The tall man leaned against the apartment's wall waiting for someone unhurrily. After they got the painful schedule from the sixth Hokage. They talked about how to handle all the tasks, to finish it in time. Of course there seemed to be only one option that is working through night before dawn. Later, He convinced Temari to rest before starting work. Because she's been traveling from Suna to Konoha for three days. It was impossible to be in a state with a hundred percent readiness. But she just asked for bathe in her room. It couldn't be help so Shikamaru waited outside without an option.

The door was opened again. Shikamaru gazed at the sand-haired kunoichi who looked cleaner than lately.

"You've just passed the desert for three days. Are you sure you're not gonna take some nap before we start to work?"

"It's fine. Just let me grab some bite." That's not a bad idea. It's almost 12 now. If she chose to have some lunch instead of take some rest. He would agree with her.

"Yes, my lady." Shikamaru tilted his head before Temari lightly punched his shoulder.

"What was that, geez!" The sandy blond chuckled.

He took her to a diner that's on the way between her apartment and their work place. Young Nara chose the place that he thought it'd serve quickly. They hurriedly ate before return to work. After the lunch, they come to face paperwork in front of them. They both moved all of files into the documentary tower, which was often abandoned all the time. It took longer than they thought.

"Seriously? They expect us to handle all of these in only one night? That sounds impossible." Temari wrinkled her nose.

"Since we're professional proctors. If we can't, no one can." He shrugged while stacking documents. "What a drag."

No one liked Kakashi's idea. But everyone had a mission. Shikamaru slightly knew the movements of his classmates. Lee, Kiba, Shino, Tenten, and Hinata were all sent to clear out missing nins in Kusaki no kuni while Choji, Ino, and Sai were in Iwagakure. Sakura buried herself in the hospital. Only Naruto still had no mission. But the dumbass hero wasn't a good choice for a documentary assistance.

sigh...

The shinobi and kunoichi, they both familiarly work together. For shikamaru, he had no problem working with others. Everybody had different ways to handle with. He just used different methods in each one. If so, Temari is the best ideal partner. Although she was a bossy, she was a highly potentail woman. Besides, She easily understand the difficulty and her fastidiousness helped her work out incredibly well.

Shikamaru knew that Temari hated a defeat. But in the terms of analysis, calculating the strategic plan, it seemed she'd not oppose him as usual. There are just a few of controversial reasons. As if she acknowledged him. Her aspect made him sincerely impressed.

When he was with her, he didn't have to push much effort. Honestly, she challenged him which no one else in the Shinobi's world could do.

That's her specailty.

"Hey! look at this" He handed her a piece of paperwork.

"Hmm?" She took it to consider while he asked for her comments.

In Temari's oppinion, to work with a smartass is the luckiest choice. It'd reduce many trifling troubles. That's why the Suna princess was always looking forward to work with Konoha's genuis. He's smart. He knew his responsibilities. Sometimes, he completely reasonably against her. His only weak point that Temari didn't agree was his gentle approach. He'd give himself a heavy burden.

After the Fourth Shinobi's War, Shikamaru's potential was accepted. His responsibility was increasing as well. There was a moment that Shikamaru was quiet and worried. He rejected her, even if the real reason was to cover the secretive mission in the land of silence. That made her disappointed. Anyway, she already gave him a lesson. A womanly furious lesson.

'Cause he's the only man that she care.

The atmosphere went silent. They exchanged some papers with some advice. When they needed to find necessary documents within the documentary tower. Only Shikamaru could search from the shelves. Because there were full of classified records of the village. The people who had the right to take the documents of this room, it's worth high level of Konoha's nins. Although shikamaru was promoted to Jounin, He wasn't allowed to reach high-level documents, which he didn't intend to do. It's not necessary.

The couple wasted their time into silence and work. The scent of ink spreaded and the thin papers screamed calmly. Clockwise ticked continuely until Temari made loud noise in almost 9 p.m.

"Huh!!?"
