Chapter eleven
Double date
April 5th 1963
Ringo's POV:
I woke up with Lucy on my chest. I looked around and remembered that I spent the night. The clock next to her bed said it was 11:40am. "What?" I mumbled. Lucy shifted her body and nuzzled her face into my chest. I gently shook Lucy and she woke up. "Richard?" I bit my lip while smiling as she used my real name. "Can I use your phone?" She nodded and sat up, reaching across me to grab the phone. As she grabbed the phone she looked down at me. "Sorry." She said. I shook my head and said "it's fine." She set the phone in my lap and sat back down next to me. She shook out her hair and leaned her head on my shoulder. "Will you be leaving after your phone call?" "Yeah, probably. Since we have a date, and if we don't see each other all day, it'll build up anticipation." I said. Lucy blushed and said "jeez, Ringo." I dialed George and Lucy went to the restroom. "Did you ask her?" I said. "Yeah. I'm on for tonight. Are you?" "Yep. Did you pick a place?" I could practically hear George smirk on the other lane. "Yeah. A dancing club. It's really nice." "Ok. I'll be going back to my place soon. So I'll discuss it with you there." "Ah you spent the night again?" I rolled my eyes and said "yes. I'm hanging up, Harrison." "Bye, Starkey." He hung up and Lucy fell back onto the bed. "Now I have to find something to do now that you're leaving." She said. "I'm going to see you tonight. It won't be too long." Lucy sighed and said "I guess." I pulled her closer to me and said "don't be dramatic." She smirked and said "I'm always dramatic." She was now sitting on my lap and I slowly leaned in. "Nope! You're leaving remember?" Lucy said as she jumped up. My lips parted as she stood in front of me. "Touché." I said. Lucy smiled and I stood up. "I don't even get a kiss till later?" Lucy nodded and said "well, you can have this." She kissed my cheek and said "there." I rolled my eyes playfully and said "I need my clothes." Lucy said "oh my gosh you do! I almost forgot!" She ran out of the room and I chuckled at her. She brought my jacket, dress shirt and dress pants back to me. I took off the t-shirt I gave her and held it out to her. She furrowed her eyebrows and said "didn't you want this back?" I shook my head and said "you can keep it a little longer." "You sure?" I nodded and she took it from me, a blush on her face. Lucy left the room as I changed into the clothes I had on the night before. I walked to the front door and Lucy said "looks like I'll be seeing you later." I nodded and gave her a hug. Lucy was taken aback but hugged me. I pulled away from her but still had my arms around the small of her back. I leaned in to kiss her again and Lucy put her hand in front of my lips. She was giggling and she said "Ringo, you're really trying to kiss me before our first date?" "Well, technically we've kissed already." I replied as I moved her hand from my lips. "Yeah and we were drunk." I shrugged and said "and? What if I kissed you right now?" "It would defeat the whole purpose." She said. I kissed her cheek and she smiled and said "are you good now?" "Yeah. It'll last me till tonight." Lucy pushed me out of her flat playfully. She followed me out to my car and I said "I'll pick you at 7:00." "I'll be waiting." She replied.

Time went by pretty quick, before I knew it I was on the way to Lucy's. I pushed my hair out of my face as I walked up to her door. I went to knock on the door and then got nerves. I pulled my hand away from the door and told myself to relax. I knocked on the door and it was a few seconds before she opened the door. She had a red dress on with red heels to match, her makeup was more glamorous than normal. "It might be a bit much." She said. I immediately shook my head and said "it's perfect. You look perfect." Lucy blushed and stepped out of her flat, locking her door. I walked her to my car and we began driving to the dancing club that George had picked out. I was hoping to god that he picked someplace decent, I'd kill him if he didn't. I parked and noticed it was a bit nicer than most clubs. The two of us got out of the car and walked into the club, my eyes scanning the place, looking for George. "What're we doing?" Lucy asked. "I'm looking for something." I said. She nodded and I couldn't seem to find him. "Starkey!" George yelled from behind me. I turned around and he had Patricia on his arm. "Harrison. Looks like I beat you here." I said as I looked up at him. "Yeah, cause you have a fast car." George smiled really big at me and I did the same.

Patricia looked at Lucy and the two of them began giggling. "What're you giggling about?" George asked her as he tried to tickle her sides. "Nothing." She giggled as she swatted his hands away. George escorted us to a table and we ordered some food while watching the people dance. "Did you know it was a double date?" George asked Lucy. She shook her head and said "no. I didn't." "Surprise." I said with a smirk. Patricia said "oh god." George laughed and Lucy shook her head again. George and Lucy began to strike up a conversation as Patricia was laughing at whatever they were saying. I reached for Lucy's hand under the table, holding it in mine. She turned to look at me as George flirted with Patricia. She interlocked her fingers with mine and I brought her hand to my lips, kissing it. "Don't make me blush, Ringo." "I love making you blush." I said as I moved closer to her. George coughed and said "get a room." Patricia busted out laughing and Lucy said "come off it, George." He smirked and wiggled his eyebrows. Patricia leaned over and kissed George's cheek, a bigger and wilder smirk appearing on his face. Our food came and the four of us ate, telling funny stories as we laughed about them. George sighed and said "you guys ready to dance?" Patricia nodded and set her bag on the table, George pulling her to the dance floor. "What about you?" I asked Lucy. She nodded and I took her hand, leading her to the dance floor. There was currently a slow song on at the moment and I said "you know, it took a lot of courage to ask you out." "Yeah?" "You're very intimidating." I said. Lucy shook her head and said "no way." "You are. It's cause you're so beautiful and beautiful girls like you are heartbreakers. I don't want to get my heart broken." I looked down and Lucy brought my face to look at her. "I'm not a heartbreaker. I've only been with one other guy." "I haven't been with many girls but I've had a few." Lucy nodded and I brought her closer to me as we swayed back and forth. "What did you mean when you said you were scared?" Lucy looked down and I cupped her cheek, making her look up at me. She half smiled and said "I was scared to catch feelings for you. You were in a band, that's now rising to fame. I was scared of falling in love again. Because the last time I did, it didn't end well." "How didn't it end well?" She shook her head and said "I don't wanna talk about it." I nodded and said "you can tell me whenever you're ready." She leaned her head on my chest and I held her a little tighter than before. "You're not very tall." She said. I sighed and said "I know. I'm little." Lucy looked up at me and said "that's ok. I like it. You're adorable." I chuckled and A World Without Love began to play and people began to dance faster. Lucy pulled away from me and the two of us danced to the song that blared into the club. As she spun around I watched as she giggled and was smiling really big. The two of us danced goofily on the the dance floor, earning looks from the other patrons. We didn't care how we looked, all I cared about was the amount of fun I was having.

George's POV:
I spun Patricia into my chest and she looked over at Lucy and Ringo. "Everyone's looking at them." I said. "So? They're having fun." She replied. I nodded and continued to dance with Patricia. I couldn't really dance and neither could she, it was fine. I grabbed her and tried to dance with her like everyone else on the dance floor, stumbling a little bit. Patricia pulled me to her and said "it's ok that we can't dance. Let's just make the most out of this." I nodded and she still had ahold of my hand. "You mind if we go over there?" I asked. Patricia nodded and the two of us went towards the back of the club, where the lights were dim. "Why're we over here?" Patricia said. I played with the strap on her dress and she adjusted it to where she had it before. I moved off her shoulder and then put it back. "Cause I wanted to kiss ya without everyone staring at me." I replied. Patricia bit her lip and I messed with the other strap on her dress. "Don't." She said. "Why not? I ain't gonna take it off. I'm just playing." Patricia adjusted her straps and fixed them. I leaned down towards her face, pressing my lips to hers. She kissed back surprisingly, her right hand running through my hair. I smirked into the kiss and pulled away for air when she kissed me again. I kissed her neck up and down and someone said "hey, what're you kids doing over here?" Patricia fixed herself and I turned around and said "I was kissing her away from everyone so people wouldn't get uncomfortable." The older man scoffed and walked away. Patricia looked up at me and said "George." "Yeah?" "Kiss me." I smirked again and said "gladly." I pressed my lips to hers and messed with the straps once again, pulling away from her. I raised my eyebrow at her strap and she fixed it, shaking her head at me.

"Stop messing with them. What're you going to achieve if you do that?" "I'll get to see the rest of your body." Patricia nodded and said "yeah. Maybe eventually." She ran her finger down my chest and abdomen, I swatted her hand away. She smirked and I grabbed a cigarette out of my pocket, lighting it. "Wanna get out of here?" I asked as I exhaled. She nodded and I led her back to the table to get her bag and we headed out of the club.

Ringo's POV:
After a whole night of dancing I began to drive Lucy back to her flat. The ride there was silent except for the radio that played softly. I walked her to her front door and she was currently digging for her keys in her purse. "Lucy." I said. "Yeah?" I smashed my lips onto hers, Lucy kissed me back and stopped digging for her keys. I grabbed her by her hips and pushed her against the wall gently. Lucy cupped my cheek and kissed me again, our lips moving in sync. My grip on her hips got tighter and we pulled away. I pressed my forehead to hers and Lucy's breath quivered. I pecked her lips and she said "you'll stay the night won't you?" "Only if you want me too." "Of course I do." My heart was pounding in my chest and I was terrified. I didn't even notice I was shaking. "What's wrong?" She asked me. "I was afraid you wouldn't kiss me back." I whispered. Lucy kissed my lips and said "I wanted to kiss you on New Year's Day, and many times after, but I was too scared." I leaned my head on her shoulder and Lucy wrapped her arms around me. "Come inside with me." I nodded and she unlocked the door, the two of us getting into more comfortable clothing to sleep in. "You made tonight amazing. Thank you for that." Lucy said. I smiled really big and said "anything for you."

Lucy say down on her bed and sighed. "I gotta go to work tomorrow." "Don't go." I said. Lucy furrowed her eyebrows and said "I have to go. I took all that time off and have to be at work." "Don't go. For me." Lucy rolled her eyes playfully and kissed my cheek. "I have too, Richie." I smiled at the nickname and said "I like it." "Better than Ringo?" I shook my head and said "no. I like it more than Richard." "I love your name. It's so unique." She said. I laid down on my back and Lucy cuddled up next to me. "Hold me." I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her onto my shirtless chest, holding her tighter than ever.
