Kasia lived many lives for many centuries. She had been bonded to humans, but never Gods or mutants or assassins.

Bruce Banner was a completely new soul she had never felt before. She liked that, and it was why she chose him when the mark appeared in front of her, waiting for her to accept or decline.

She changed over the many years of being bonded to different people. She had bonded with a housewife who lost four children in a miscarriage. Kasia remembered the pain and depression, and it etched onto her own soul, especially when the housewife took her own life.

She bonded with a bright, teenage boy who unknowingly called onto her when he was feeling down about himself. She helped him gain confidence, and he went onto grad school. He died of old age, but it was the best feeling of appreciation she ever felt from a soul.

She bonded with an old lady who only wanted company. It was a short five years for Kasia, but she was glad to have helped the old lady live her final days in peace.

Kasia knew death. She knew the feeling and the stench and the sadness that came with it. Bruce's mind was full of death and guilt, and she refused to let him beat himself down any further.

Familiars were creatures of the night, born in the underworld and raised under the moonlight. Their main purpose was to feed on souls, but they could only feed on the soul they were bonded to.

Some Familiars would attempt to kill their master or mistress sooner in order to eat the soul, while most stuck by their side until they were ready to die.

Kasia always stuck by her owners because she had a good heart for a creature born under darkness. She only wanted to spread happiness, and she knew how hard that could be.

She had lived through plagues, and it always brought misery and death. Thanos had done the same, but she wasn't connected to anyone at that time. Now, she was, and even with the other half of the earth's population back, she could feel the sadness from Bruce because one precious was lost.

At times, she could feel a small light slip through the rainy clouds in Bruce's mind whenever Beth was there, but it was gone as quick as it appeared.

He believed it was all fake - that he was simply trying to find someone unconsciously because she had been Natasha's best friend.

Kasia knew otherwise. She was his Familiar, after all. He could try to hide from himself, but she saw through everything.
