You would always see people looking so happy with their significant others, and you had a habit of wondering if that would ever happen for you.

Of course, you had feelings for someone in your life, but you were beyond nervous to even think about telling him.

The two of you had been friends for so long and no part of you wanted to ruin that friendship, so you'd gotten used to having these feelings but being his friend instead.

To everyone else, your feelings for Mark were pretty obvious as you were always there when he needed you and they could just tell that the two of you had chemistry.

Ever since things had gotten better in the alphabet city and your friends had managed to get some form of employment, weekly movie nights had become a sort of a tradition.

It was routine for you to sit next to Mark every movie night and Mark had made a habit of pushing anyone else out of your spot if they sat next to him.

"Wow everyone is here early for once," you commented as you walked into the loft to see everyone already there.

Roger was cuddled up to Mimi, and of course Collins and Angel were all snuggled up together.

Angel had gone through a really rough patch and she still wasn't herself, but she was trying to power through.

"And someone is late," Roger taunted causing you to roll your eyes.

You sunk down in your spot on the sofa next to Mark and he instantly moved to place his arm around you.

Mark didn't see the looks that your friends shot the two of you, but you did.

Deciding against acknowledging them, you rested your head against Mark and paid attention to the film that Mimi had chosen.

Throughout the film you felt yourself falling asleep against Mark and once you were out, Mark pulled a blanket over you but then turned to Collins in confused when he paused the film.

"You know she doesn't care about the film, right?" Mark spoke up but still quite enough so he wouldn't wake you.

Collins rolled his eyes. "I've paused it so we can all talk to you."

Mark sighed. "What do you need to tell me this time?"

"To stop being such a wimp about everything and ask that sweet girl out on a date," Angel told him whilst pointing her finger at him.

Mark's brow furrowed in confusion. "What makes you think she wants to go on a date with me?"

Roger groaned audibly. "Do you not remember what she was like when you were with Maureen?"

Mark shook his head causing both Roger and Collins to roll their eyes.

"She didn't come and see you for a long time," Collins reminded Mark. "She never liked Maureen and we all know that, but when you dated her, she was lost man."

Sighing, Mark ran a hand through his hair whilst keeping his other hand on your shoulder as you slept.

Roger then spoke up. "Mate, we all know that you have feelings for her but for some reason you decided to date Maureen."

Angel was nodding in agreement. "The chemistry between you two is unbelievable. It's amazing that you two aren't together yet."

Mark shrugged. "I just never thought she'd want to go out with me – we're just friends."

Mimi laughed. "The fact that she is fast asleep on you now, that very much says otherwise."

When Mark sighed and looked down at you, the others in the room all made moves to stand up and collect their things.

"What're you guys doing?" he asked out of confusion.

"When that sweet girl wakes up, you need to have a conversation with her and I very much doubt that you want all of us here to witness it."

Mark was unable to argue with Angel's logic and so he watched the four of your friends leave the loft, with Roger presumably going to Mimi's flat downstairs.

A few moments later, you began to stir and when you opened your eyes you saw Mark with a smile on his face.

"Where is everyone?" you questioned as you shook your head to clear the sleep from your head.

He shrugged, a slight smile on his face. "They wanted to give us some space."

"Some space for what?"

He reached for your hand once you'd sat up. "Space whilst we talk about us."

You laughed somewhat nervously. "Us? What is there to talk about?"

"The fact that I've had feelings for you for such a long time, and I have never said anything, but our friends have been convincing me and so here we are."

You shook your head, not sure if you believed him or not.

"And I will understand if you don't want to be with me in that way."

Rolling your eyes in a joking fashion, you leant forward to kiss his cheek. "Don't be so silly Mark,"

"Silly? I'm never silly."

Laughing you moved so that you were in his arms, and he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

"Let's see where we can go from here."
