Authors Note: HI, I know, Im horrible. Ive had this written out for a while and a couple more chapters as well, but life has gotten in the way. Just finished my first year of college, whooh! So chapters will be updated, and it wont take a year for a new update cause that is just a crime to let it go that long without anything new. I do have edited versions of the first two chapters, which are written better, I just do not know how to update them without ruining the way this is set up. Anyways Enjoy!

               CHAPTER 3

As I ran, I couldn't help the stinging feeling in my chest from the thoughts of my family that were flowing through my mind.  Why did they have to die?!? Why did that idiot pull out a gun? I hate him! He took everything almost everything from me.

If I didn’t have Ryan and Jared as my friends, I would have probably done something really stupid.  I will never work with Romeo Anderlin. As I was running through the black and red hallways, my vision blurred as nausea slammed into me. I stumbled as I tried to control my breathing so I wouldn’t throw up.  I groaned quietly, this really isn’t a good time to be getting sick.

I slowed down considerably as i jogged to my locker, debating on buying food since i refuse to go back to class.

I was concentrating so hard on spinning the dial of my locker to the right numbers that i didn't hear or even notice the person who was standing next to me. I just wanted to buy some food and go home already. My house might be empty, but it is much better than being stuck here..near him. The sound of someone clearing their throat shocked me into being aware that i wasn't alone in the hallway and whoever was in the hall was right next to me. I glanced to the side where i heard the person clear their throat. Shock and anger flooded through my body as a looked up into the face of the person i technically just ran from just moments before. Shock delayed the anger from reaching into my words as I slurred out "what are yooou doing here." it took as few more seconds to process that Romeo was leaning his back flat against the locker next to mine, head forward and titled upward looking at the ceiling. When it finally sunk in, an angry fire flooded through my veins as i spat out "Get out of my way and back to class. At least then i can leave and not have the chance of seeing your face more than i absolutely have to in class." He stood there, his eyes trained on the ceiling, just taking his time to answer, or better yet, move his butt back to the classroom. I was starting to become impatient, normally by now he would have made a sarcastic remark or done something, yet he is just standing there, staring at the spot above his head as if all the answers to life's questions were on that ceiling. If they were, maybe they can give me the answers to the perfect study habit for the next math test? Resisting the urge to just walk away and buy my precious food like my stomach is begging me to do, I closed my eyes for a moment to wonder how much i am going to regret what im about to do. i opened my eyes and turned to fully face him, curious about his odd behavior and what his response would be. Romeo glanced down at me through the corner of his eye before closing them. While keeping his eyes closed, he pushed off from the lockers. Slowly he took a deep breath and looked down at me, as I tilted my head up to glare at his face all which irritated me even more by the fact that he was so much taller than me. As the seconds ticked by, I contemplated on kicking him until he fell onto the floor. Yeah, I’m violent. I know I am and it is mostly toward the man…no…boy in front of me. He is no man, just a boy who ruined a girl’s life and took almost everything she ever loved away from her. Finally he shifted his gaze away from me which didn’t even seem to be really looking at anything in particular which confused me. He sighed as he turned away, pulling the hood of his sweater onto his head with a flick of his wrist before saying, “go through the side entrance toward the back of the school. There aren’t many teachers patrolling and the guards don’t really care one way or another.”

I stood there utterly confused as he walked away without another word, he has never tried to help me and to be honest, I didn’t want his help at all. I closed my locker door that I had forgotten about in the midst of having to stand near…him. I spun around on my heel, shrugged my backpack higher up onto my shoulder and walked away pretending I was a ninja. If Ryan or Jared saw me skipping class then I need to practice being a ninja more often, plus afterwards I would never hear the end of the impending lecture that would follow. ‘Besides I am only going this way because it is the fastest exit not because he suggested it’ I lied to myself, trying to convince myself to believe the reason my brain bobbled into my thoughts as the truth. Then again why would it not be the truth, I was headed this way anyways. It’s the road to food! I had just gotten past the door that Jared had his science class in when the door swished open. I froze in fright, squeezing my eyes shut, hunching my shoulders and held my breath hoping whoever it was hadn’t noticed me. As soon as I felt a tap on my shoulder, I drooped my shoulders. Ha, so much for that hope. Oh look at that, there it goes away and out the window. I waited for the angry rant on how I should not be skipping class, what was I doing and where did I even plan on going. Instead I was treated with silence. I curiously pealed one eye open and turned around ready to face the lecture. Instead what I saw was a guy a few inches taller than me, light blue eyes dancing with curiosity and amusement. “What are you doing?” Blue-eyes asked me, the smile tugging at the corner of his lips was ringing clearly in his voice. “It’s none of your business.” I replied with a blank expression. “Well based on how you reacted when I came out of the classroom, either you are sneaking out of class, avoiding someone in my class or are up to something. Or just maybe all three. So which is it?” he threw back at me. Annoyed I narrowed my eyes at him and curtly shot out “Like I said; none of your business.” I turned back in the direction I was originally heading in when I was tugged back into a solid wall which I realized was the boy’s chest when I saw his arm slung around one shoulder to the other pinning me to him in a sort of hug...or restraint. Either one. “Yeah yeah, you said that already. Give me a few minutes and I can help you sneak out the school without actually getting caught by anyone else.” I couldn’t do much with the tone he used. It was the I’m-getting-fed-up-with-you-so-listen kind of tone. I hate it but I don’t feel like arguing with anyone today so I’ll play along for now. I waited like he asked, and after a few minutes the door opened. I let go of the breath I didn’t realize I was holding and when I saw that it was just blue-eyes I relaxed. “I waited. Now I am leaving.” I said quietly, mentally drained from the day so far. I still want my food, and I am going to get it even if I have to be annoyed by every male I have had to speak to today so far. As we started walking, the guy stayed quiet which I was thankful for but also slightly confused about. What is with everyone doing 180’s on their personalities so much today? “Hey.” I said quietly. “Yeah?” he said happily in response. “What’s your name?” I asked with a slight blush at having to ask a question that seems so simple yet oddly frustrating with how I didn’t even think to ask of till now. “Hayden. You’re Juliet right? I hear one of the guys in my class mentioning you often. You’re also easy to figure out who you are because of your eyes. A dark brown iris in the right eye and dark blue iris in the left one. It’s pretty rare for a person to have heterochromia iridium, especially at this school. There are only two are far as I know of here, which is pretty cool actually.” He rambled on. I raised one eyebrow at his long response. To me, if felt more like he was the type to speak his way through figuring things out. I might just have something in common with this random boy. “Okay.” I simple said back. Suddenly Hayden grabbed a hold of my arm and yanked me into a small corner. “Stay here for a moment.” He whispered as he eyed me with a serious expression plastered onto his face, replacing the easygoing expression he held only a few seconds ago. He emerged from the shadow where my corner was and a good distance away from where I was hiding as he threw a bright smile onto his face and shouted out “Hey, on my way to the tech support office. The PowerPoint and movie projector are acting weird again. Teach sent me to get someone to fix it.” I peeked out and around the area I was taking refuge in to see he had his hands intertwined and at the back of his head in a relaxed manner. I took the chance and leaned out farther saw that there was a hall monitor staring at a piece of paper in his hand, probably Hayden’s hall pass. Huh, guess it slipped my mind that there was a reason why he was in the hall when I was walking by.  I ducked back around my corner before I could be caught. When I thought it was safe to look back around the corner I was greeted with the sight of Hayden smiling back at me. “Could have told me he was gone.” I mumbled. His smile grew as he chirped back “Was gonna but you were already spying around the corner again.”
