At first, I was a bit worried about sharing some of my ideas for original creatures. But I decided it'll be alright to share some of my less detailed ones.

Hope you like these! If you have any questions or even ideas for more, please, feel more than free to comment away! :) I can do a few more that I already have paper sketches for, so if you all enjoy these, I can publish more as well!

Any biological or physical advice or constructive criticism for these will be greatly appreciated! I'd love to hear you guys' opinions on how realistic these are!

Thanks and enjoy!

The Nettle Squirrel is a large evergreen rodent. The barbs on their heads or tails contain toxins that cause nettle-like rashes and bloating, but much stronger. When threatened or scared, they curl into tight balls, leaving only their ears and tail out. Depending on which variant it is, a predator will scratch (usually their mouths) against the squirrel's barbed head or tail. Their fur is in varying shades of conifer bark brown, and the soft scales on their undersides are a pale shade of pine green, for maximal camouflage in the treetops.

The Orchid Gecko is a medium-sized lizard that has complex camouflage and hunting tactics. Similar to spiders, an army of geckos will stand motionless together in patches of similar-looking flowers or strong-smelling herbs, for days at a time. In Summer, when insects are plentiful, this tactic works greatly. In colder months, they'll move to warmer, damper areas and switch to scavenging bugs instead. Their leaf-shaped scales blend into undergrowth and where they make their homes from hollows under thick bushes. On the other hand, their heads change colour season to season, to stand out against other flowers, attracting insects towards them. They're named 'Orchid Geckos' because of the shapes of their skulls and the colours most turn into, resembling said orchids.

The Mirage Lop-ear gets its name from how it is one of the only animals that will travel through a desert in the day. They manage this by using their large, baggy, semi-prehensile ears as 'umbrellas', shielding their heads and young from harsh sun and storms. They migrate from oases to oases in their set territories, living and travelling in warrens of up to 50 members at one time. They store fat, for food and water, in vesicle-like organs, between their stomach and spine, forming a permanent hunchback shape.
