Swords clashed violently.  Jutsu were thrown left and right.  People from different clans were sent flying.  In the midst of it all, a female stood in the center with hair the color of blood and wine red eyes.  Her black cloak flared wildly as she spun in a circle, blowing all of the men close to her far away.  Her eyes glowed a bright magenta for a second, making everyone freeze in their place.  Her clan's kekke genkai shouldn't be used on weaklings, but she didn't care because of her anger.

Fear flashed in their eyes as the chakra was slowly drained from their bodies by the seal that appeared on the ground.  Her red orbs looked into the eyes of the closest man as bodies dropped to the floor.  The male shivered, his light grey eyes widening as she walked closer to him.  He couldn't move.  He hadn't frozen in place, the jutsu had trapped him where he stood.  Being such a weak member of his clan meant he couldn't break the jutsu.  His arm twitched as the woman neared him.  There was really only one thing he could do.

Right before she could reach her arm out to grab his neck, he slashed at her with a kunai in his right hand.  His intended target was her neck, but the eyes would do too.  As the remaining chakra was slowly drained from his body, he uttered a few words..."The curse continues."

Darkness was all she could see.  She had cleaned the blood from her face and healed her wounds before returning home, but the damage was done.  How could she possibly face the council like this?  A blind woman leading one of the most powerful clans in existence?  They would be the laughing stock of the elemental nations.  There had to be something she could do in order to properly see.

She would never have her sight again, but she could still see chakra in her mind's eye thanks to her kekke genkai.  Flaring her chakra only slightly, she could see someone's chakra signature nearing her quarters.  From the looks of it, the person was her attendant.  A knock resounded in the room as she turned to face the door.  "Come in," she spoke.

The door opened to reveal a woman with raven hair and red eyes.  "Hikari, the council has called for a meeting," her attendant explained.  The clan leader, Hikari, sighed in irritation.  The council called for a meeting at the worst possible times almost always.  "Why are your eyes magenta, is there an intruder?"  The question caught her off guard.  She knew flaring her chakra slightly would alert others, but she didn't think that her eyes would turn color as well.  Perhaps keeping them as a glowing magenta when she met the council would prove useful.

Hikari shrugged her shoulders with a smirk.  "The old geezers in the council need to learn their place, so I figured that keeping my eyes magenta would strike fear into their hearts.  Inform them that I'll be on my way, Akari," she replied smoothly.  Akari nodded before leaving.  Hikari wrung her hands nervously.  What if one of them realized she was now blind?  Would she be kept in the clan or thrown away like a piece of trash?  No, she wouldn't think like that!  She just had to have faith in herself.

Taking a deep breath, she exited her room and turned to the left.  The compound wouldn't be so hard to traverse since she knew it like the back of her hand.  She reached the end of the hallway and pushed open the large wooden doors, entering a room full of elderly men and women with her father present.

Her father, Itsuki Karoshi, was the clan head before her, with navy blue hair and cerulean eyes.  He always thought of Hikari as a carbon copy of her mother, which sometimes brought him grief at the thought of his deceased beloved.

Hikari sat in front of her clan elders and father, her eyes glowing malevolently.  Some of the elders shivered in fear while the others merely thought of her as an annoying brat.  One of the elders, a man named Gin, cleared his throat.  All eyes turned on him, most avoiding his unnerving royal blue eyes and focusing on his silver hair.  "Hikari, the date for your wedding to Daisuke has been set for next week, which means you are no longer allowed to leave the compound for battle until after the marriage," Gin explained, earning a glare from the young clan leader.

She allowed her killer intent to flood the room, even incapacitating her father.  She swiftly stood and growled at the old man that believed could order her around.  What right did her have to order her about?  He had no right whatsoever.  She shook her head.  "You believe you can order me as you please, well you can't.  My father was lenient with all of you when he was clan head, but I will not be as forgiving as him," she stated, swiftly leaving the room.

The clan elders were so insolent believing that she would allow them to control her like they did her father.  She took down an entire clan without much trouble (other than losing her sight), so massacring her own clan elders would be no problem if she decided to do so.  Her hands twitched at the thought.  So long as they didn't know it was her, she would gladly rid her clan of those old geezers.  The only problem is that her handiwork is too recognizable, so she threw that idea out the window.  Perhaps her friend had a better idea.

With that thought in mind, she left the compound in search of their secret place, a beautiful garden full of flowers of every kind and a brilliant sky blue waterfall cascading down the surface of a cliff.  This time of day was always the time they would meet, even if one or the other had a clan meeting, they would merely skip it.  Footsteps sounded behind her as the bushes parted to reveal her good friend.  His long raven hair with blue tints flowed in the wind behind him, uncovering his onyx eyes.

The male took a seat next to her with a small smile gracing his lips.  "Good morning, Hikari, how was your night?" he questioned.  She shrugged her shoulders, her red eyes looking nervously at the ground.

"There's something I have to tell you."
