the wonderful scent of Krabby's Seafood Shack. As he looked around, he spotted Lickilicky's Smoothie Shop, and boy was it busy. And as Dawn had suspected, there was Lucas, sitting down at a table, enjoying his smoothie.

"Lucas!" Dawn called out, hurrying to meet her friend with Gabe in tow.

Lucas looked up and smiled as he saw Dawn and Gabe heading his way.

"Hey guys, you made it!" Lucas beamed.

"Mhm, I found Barry near our old school," Dawn added as she made her way towards the line.

"Ah, that place. Nothing like reminiscing about our old stomping grounds huh Barry?" Lucas smirked.

"Got that right," Gabe replied, deciding to just go with it.

Lucas nodded and took another sip of his smoothie. As he did, he noticed that Gabe had a new companion. On the right side of his belt sat two spheres while the left had four.

"New catch?" Lucas asked, indicating to the separated spheres on his belt.

"Yep! Caught this one not too long after I left Sandgem Town," Gabe answered proudly.

"Awesome! I snagged me something new as well. Maybe sometime later we can have another battle?" Lucas suggested.

"Sounds like fun," Gabe grinned.

After a while of waiting, Gabe and Dawn were seated with their smoothies, and laughing amongst themselves as they conversed. Unbeknownst to the trio, a set of bright purple eyes were observing them intently. The eyes belonged to a fairskinned woman with long, violet locks that tumbled down to her shoulders in waves. She wore a pair of dark sunglasses which were, at the moment, sitting atop her head. She wore a business suit of sorts with a black skirt to match the button up top. Black heels topped off the ensemble.

What have we here? Jupiter mused, stroking her chin as she observed the trio as they talked amongst themselves. We've a daughter of a coordinator, a rookie trainer and if my eyes don't deceive me... the son of the Tower Tycoon himself. I've yet to know his name, but I have indeed seen him with the man on multiple occasions.

Jupiter's sized the youth up, drinking in his soccer player physique, golden blond hair and piercing copper hues. There was a fiery passion hidden within those eyes that she couldn't help but notice. It was as if just being Palmer's son gave him that air of surefooted confidence. Just by the way he sat as well as his mannerisms, she could tell that there was definitely more to the youth than met the eye.

I've never thought to step to the Tower Tycoon, but perhaps his son would be a fun little venture, was her whimsical thought as she sipped the Pecha Berry smoothie in front of her.

Making up her mind, she pushed herself up and flipped her sunglasses down, grabbing her smoothie before walking over to the three friends. Reaching their table, she stopped and cleared her throat to get their attention. The trio looked up at Jupiter.

"Can we help you?" Dawn asked politely, slightly bewildered by the stranger's presence.

"Perhaps. My apologies for the intrusion, but... are you not Palmer's son?" Jupiter asked calmly as she looked over at Gabe who was busy with his smoothie and not looking at her at the moment.

Hearing himself being addressed, Gabe shifted his attention towards Jupiter, his eyes trailing up from the middle of her business suit, up her lithe frame, to her face which was wearing a neutral expression at the moment.

An amused smile plastered itself onto Jupiter's face once their eyes finally met. Unintentional size up aside, she was pleased she'd gotten his attention.

Remembering that Palmer was now, in fact, his dad, Gabe snapped out of his temporary stupor and composed a reply.

"Yeah, that's me, is there something I can help you with?" Gabe asked casually, making it a point to conceal his nervous demeanor.

Jupiter crossed her arms and kept the smile fixed on her face as she spoke.

"Perhaps. You see, I've known Palmer to be an incredible trainer as few have beaten the man. But I wasn't aware," she paused, pointing to his belt to continue, "that his son was also a trainer. I suppose it's only natural for him to follow in his father's footsteps," she grinned.

"Well, he has always wanted to be like his dad," Lucas inputted with a shrug.

"You know what they say, like father, like son, right?" Dawn added.

"Well said Miss Berlitz," Jupiter replied with a faint smile.

"How do you-"

"Oh it's really quite simple. You look so much like Johanna, it's uncanny. It's hard not to recognize the offspring of someone so famous," Jupiter replied shortly.

Dawn couldn't help but agree. She resembled her mother more than her father. Jupiter turned her eyes back to Gabe.

"Now, as I was saying. Your father is an extremely strong trainer. For me to battle against that man is nearly unthinkable, even though I have been curious as to the outcome of such an event. But... perhaps you can give me a glimpse of that, no?" Jupiter asked with a smirk.

Is she asking for a battle? Gabe blinked, processing the question that Jupiter had just posed.

In reality, Gabe had only started out. He'd been reborn on the very day that Barry started his journey. Barry had limited power in comparison to his father just starting out. He had limited knowledge as well. However, Gabe did not have Barry's mind. The only thing he did have, was Barry's body. Gabe, was at this point, Barry with much more foreknowledge on Pokémon. So while his team did not boast the same power, Gabe's knowledge was a completely different story.

"To say that I could offer you a glimpse of my father's power is a bit of a stretch," Gabe replied as he stood up.

Jupiter's smile faded slightly at his words.

"However," he paused, snatching her attention with the burning passion in his copper depths, "I can say with confidence that I will be able to give you a good fight," he finished confidently.

Jupiter held his gaze for a moment or two as the gears in her head began to turn. She had hoped for a different answer, however, the one he gave would more than suffice. The fire in his eyes seemed to convince her that his statement would hold true.

"Very well then, why don't we have ourselves a little battle, say... one on one? I've only one with me as it is," Jupiter stated with a faint smile.

"Fine with me. I have a new partner I'm eager to train," Gabe mentioned, picking up his empty cup to throw it away.

"Perfect. We can meet in the front of the Global Terminal by the fountains. There's a wide open space where we can have a battle," Jupiter stated, walking back to her seat to grab her lavender purse. "I'll be waiting," she called back, sauntering off with a confident stride.

"Well... that was odd," Lucas finally said after being mostly silent during the exchange.

"I agree. I wasn't expecting anyone to just randomly challenge me like that... I mean, we didn't even make eye contact or anything," Gabe stated, only to mentally palm his face at his own remark.

"I think you two made more than just eye contact," Dawn chuckled.

Gabe raised a brow at this statement.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Gabe fired back.

Dawn shrugged and stood up.

"It's not important. What is important is that you have a battle to get to," Dawn reminded him.

Gabe rolled his eyes and adjusted his scarf.

"You're right. I'm actually curious as to why she picked me of all people, to battle. Out of the hundreds of guys here-"

"Barry, you stick out like a sore thumb. Especially with that hair of yours," Lucas laughed.

"What's wrong with my hair?" Gabe frowned.

"Nothing. Anyway, I need to get back to work. Professor Rowan has data for me to collect, and I don't want to lag behind. I'll catch you two later," Dawn stated, grabbing her bag and waving goodbye before walking off.

"I need to take a trip to the Poké Mart. I forgot to grab potions before leaving Sandgem. Have fun. And don't forget about our battle!" Lucas reminded Gabe.

"Trust me, I won't," Gabe replied as his friend walked off.

Gabe threw his cup away and turned tail to walk out of the mall. Eventually, he made his way to the Global Terminal, after some extensive navigation. The city was just as it was in the anime as opposed to the game, so finding the building was more of a task than he'd originally thought.

Waiting for him by the fountain, was the woman from the smoothie shop. As he approached, her lips twitched into a smile.

"You came. Excellent," she said, reaching for a sphere at her hip and snapping it off.

"Shall we begin?"

And I'll leave it there. Jupiter and Gabe/Barry have met. Being out of uniform and dressed as a normal civilian, and not sporting her trademark hairstyle, Jupiter is not easily recognized as many of you probably noticed. I'd did this for one main reason.

If Gabe knew it was her, right off the bat, what fun would that be? Besides, I like to think that the members of Team Galactic changed their look every so often. I'm sure they had lives outside of their organization. Jupiter seemed more of the businesswoman type. Cold and calculated, with a helping of "sexy and I know it" added in.

Anyway, feel free to leave constructive criticism for me as it REALLY HELPS. As many would agree, without good critique, there won't be much growth.
