Chapter 15

Elizabeth's POV

 Time Skip... A Week Later...

  Bruce and I are at our table for the science fair, acting like two of the biggest geeks on the face of the earth. To be fair, everyone here is a geek but we might get an award for being the biggest geeks rather than for just our project. We eagerly await for the public to come and geek out with us too. The real fun shall start pretty soon!

A little while later...

 The public works their way around. I'm shocked by the fact that thousands of attendees are here. I didn't think there were that many science geeks in NYC but apparently I was mistaken. I thought we were a bit more of a rare breed. Woops. Bruce is charming the socks off of everyone while I chip in from time to time. He's more well known in the science world and just the world in general, therefore it's understandable for him to be the main spokesperson for this project. 

  The hours go by really fast and before we know it, it's time for the judges to judge us... I mean our projects... well they'll probably judge both us and our projects. Let's get real, it's New York City. The judges panel is consisted of the woman who contacted us along with three other people, all of whom are up in age and have loads of experience in this line of work I'm sure. 

    I smile softly at Bruce only to catch him already staring at me. I blush intensely and bite my lip. "W-What is it Bruce?" His smile melts my heart. "You're just so beautiful Liz." I lean my head on his shoulder, in which he wraps an arm around me and kisses me on the forehead. We patiently listen to the judges ramble over the intercom before the results come through. Third place is announced first... which isn't us. Second place is announced next... which isn't us. Bruce and I take a shared deep breath, praying to the heavens that we get first place. 

      We listen carefully and light up when we hear our names... we got first place!!! Everyone applauds us and the two of us hug each other tightly before running through the crowd to get to the stage to get our award and prizes. Bruce steps aside to let me give the speech. "Thank you so much everyone for giving our project the time of day and thank you to the judges for giving us this prize. We're honored and so happy to be the ones getting to accept it. Bruce and I slaved over this project for weeks. We didn't think it was going to be as big of a hit as it was. I know I'm repeating myself here but thank you."

    I blush as I step back into Bruce's arms. He leads us back off stage after we get our award and prizes. We head out into the cool night air to hail a cab back to Stark Tower. I'm there more than I am my own apartment. Maybe I'll end up moving in with Bruce eventually, that would be amazing.
