Newt climbed the stairs to their living room quarters first. Trinity threatened to punch him if he didn't let her go first, but after giving her one stern look, she complied with his wish. Sirens were supposed to protect their soulmates. It was usually the males, but Newt was human, so it was up to her to be the man.

Newt's wand was drawn, curious and expecting someone dangerous. Instead, Jacob and Queenie stood in the middle of the room, suitcases beside them. Queenie was nervous and excited, while Jacob was unfocused and over-merry, seemingly drunk. He was holding the remaining pieces of Newt's vase, which was broken.

"If you could just give it to me... Just give it to me, sweetie. Just give it to me," Queenie whispered. "If you could just give this to me, sweetheart. Oh!"

Jacob was looking at Newt. "He doesn't care. Hold it."

"St - "

"HEY! NEWT! Get over here, you maniac!" Jacob bellowed.

He flung his arms around a delighted but awkward Newt. Trinity stood awkwardly beside Newt, shuffling slightly away when Jacob tackled him in a hug. She had never met Queenie or Jacob. She only heard about them. Trinity never went out much, but neither did Newt.

"We hope you don't mind. We let ourselves in. It's raining out there - cats and dogs! London's cold!" Queenie exclaimed.

"But you were supposed to have been Obliviated!" Newt addressed Jacob.

"I know!"

"So... But..."

"It didn't work, pal. I mean, you said it. The potion only erases bad memories. I didn't have any. I mean, don't get me wrong. I had some weird ones. But this angel... This angel over here, she filled me in on all the bad parts, and here we are, I guess, huh?" Jacob said.

"This is wonderful!" Newt joyfully exclaimed. "Tina's not here, is she?"

Trinity's blood boiled at the sound of her name. She still hadn't forgiven Tina for kissing Newt, but she tried not to think about it or bring it up. There was not much of a point. It was all in the past. Queenie looked worriedly at Trinity. Queenie knew how she felt and she knew what Tina did was wrong, but she, herself, was at fault. She was the one who told Tina to go see Newt.

"No, Tina isn't here. She's in Paris, so you have nothing to worry about. Why don't I make us some dinner?" Queenie asked.

"Yes!" Jacob exclaimed.

"I can help," Trinity offered. "I'm not the best, but I'm getting better."

Queenie smiled at her. "I'd like that a lot. I can even teach you how to make a pie!"

"What's - "

"It's a desert with a filling inside and dough over it. You can go nuts with the filling!" Queenie exclaimed. "Oh - this'll be so much fun. Come on, Trinity."

"How did you - "

"I'm a Legilimens," she answered. "It's someone who can read your mind. I was born with that ability, while other witches and wizards have to work for it. Anyway, let's get cooking."

Queenie grabbed Trinity's hand and dragged her into the kitchen. Trinity stared pleadingly at Newt over her shoulder. He grimaced and shrugged, unable to help her. Soon after Queenie and Trinity made dinner and dessert for the four of them, they sat at a table bearing Trinity's mismatched crockery. Queenie's case lied open on the sofa.

"I apologize for the mismatched crockery if it bothers you," Newt said. "Trinity saw it in a shop downtown and she absolutely loved it."

Trinity grinned. "I've bought many things from that shop."

She pondered about what other items she should buy the next time she went downtown, thoughts racing across her mind. Queenie couldn't help but smile at her numerous thoughts, even though they gave her a slight headache.

"Well, it's technically Newt's money, actually." Trinity hummed, turning to Newt. "Should I get a job?"

He shook his head. "You know too little of this world, I'm afraid. Besides, I don't mind paying for your items, Trinity. It's no hassle."

She smiled at him. Queenie eyed the two of them, thinking about their relationship. Newt was so nice to her and patient as well. Trinity was like a child. She was still young in the mind. Queenie cleared her throat to regain attention.

"Tina and I aren't talking," Queenie mumbled.

"Why?" Newt asked.

Jacob's vision was pink and hazy. It was like he was drunk.

"Oh - well, you know, she found out about Jacob and I seeing each other and she didn't like it 'cause of the law." She mined quotation marks. "Not allowed to date no No-Majs, not allowed to marry them. Blah-blah-blah. She was all in a tizzy. Plus, the whole Trinity thing... Anyway, we're real excited to be here, Newt. This is a - well, it's a special trip for us. You see, Jacob and I, we're getting married."

She showed them her engagement ring. Jacob tried to toast the moment and poured beer all over his face.

"I'm marrying Jacob!" Jacob shouted.

Now Newt knew what was going on. He glared at Queenie. You've enchanted him, haven't you? Newt thought.

"What? I have not," Queenie defended.

"Will you stop reading my mind?" Newt asked. Queenie, you've brought him here against his will.

"That is an outrageous accusation. Look at him. He's just happy. He's so happy!"

Newt drew his wand. "Then you won't mind if I - "

Queenie jumped up and tried to shield Jacob from him. "Please don't," she quietly pleaded.

"Queenie, you've got nothing to fear if he wants to get married. We can just lift the enchantment and he can tell us himself."

Queenie moved aside with hesitation.

"What you got there? Whatchu gonna do? Whatchu gonna do with that, Mr. Scamander?" Jacob laughed.

"Surgito."

Jacob reacted as though to a bucket of cold water. He spazzed out and shook around, pink smoke erupting from him and floating over his head to form a large heart. The large heart eventually exploded. He came back to himself and took in his surroundings. He looked at Newt and Trinity. The two looked very uncomfortable.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Jacob," Newt said.

"I'm sure you two'll be very happy," Trinity added. "Queenie is a very lovely person."

"Wait - what?" Jacob asked.

Newt looked at Queenie.

"Oh - no," Jacob said.

He realized he had been taken against his will. Slowly, he got to his feet to face Queenie. With a sob, she ran to close her case and packed several small objects, then ran out of the apartment.

"Queenie!" Jacob shouted. He turned to Newt. "It's very nice to see you." He looked at Trinity. "It's very good to meet you..."

"Trinity," she finished.

"Yes, Trinity." He turned to leave, but turned back around, making a full circle. "Where the hell am I right now?"

"Uh - London."

Jacob was frustrated. "I always wanted to go here! Queenie!" He ran after her.

Trinity and Newt looked at each other.

"When are we going to get married?" Trinity asked.

"Uh... When I buy a ring, love."

"And when's that?"

"Um... When...I have more money..."
