I am so sorry guys, but this is going to be a REALLY sad ending...

Leo POV

Something fell from the top if the cliff. Something large and humanoid.

“Look!” Frank yelled, pointing at the figure. I already had my eyes on it, but the rest of the crew turned their heads. The turtle by the entrance opened it’s mouth wide and snatched up the tasty treat.

It was Sciron.

We all cheered. Jason and Hazel had done it.

“Alright guys,” I said, raising my hands, “we’ve got to get this ship back in working order. We have to sail out of here.” The others nodded. I walked over to the edge of the ship and looked down at the broken oars. I just needed to mix some of the major parts, but it looked like we could sail pretty far.

Man, why couldn’t Clover be here?

“Oh my gosh! Clover!” I exclaimed. I pushed away from the railing and ran down the steps. I walked into the lounge, expecting to see her there.

“Hey Clove. Are you-” I cut off. She wasn’t there. I looked around, just to see if she was hiding.

“Clover?” I called. No response. I began to get really worried.

“Clover? Where are you?” I sternly called. She didn’t respond. I rushed down the hall, checking every room.

“Clover! Clover! Where are you?!” I threw pillows off of beds, kicked clothes off the floor, and almost slid into a wall. When I didn’t find her, I ran up onto the deck.

Nico was back up on look out, Frank was helping Piper with some of the broken splintered oars. Coach Hedge was prancing around the deck singing and dancing while swinging his baseball bat.

“Guys,” I huffed, “Clover is missing.” Piper dropped the oars, accidentally smashing Frank’s toes.

“OWWW!!!” he cried out, hopping on one foot while rubbing his toes.

Piper gasped, “Frank, I am so sorry!”

“No, it’s okay…” he said forgivingly. Coach Hedge stopped dancing and stared at me suspiciously. Nico looked down from the mast.

“Are you sure she isn’t just in the engine room?” he asked, swinging his feet over.

I shook my head, “She isn’t there. Nor is she in the lounge or any of the bedrooms. I’m starting to get worried…” Piper stepped forward and put a hand on my shoulders.

“Don’t worry Leo. We will find her. She is probably just taking a nap or something.” Piper’s charmspeak washed over me.

“Yeah… Probably a nap…” Piper nodded and motioned to the others to follow her. Coach and Frank followed her below deck as Nico climbed down from the mast. I looked up at the cliff and say Hazel and Jason flying down to us. I waved at them as they came close. When they touched down, Hazel was a bit groggy and Jason was smiling. But once Jason saw my worried expression, he turned serious.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. I shook my head and looked at the deck.

“Clover is missing. We can’t find her.”

Jason nodded.  “We’ll find her. She couldn’t have gone far.” I didn’t move. Hazel put on a smile, even though it looked a little forced.

“Don’t worry about it Leo. She couldn’t have left the ship.” I nodded and both Jason and Hazel went down to the under deck. I stared at the cliff and sighed.

Clover had to be close… She couldn’t just leave…

“Leo,” Piper called, “we found something!” I turned quickly and rushed down the stairs. Piper and Jason were looking at a square piece of toilet paper outside the bathroom.

“What is that?” I asked, unsure if I wanted to know. Piper handed it to me.

"Hazel and Frank found it. It was nudged in between the mirror and the wall in the bathroom." She said. I read Clover's handwriting.

Dear Leo,

I am sorry, but I had to leave. It was an emergency. Someone very important, more important than the Greek gods themselves, needed me. Do not try to contact me. Forget I even existed.

You will find love. I will make sure of it.

Your Dearest Friend,

Clover

I dropped the toilet paper, unsure what to think, say, or do. Clover had left. She had walked out on me. She couldn't even do it in person.

"Leo," Jason said, putting a hand on my shoulder, "I'm sorry man..." I shoved him off and walked down the hall up to the deck. It was the only place I was welcomed. Nemisis was right. I was the seventh wheel.

Clover was gone.

Percy and Annabeth were in Tartarus.

My heart was crushed.
