"Urgh!" Nai let out as he crashed into a near by shop.

Starting on his first anamoly chase kept him on his feet as he swung through another dimension with Jess. Earth 31913 that was in a old worn down town. Dirt roads and wheat fields covered majority of the the area.

A forceful tug on his chest managed to pull Nai back up on his feet. He caught up next to his partner. "Shouldn't you be on bed rest instead of tossing your baby around?" He asked

Jess rolled her eyes. "Shouldn't you be paying attention to the reason we are here?" She twisted the handle of her motorcycle, increasing the speed as she moved swiftly through the streets.

Ignoring her offended comeback, Nai used his momentum to launch a kick to the villian stuck in the wrong dimension. However, this one was new for him. This anamoly was like the final boss in the video games, grabbing his leg to toss Nai aside like a piece of garbage.

Knocking himself into a hard surface. Unlike the streets filled with water like he was used to in Neuphrates. The desert terrain a challenging contrast to the waves he could maneuver with ease. Punch after punch from giant purple Titan, Nai regroups with Jess behind a wooden wagon and a horse.

"How do we take down this guy again?" He asked.

"This is Thanos from Earth 838." She reminded him. "He's a newer kind of villian but not common. He wants to wipe out half of his universe. But if he realizes the concept of other dimensions, he will want to do it on that scale."

He nodded, understanding the stakes they were up against.

"Thankfully he hasn't gotten any infinity stones which will makes it a little bit easier." Jess added as she peaked over the wooden board. "And he's glitching a ton which gives us an advantage."

Right in the moment of uncertainty, an idea clicked in his mind. "You stay here Jess, keep him occupied or try to find the Spider who lives in this dimension." He said as he turned the dial on his watch, activating a portal.

"Hey! Don't bail!" Jess shouted at him with a glare.

"I'm not."

Nai looked over his shoulder with annoyance of the bossy attitude from the pregnant woman. He turned back towards the riff of pink, orange, purple and blue in front of him.

"Just getting back up." He stated before leaping into the portal.

Her head continued to race about the life she wished she had. Another dream of her fiancé, breathing as if he were still alive. A reality that was just a play of her mind. On top of that, accuastions from news reports and updates from police didn't make her morning any better.

The sun rising in the distance with a foggy overlay in the neighborhood. Then of course the overload of spiraling thoughts about the multiverse and the concept of Spiderwoman were attacking her. Gema hated the feeling of giving up, but it seemed like the only option.

Setting her empty cereal bowl in the kitchen sink, placing it in the washer, Gema made some tea as she looked out at the horizon. Hoping to clear her mind from the past few days of escaping the Spider Strikeforce.

The stillness only lasted for a second longer as Gema sensed the noise, indicating a portal. She let out a long sigh.

"Please go away, Nai."

At first there was no response, so she turned to curse her brother out. But the irritation was quickly replaced with raised eyebrows in seeing a different Spiderman standing in her house.

"Hey,"

Peter B. Parker stood on the other side of the island counter, taking off his mask.

"What are you doing here? Trying to get me back in?" She frown with stubbornness. "It won't work."

Peter chuckled. "I mean that was part of the intent, but I also wanted to stop by and see how my friend was doing."

It wasn't who she wanted, but she accepted the offer. He must have noticed her discomfort as tears swelled up in her eyes since he opened his arms. That did it, it triggered everything she had been holding in. Gema walked around the island and allowed his.
Her hands clinging onto the fabric of his Spider suit. Tears staining the red and blue scheme.

"Get it all out." Peter guided with calmness. Not the typical goofy behavior she usually saw him carry.

Gema shook her head. "I can't do this anymore!" She cried out. "I can't keep pretending to be okay."

"I hate it too."

She peered up at him with a look of curiosity. For once feeling understood by someone. Not being belittled for her resisting her superhero persona.

"The superhero part, but my life in general too. It led to a divorce and I didn't want anything to do with Spiderman. Sometimes it felt like what I did never mattered or made things worse." Peter added.

That life wasn't the same as hers, but it was just as unbearable. Gema couldn't imagined if her and Carter broke of the wedding instead. She shook her head with pain the scrunch of her nose. "How did you do it? Play the same routine throughout your whole life?"

"I wish I could have an answer." Peter said with a solemn stare at the floor. Then he grinned. "But a friend of mine, Miles, showed me there was so much more to being Spiderman. I learned from him that all of the roadblocks don't define who we are as a hero. It's what we do about it."

She remembered the name Miles. The one, who's universe triggered the multiverse to glitch because of a greedy variant of Kingpin.

"Why be a hero then if it's always wave after wave crashing down on us?" Gema asked through a sniffle of her nose.

Peter pondered for a moment, thanking about what to say next. He squeezed her shoulder and said. "My Aunt once said, that there's a hero in all of us. It keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble. And finally allows us to die with pride. Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most."

Taking in the words carefully, it was impossible to not find the truth. She had to give up that dream that could never be. But also remember what Carter said to her.

"To do the next right thing?" Gema added with uncertainty.

"Exactly!" Peter nudged her shoulder. "Maybe you should give me some pointers."

Gema smiled up at him. "Maybe. If I could babysit."

Peter howled a laugh, his hand on his chest. "I'm sure my MJ wouldn't mind that when the baby's here."

"She's due soon right?"

He nodded. "Oh yeah! Our little Spidergirl is going to pop at any moment. You should come to the baby shower coming up!"

Though she hated the multiverse, she couldn't pass up the invite. "We'll see."

Peter was about to drop the details, but was interrupted by another portal ripping through the living room. Gema's twin brother came through, catching his balance.

"You'll get used to it Nai." Peter chuckled.

Nai was bending over with his hands on his knees, panting heavily from the adrenaline. "Gema. We need-"

"No."

"Oh come on!?" Nai shouted.

"Absolutely not." She said.

"Tita!" Nai whined with his hands as if he were about to pray to the gods.

She rolled her eyes, turning back to her research in front of her. "You can do it on your own. Besides you have Jess."

Nai stepped in front of her, the screen behind. "But I can't! And we need back up."

"Peter can do it."

"I actually have to take MJ to an appointment." Peter said.

"And we need you."

"Nai-"

"We've tried multiple times." He said before she could decline once more. "And a Spidertwin without his twin is pointless."

She held her frown. Nai knew she didn't want to, but wasn't going to let her avoid this any longer. This was the perfect opportunity to accomplish his plan.

"Gema, remember our promise?" Nai pleaded as he looked up at her like a child on the verge of tears in a candy store. "I need you."

Gema sighed, closing her eyes. "Fine."

Nai put both fists in the air. "Yes!!! You're the best sister ever!!" He trapped her into a suffocating hug, squeezing her tight.

"Just this one time." Gema grunted and pushed him away so she could breathe. "I'm not doing anything after."

Nai smiled. "Copy that."

A wavelength of Spider senses triggered as the giant purple villain almost punched him in the face. Nai rolled over to miss the next massive rock-sized fist as Gema swooped in to kick the titan's arm in perfect timing.

"And I thought facing 7 bad guys was bad." Nai scoffed reffering to a previous battle in Neuphrates.

Gema didn't reply as she remained emotion-less as she stuck a web to get herself off the ground. Nai let out a sigh as his attempt to lighten the mood backfired.

"Miguel did mention Thanos was a higher level villian." Jess yelled, puffing out through each breath. Her aching arms holding up the Titan's arm. being crushed.

"Yeah thanks. I think we get how dangerous this guy is Jess." Nai said with a dragged out sigh.

Jess rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry you have to put up with him." She said to Gema as she used her motorcycle to strike Thanos' shin.

The titan grunted and used his strength to rip off the webbing on his arm, despite the downfall he had. He grabbed his giant double edged sword, tossing it towards Jess who dodged the weapon in time but tumbled off her bike in the process. Thanos then grabbed both of the twins and shoved them to the ground.

"You can't defeat me." He chiseled his crooked teeth together before glitching.

"Aren't we lucky to not have an ugly villian like him." Nai grunted under the weight pressed on his chest. "That chin too."

"Shut up!" Gema hissed at her twin brother as his taunted lead to more pressure on her lungs.

The titan sneered, raising his other hand in a fist to smash on the Spidertwins. Before he had the chance, a thin white material looped around his wrist like a lasso. Followed by a loud neigh and melodic trotting.

As Thanos was pulled away, the twins gasped for air, Gema was being put back up on her feet.

"You okay?" Nai asked.

Gema squinted her eyes. "You tell me." She said with bitterness from the resentment she had with her brother.

Nai wanted to say something, but his attention was drawn to what happened to Thanos. A man with a red bandana covering his face, containing similar patterns as Peter's mask, was charging at the titan on the back of his horse. The animal wearing a matching mask.

"Who's that?" He asked.

"That genius," Jess said coming up next to them, still not fond of Nai's behavior from earlier. "Is the Spiderman of this dimension."

Nai nodded as he took note of the explantion.

Then a loud snarled came from Thanos as he got up. His fists clenched and a sneer in his eyes. Nai glanced at Gema with a grin. "Let's give this blob-flish a sample of the Spidertwins." He said.

Without hesitation, his sister leaped into action. Flicking her wrist to attach a web and infused venom from jellyfish tentacles. Thanos yelled out in pain as more webs stung into his thick purple flesh.

"Hurry up! I don't know how long the sting will last on a titan." Gema replied as she shot another wave of sting.

"You were able do it pretty well for a humanoid Lizard, I'm sure a purple alien isn't too far off." Nai commented, swiftly trapping Thanos in multiple nets. Keeping him from escaping.

The titan eventually tumbled to the ground from the amount of jellyfish venom in his system and closed his eyes shut. Heavy breathing with sweaty foreheads. Nai glanced over at his sister, sharing a proud grin through his mask.

"We did it." Gema said.

Nai smiled. "I knew I couldn't do it without you. It's kind of hard to be a twin alone."

Before they could exchange further words, a loud groan came from Thanos. Gema shot another tentacle web into his neck.

"He won't be out for long." She stated.

The new Spiderman adjusted his hat on his head. "Is someone going to explain to me why this alien is here, why he was acting weird and uh who all of you are?"

Picking up the heavy anamoly together, Nai and Gema looked at each other, then at Jess. She rubbed her pregnant stomach with nod and tossing a watch to him.

"Come with us." Jess said as she opened a portal.

"So you captured the anaomly?" Miguel asked, analyzing the titan now locked behind the red cage back at HQ.

"Yes." She replied.

He turned his head, shocked to see Nai's twin standing next to Jess. Miguel tilted his head with a frown, trying to figure out how she was convinced. He glanced at Nai who gave him a shrug and a grin. Miguel then noticed the new recruit.

"And you found a new Spiderman?" He said, returning to the small holographic pad connected to the cell. Tapping and entering information and notes.

"Yep." Jess said as her and the twins shifted off to the side.

The newcomer took off his hat and held it on his chest. "Howdy," He greeted. "The names Patrick O'Hara. Or Web-Slinger. And this lovely gal here is Widow." The man introduced himself while petting the mane of his horse who snickered in amusement.

Miguel made eye contact with Jess. "Show him around." He said, gesturing behind where there rest of HQ was.

She nodded and began to leave with the new Spiderman. Once Web-Slinger left with Jess, the twins began to follow.

"Not you two."

Miguel finished typing something on the information pad of the cell. "So both of you were involved in catching Thanos?" He asked, folding his arms while turning to face the twin.

The stare made Gema nervous as she rubbed of her thumb on her opposite hand, she cleared her throat. "Yes. We both were." She said and Nai nodded as to support her claim.

"In that case," He expanded a orange square that transformed to be half the size of a movie theater. The moving pictures in the orange perimeter looking like a action sequence in a 3D format. "I have another mission for you two that is top priority. "

"Another one!?" Nai exclaimed while putting his fists in the air.

Letting out a long sigh, Miguel stepped down from his spot. His taller figure approaching the twins as his eyes flickered back and forth between the two. Miguel touched a button, that neither twin noticed, activating a screen of information to pop up.

"Indeed." He stated, placing his hands on his hips while looking at the screen. "And you two are extremely crucial to this villain who's stuck in another dimension."

"Um, Miguel." She said, earning another strange look. "I'm not sure if I-"

Without waiting for her to finish, Miguel pulled up the profile of the anomaly. A man only wearing green shorts. He held a staff of some sorts, emerging out of the water. Glitching from the holographic model. The man sprang up, hovering above the surface. Tiny feather wings on his ankle kept him airborne as if he were Hermes. The familiarity made her lips part.

Despite being cut off, Gema stared at the man as she whispered. "Is that Nam-"

"Kind of." Miguel said confirming the observation.

"Just not your Namor." Lyla popped up, showing a screen with numbers in front of her like she were teaching a class the steps to a math equation. "This one is from Earth 838, stuck on Earth 211."

Nai crossed his arm with a shrug. "That explains the difference."

Gema looked more at the man with a crafted nose ring and green jewelry decorating his pointed ears. Then her eyes fell on the data off to the side.

"This one isn't Atlantean like ours." She stated, pinching her bottom lip with her finger and thumb out of habit. "He's is the leader of Talokan, an ancient Aztec culture. An underwater civilization built and dependent on the special metal of..."

"Vibranium?" Nai asked finishing the sentence as he read the report.

Gema turned her head over to Miguel with her eyes in awe. "That's Neuphrates' main power source. It preserved Atlantis and a few other civilizations in our dimension from the Great Flood."

"That's mostly why I need you two for this mission." Miguel said with a nod, looking from Gema to her brother. "You're the only Spiders I have that have experience with navigating water and the most knowledge of Vibranium."

"Do other dimensions not have it? Or are we just special?" Nai scoffed with a snort, grinning with a pride.

Gema was about to shoot a web in his face, but her brother was humbled with a single glare from Miguel before she could.

"They do." Miguel said sternly and shook his head. "It's just handled differently."

"How different can it be? It's one of the best resources and strongest metal." Nai asked, maintaining a cocky attitude. "There has to be at least one other universe that uses it like ours."

Gema held eye contact with Miguel once more, sending a silent apology for Nai's behavior.

"According to our data files, that's a no." Lyla clarified, scrolling on her tiny pad of recorded information.

"And after seeing how you two dealt with your Goblin, and now Thanos," Miguel said, wetting his lips as he continued. "It was impressive."

Miguel looked down at the ground, then at the screens, letting out a sigh. Bracing himself for the next words to come out of his mouth. "It seems to me you're both more than ready-"

"Chee-hoo!" Nai hollered, leaping and swinging around the lab.

Miguel winced. "Dios Mio. Eres peor que Peter." He mumbled under his breath.

Embarrassed, Gema sighed before giving into her temptation. She stuck a web on Nai's face to drag him back to the ground.

"Suck your head." Nai snuck in a Neuphrates curse to himself while standing up and rubbing his behind.

"When do we get to go?" Gema asked, ignoring Nai's tongue sticking out at her.

"As soon as possible." Miguel replied with a shrug. "I think you two can handle it." He stated, walking away towards his lab.

"Hold on." Gema shook her head.

Miguel stopped in his tracks, looking over his shoulder. "You're not getting out of this one." Miguel sneered.

Gema frowned, sending a glare at her brother. "I should have known you dragging me into the fight was just a trick."

"Tita, I-"

She rolled her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. "And Peter visiting me was part of the act." Gema said as she shook her head.

Before Nai could assure her of her false accusations, Miguel cut him off. "You're needed on this mission whether you like it or not." He said with his teeth clenched and crossing his arms. "And you're Spiderwoman whether you like it or not."

Gema peered up at his taller fram, she wasn't going to back down from her choice. Feeling resentment to that title she replied. "Maybe I quit. I'm pretty sure I made that clear at your silly council meeting."

Miguel scoffed at her offense with a scowl. He shook his head about to protest to her stubbornness. He took one step in her direction.

"Perhaps," Nai interrupted the tension, his face scrunched as if to ponder in thought. Earning a scowl from Miguel who shut his eyes to maintain his patience.

"A compromise?" Nai suggested, looking back and forth between the two. "Since you two clearly disagree."

His sister frowned, glancing over at Miguel who mirror the look on her face.

"Gema," Nai brought his attention to her and grabbed her shoulders with a caring gaze. "You're mad at me for dragging you into this. And I don't blame you. But give one more go, and I promise, it will just be one this time."

A huff sounded under Miguel's breath. "And then what?"

Nai turned over his shoulder with a serious expression. "If she joins this mission and still wants to quit after, we'll have to respect that."

No words could come to her mind as her brother looked at her again. She bit her lip in attempt to hold back the tears. Nai sent her a wink with his ego written all over it. The two looked at Miguel, waiting for his response.

"Fine." Miguel muttered, shutting his eyes for a moment. Then pointing finger at Gema. "One more mission to make up your mind."

Gema still didn't have much desire to go. Weary that this was all a lie to force her to join. There were a million of dangers facing a villian like Namor, in an unknown dimension. The risk of loss much higher than in Neuphrates.

"What do you say to that tita?" Nai asked, leaving it up to her. Reminding Gema she still had him just like they promised days prior.

He kept that promise regardless of the multiverse madness. And if he could do that, Gema didn't need to doubt the promise he made in front of Miguel. The least she could do, was to return her loyalty to that commitment for her brother. Just like he did for her.

With a deep breath, Gema stepped to be right beside Nai, the both of them standing in front of Miguel.

"I'm in."
