Hailee had ran out, leaving early, of Carter and Jackson's Party/Trip. She didn't give much of an explanation and actually hasn't been seen since.

Until today.

The Group were at Antonia's house, hanging out together like they usually did. There was a loud, rushed knock on the door, followed by a few more.

"You expecting anyone?", asked Jackson, getting up.

"Oh please tell me you haven't been getting into any more fights?", asked Garett, frowning.

"Hey it was only one! And it wasn't even MY fault!", defended Antonia.

"What happened again?", asked Nina with a chuckle.

"This girl was making fun of Carter. So I gave her a polite punch in the face", she said, calmly and with a small shrug.

One thing about Antonia- she was fiercely loyal. Her caring side mixed in with her loyal nature got her in a little trouble sometimes when it came to defending the people closest to her. She wasn't a bully. She wasn't a mean person. She had a heart as big as most of the others, she just chose not to come off as 'weak'. Not that she ever could.

"I'm suprised Carter didn't kick off", laughed Jasper.

"Me too", said Jackson.

"I agree with that statement!", called out a voice from the kitchen, making everyone laugh. Harrison.

"Hurry up with the food, dude! Haven't eaten all day", called Jackson.

"You ate 30 minutes ago so who you lying to?", called out Harrison again.

"Busted", laughed Apollo.

The banging got louder.

"Uh, guys?! The door!", said Garett, slightly scared at how loud the knocking was.

"It's fine Garett. If it is that girl from before, we can take her", said Carter.

"Violence isn't always the answer you know Carter", said Nina, though she knew Carter would still do it.

Jasper walked to the door and opened it, a suprised look on his face when a girl ran in.

"Clem?", said Jackson, in astonishment.

They hadn't seen Hailee or her cousin for a while. What had happened?

"I messed up. Really bad. It's all my fault", she cried, collapsing onto the floor.

Apollo knelt down to her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Calm down Clem, it's ok. Just tell is what's wrong?"

"H-Hailee's dead! I killed her!", she cried, her tears holding back some of her words.

Everyone was taken aback.

"What the h*ll? How the h*ll? Why the h*ll?", was all that Carter could say.

The girl fell silent, as if she couldn't hear all the questions she was being asked.

Antonia surged forward and grabbed Clem's shirt, pulling her up. "¡Mejor hablar, chica! ¡No estoy jugando! ¡Hablar!", she yelled, fire in her eyes.

The fear in Clem's eyes grew as she started screaming.

"Antonia please! Just let go of her!", pleaded Nina, her ears hurting from all the screaming.

"Not until she gives us answers!", yelled Antonia, only loosening her grip slightly.

"Just get off me! Then I'll talk!", screamed Clem, clenching her fists a little.

Antonia exhaled sharply and let go of her, running a hand through her hair. "Cool, now spill"

Just as Clem was about to speak, Jackson's phone rang.

He looked perplexed as he stared at the name across the screen. He answered it, uncertainty in his voice. "Hailee?"

Shocked isn't even the right word to describe the reactions of the others.

Clem's was probably easier to describe: worry.

"Hey, Jackson? It's me, Hailee. Why do you sound so suprised?"

"O-Oh, no reason. What's up? You've barely spoken to any of us since the Party. How have you been?"

"Jackson, is it ok if we catch up another time please? I promise everything's ok. Has Clem been around to yours?"

Jackson furrowed his eyebrows. "Actually, we're all at Antonia's right now"

"Oh, ok. Well has she been round there today?"

"Why? What's happened?"

"It's a long story."

"I've got time"

There was a small sigh from Hailee, nothing to suggest she was angry or growing inpatient though. Just tired.

"Jackson I'll explain it all soon. I just don't want to repeat myself. I'd rather say it to the others too"

Jackson nodded before realised she wouldn't be able to hear his nod. "Yep, sure. I get it"

After a long silence, Hailee spoke.

"So um, have you seen Clem?"

"Oh! Sorry!", he said, chuckling. "She's here. She just came now"

"Don't let her leave. I'm on my way. Thanks Jackson!", she said, ending the call.

Jackson put his phone away, a stern expression on his face as he turned to Clem. "How twisted can you get? Saying your own cousin's dead!"

Clem looked down, a frown on her face.

Even Apollo was ashamed of her.

"After everything she's done for you. This is how you repay her? What were you trying to achieve?", asked Garett, her arms folded.

Clem looked up a little but didn't make eye contact with anyone.
"She was going to go to music school"

"Oh give me strength", sighed Carter, rolling her eyes. "Music school was a fresh start for her! Why do you want her to be miserable?"

"I don't. I just... didn't want her to leave", said Clem, sadness in her eyes.

Jasper stepped forward. "Wait a minute. You're saying YOU had something to do with Hailee's application being denied?"

"Jasper and I worked for ages to get her place back!", said Nina, anger in her voice.

"I'm sorry! I-I... I was with Hailee in her hospital room. She was asleep and her phone vibrated. So I looked and it was a message from the Music School telling her that they understand and just need her to confirm by texting back. I... I texted back saying she no longer wanted to go", said Clem, ashamed at what she had done.

"You're messed up, twisted, pathetic. You don't deserve someone like Hailee!", yelled Carter, losing it.

"I'm sorry!"

"We don't NEED your appologies! How could you be so... selfish?!", snapped Apollo.

The others turned to him, eyes wide. They did NOT expect him to snap. He was calm, easy going, quirky and adorkable. That's the kind of person he was. This was serious.

"You even got Apollo angry! Why did you do all of this?!", asked Garett, still confused as to why Clem stooped so low.

"If Hailee got accepted into the school then she'd leave. I wouldn't be able to stay here anymore and I'd have to go back home. I can't face my parents. The screaming, the arguing...I just can't go back", said Clem, her hands shaking a little.

Then there was silence. Did Clem's reasoning justify her actions? Not really, no. Did it help them understand her a little more? Yes.

Clem wiped the tears from her cheeks and ran a hand through her hair. "I have to face it now. There's no way out. I'm going to have to go back home"

"Is there no one you can talk to, for help?", asked Antonia, feeling a little bad. She didn't regret what she did but she did wish she knew about Clem's past earlier.

Clem shook her head. "No. And if there was, I still wouldn't talk to them. I can handle it on my own"

"This is handling it? Ruining your cousin's life? Clem, you need help", said Garett.

Clem shook her head again. "No. I'm fine. Whatever happens to me happens. I did this to myself"

Apollo's expression softened. "This isn't over for you Clem. You can't go back to a place that you hate"

"I can and I will. It's all I've got left", sighed Clem.

There was another knock on the door.  "Antonia? Jackson said you're all here", called Hailee.

Antonia walked to the door and opened it. "Hailee! Nice of you to make an appearance. Where have you been, girl?"

Hailee shrugged. "I'm sorry, I just needed some space after everything. How are you? And the others?"

"I'm good. And you can ask the others yourself. We're all here", said Antonia, stepping aside so she can come in.

Hailee nodded and looked at the others. "Hi. Great to see you all, I've missed you"

"We didn't move to another country. You just... stopped calling. Stopped hanging out with us", said Nina.

Hailee frowned, looking down for a few seconds before looking up. "I know, I know. I've just been... well, I guess I shut myself out after the accident. I never really recovered. I mean, I've got nowhere to go. After school, I don't have a future. Didn't get accepted into the Music School, didn't apply to places here. I've ALWAYS been hardworking. Never once broken a rule. Then, I went to ONE party and my life changed. Remember, Isaiah's Party? I felt like I BELONGED somewhere, you know? Small things like being invited, heading down to the police station, being crowned joint Queen at Homecoming! Things I could have never done if it wasn't for you guys. I felt free. Like I didn't have to follow orders all the time. Since Benny Jr. died, things just went downhill.  Even before that though, I lost Thomas... and Kat. I barely speak to them anymore. And Gracie, Isaiah, Damien, Lila, Rosa... everyone who helped me to grow. All gone. I didn't tell anyone but I felt like I was drowning. I kept coming up for air but then I got too tired. I didn't have enough life left in me. This is the FIRST time I've spoken about this. To anyone. I don't know what to do. I'm scared. Things were looking up... then I had my accident. I was drowning all over again. I know I'm just being stupid"

Hailee had never shared her emotions and thoughts on this level before. She always felt like she had to stay strong, for her grandparents.

The others realised, finding out what Clem had done would break Hailee.

Hailee's eyes met Clem's. "Clem. Why'd you run away? We had to pack"

"Pack?", asked Apollo, his eyebrows furrowed.

Hailee frowned and nodded. "Yeah, for England. That's another thing I had to say. I was planning on doing a Vet's Course in England but... I'm not anymore"

Clem's expression turned into a confused one.  "What? So...we weren't going back to England?"

Clem felt guilt surging through her body. Hailee was never going to let her go back to the pain she felt. And she betrayed her.

"Of course not! There's no way I'm letting you stay with your parents, not if it's upsetting you. Besides, I did alright without my mum and dad didn't I?', she said with a laugh at the end. "And if I DID get accepted into the school you still wouldn't have gone back. Gran, Grandad and I all decided you could stay in my room whilst I was in England"

Clem felt so much guilt that it was practically seeping through her skin, spreading around everyone in the room. Tension wasn't a strong enough word.

"Hailee I'm so sorry I-"

"-want to live with me!", said Antonia quickly.

The others turned to her, shocked.

"Uh...yeah. It would be a good way to get to know her", said Antonia.

"That's sweet, thanks Antonia. She'd probably cramp your style though", laughed Hailee.

Antonia laughed, a nervous bubble of laughing coming from the others too. They were NOT letting Clem's actions hurt Hailee.

"Anyway, come on Clem. We need to go home, Grandad needs to take his medication and Gran's gone to the Bingo", said Hailee.

Clem nodded and slowly stood up, walking to the door. She turned to face the others, a sad expression on her face. She nodded to them, a gesture to show how grateful she was. She walked out.

"I know you have to go back home now but maybe tomorrow we could all go to the cinemas?", suggested Garett.

Hailee looked down, signalling to Clem that she should wait outside for her. She closed the door. "Actually... I think it's best if we keep our distance for a while"

Their eyes widened.

"What?!", exclaimed Garett.

"Who are you and what the h*ll have you done with Hailee?", asked Carter. "The old Hailee wouldn't pass on an opportunity for us all to be together. You always go on about how we're a family to you! Was that a lie?"

Hailee stepped forward with a sigh. "I don't know who that is Carter! I feel like that girl that you described is gone. I have felt like that for a while", she said, holding back tears.

Apollo walked closer to her, putting a hand on hers. "It's ok...shh...don't worry about anything"

"Hails, why didn't you tell us you've been feeling like this?", asked Jackson.

"Jackson's right, we're your friends. We would've helped!", said Garett.

Hailee shook her head. "I didn't want to seem...weak"

"Hailee, admitting that you need help isn't weak at all. It's the strongest and bravest thing you can do", said Garett, earning a nod from the others.

"Garett's right", said Nina, a sincere and comforting smile on her face.

"Come on Hailee, be brave", said Antonia.

Hailee played with the loose thread at the bottom of her shirt, the tears now rolling down her face. "Guys..."

"Yeah?", replied Apollo, his tone full of worry.

"I need help. I don't want to feel like this anymore. But I can't do it alone"

The Group agreed to help her, I mean, of course they would. Hailee started seeing a therapist and asked the Group for one thing that would help her out. Space. She distanced herself from the others, believing that she needed time to find herself again. She still called and sometimes texted too but other than that, Hailee was never heard or seen. No one knew when she'd come back...

There we have it! Hailee's exit storyline. The storylines I choose to do for Hailee are a little hard hitting but do reflect real life struggles. For example, Hailee's accident and the emotions she feels as a result of it. I think it's really important to shine light on topics that are a little sensitive within reason, to make sure peoplr who might have dealt with such topics know they are not alone.

Finally, yes, this is Hailee's exit which means I'm not rping anymore. I don't know if I ever will again and I might even leave Wattpad completely for a few months because my exams are reaching that crucial stage now. It's literally make or break for me.
