"WAKE UP DEVIN!"

I jumped up out of a dead sleep, quickly trying to gather my bearings after being shocked awake. Golden rays of sun filled the cabin bedroom I was in. Oh, that's right. I'm not stuck in a dingy cell anymore. I looked around for the source of the voice that yelled at me to wake up.

Mike stood at in the doorway with the door half open and his hand on the outside handle. I gave him a dirty look when I felt Ricky moving next to me. Great, he woke both of us up and obviously there's nothing urgent.

"Jesus, Mike. My first sleep in two years that I don't have to wake up for kitchen duty and you couldn't let me sleep in?" I grumbled. I groaned as I rubbed my eyes. "What do you need that's so important you had to wake me up?"

"I need the address of the safe house in Washington, so I can get the fuck out of here. I'm sick of this place already." He replied.

I sighed. "I'll get it for you, just, fuck. Give me a few minutes to wake up."

Ricky sat up in bed. He sleepily put his arm across my bare chest and rested his head on my shoulder, moaning in efforts to wake up more. Mike narrowed his eyes at Ricky. If looks could kill. Sorry, Mike. I can't help it that you're a jealous fuck and I didn't want a romantic relationship with you. The angry seemed to quickly turn to regret.

He began to pull the door closed, mumbling, "Chris was just about to start breakfast."

"We'll be there in a few minutes." I responded. My words were followed by the door shutting a little louder than it needed to. I gave Ricky a soft kiss on the head as I wrapped my arm around his waist. "Sorry about him."

He smiled from the kiss. Ricky met his eyes to mine and pecked my lips. "It's fine. No one can ruin my good mood anyways."

He was so fucking beautiful. A grin pulled at the corners of my mouth. "Why are you in such a good mood?"

"I haven't been in prison for close to twenty-four hours, last night I had sex with the sexiest being on this earth, and I got to wake up to his beautiful face. Even if it was a rough wake up call." Ricky said, speaking as if it was so simple.

It wasn't simple though. He was an ex-fed turned murderer, and I was the type of person he used to kill. We just managed to escape a high security prison and now we're on the run with a bunch of fellow criminals. My ex-hatefuck who happens to be a cannibal is jealous as well. And Ricky and I both keep awkwardly avoiding the word "love" but I guess that last part is kind of normal? What's normal mean again?

Ricky and I had fucked plenty of times in our cell at the prison. Last night, it was different. It wasn't just hey I'm a hole and he's going to take advantage of that. No, it was soft and loving. I felt like I was on top of the world and no one could tear me down as long as I was with him. He makes me so damn high. I'm just worried that we're stuck in the honeymoon phase and it's eventually going to fall apart. When it does, will I be able to live without him? I guess I just have to take it one day at a time. I'm so damn addicted to him now.

He was perfect. I sat on the edge of the bed, pulling on my sweater. Then I looked over at him and my heart must've stopped from sheer shock. How did I get so lucky? Every tattoo on his pale skin was horrifically beautiful. He was so slender, but his arms were built. As he pulled on a black shirt, he pulled his hair out from under it and messed it around a little. He was flawless. And mine. He was all mine.

Ricky caught my stair and smiled at me like a dork. "What are you looking at?"

"Just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." I replied. I stood up from the bed and went over to a pile of clothes to find myself some pants. "You know you are perfect. That's why Mike's so jealous. He knows he can't compete with you."

"Hm, I don't know about all of that. I do know if he tries to take you from me, I'm going to cut his tongue out and pull every one of his fangs out. Slowly."

I laughed evilly. "Like I said, you're perfect. C'mon, sexy. I smell pancakes."

I heard him quietly cheer under his breath because we were getting a good meal for once. He's such a dork, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Ricky and I walked out to the open floor concept room that connected the kitchen and living room. Chris was at the stove flipping pancakes, with Mike assisting him. Ryan was sitting down at the kitchen table with his food and a cup of coffee. Everyone else was in the living room watching the morning news.

Mike turned around from the stove and handed a fresh plate to Ricky without a word. Then Chris handed me mine. I sighed, grabbing Ricky's food from him. He gave me the most pathetic look so I handed him my plate. Then I walked around the island counter and dumped the pancake in the trash.

"Don't trust food Mike gives you." I warned Ricky. "You can have mine. Go sit down."

Mike rolled his eyes at me, crossing his arms and copping a total attitude. "I'm not going to kill him."

I stepped closer to him and whispered, "I'm not taking the chance that you put rat poison in his pancake batter. I know you're pissed that I'm with him and not you, but knock this off."

"That's not why I'm upset." He responded, breaking a bit of a whine in his response. "If you're happy with Ricky, that's fine. I'm pissed that I was waiting for you for two years and you wouldn't go out with me. But as soon as he comes along you ask him out and you two are madly in love. I'm pissed you lead me on."

I scoffed. "I didn't lead you on."

Mike suddenly pushed me back. I stumbled a bit and looked up to see he was genuinely upset. "Don't you dare say that! You fucking did it to me daily! I thought you cared about me but you didn't give a shit. I just want to get out of here already. You make me sick."

Chris took a deep breath, having heard all of this. He set his hand on Mike's shoulder, but it was quickly shrugged off. "Mike-"

"Stay out of this." He snapped.

"I wasn't going to get into it. I was just going to give you your food." Chris said as he handed a plate of pancakes to Mike. "Here. Go sit down in the living room with the others."

Mike wordlessly took the food he was offered. He went over to the living room and sat down with sadness stuck on his rough face. The others stared at him but didn't say anything.

"I'm sorry about that." I murmured to Chris.

"It's fine. We all know how he gets. Can you grab me a coffee mug from the cupboard while I finish these up?" He asked me.

"Yeah." I simply replied.

I went over to the cupboard he gestured to while he had been talking to. Opening it, I saw an assortment of black and white mugs. I grabbed three black ones, then filled them with the fresh coffee pot sitting on the counter.

"Thanks." He said. "Hey, there's extra on the counter if anyone wants some!"

Chris set the extra pancakes he made with the leftover batter on the counter. He handed me a plate, then grabbed his own. We went over to the kitchen table and took a seat with Ricky and Ryan. I handed the extra coffee to Ricky and he smiled at me warmly. Then he got distracted by a thud on the floor. We both looked over to see Ash and Nikki wrestling each other over the leftovers. While they were distracted Vinny got up and took them for himself.

"Guys, it's not worth fighting over." Jeremy spoke as he tried his best to be the neutral.

"There's nothing left to fight over." Vinny replied through a mouth full of food.

"Just because we're mentally disturbed, doesn't mean we can't have manors." Ryan muttered. He tipped his coffee up to his lips and stared at them like a disappointed father.

I shrugged. "Let them have their fun. They won't all be together much longer."

"What is the plan after this?" Ricky asked.

"Most of it, we're going to have to wing it. Moving in one large group would be too suspicious, so we're going to pair off in twos and just hope we see each other on the other side." I explained while I picked at my food.

"What about transportation? Money? Weapons?" Chris questioned me, to which I waved my hand dismissively.

"That's why we busted Nikki and Ash out with us. They've got it all covered." I said.

"Guys," Balz interrupted us from the living room. "You might want to see this."

I looked over at Chris. We shared looks of concern before getting up from the table. All of us walked over to the living room and stood behind the couch. One of the others turned up the TV as we saw the morning news woman on it.

"We're sorry to interrupt your usual programming, but we come to you with an urgent message from authorities. "I can finally tell my mom I was on TV." Balz joked.

"How do we get out of the state if we have to get past boarder patrol?" Chris asked. My response was silence for a moment. "Devin?"

"I don't know!" I snapped in a moment of frustration.

How the fuck do we manage this one? We can't stay in the city. They're going to overturn every rock in efforts to find us. I was at a fucking loss. There's no way we came this far to be stumped. Chris wasn't happy with me biting his head off like that. Before he could respond, the one thing we prayed wouldn't happen, did. It caught all our attention and raced our heart rates the second it happened.

There was a knock at the door.
